Word on the street is that Gareth Edwards is being eyed to direct Children of Dune after Denis Villeneuve finishes his time with the franchise on the upcoming Dune Messiah.

Edwards is best known for having directed Star Wars: Rogue One (2016), Godzilla (2014), The Creator (2023), and Monsters (2010). He is also the director of the upcoming seventh Jurassic Park film.

I don't think anyone can save the Jurassic Park franchise at this point; that's a franchise with one good film and a bunch of horrible ones. But his other work was mostly solid. He's going to be a big step down from Villeneuve, but pretty much any active director is going to be a step down from him. Especially in the science fiction genre where he's made two classic Dune films, a great Blade Runner sequel, and one of my all time favorites in Arrival.

I'd like to see Matt Reeves on Dune since he did such a great job with the Planet of the Apes franchise, but he's busy with his Batman saga so that's probably not realistic.
 
Riley Parra, season 1.

It feels odd calling about 70 minutes a season, but it is cut into six separate episodes.
 
I have been watching The Beatles Get Back movie. I've watched the first 2 parts and still have number three to go. I've always been a big Beatles fan and all I can say is it's a PAINFUL watch! I'll not spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it yet but is planning to but only after 30 minutes it was very easy to see the reason they imploded.
It was very obvious that Brian Epstein did more for them than he sometimes is given credit for.
 
@November It is an action movie based on a comic book starring Charlize Theron as the leader of a small group of immortals (in the sense that they can't be killed until suddenly they can). The original group is four, ranging from a couple of hundred years old to she can't remember how long for Theron's character, but probably 3K years or so. I guess they are the Old Guard of the title, though they are never called that by name. The group are warriors who take on specific jobs that they feel will make the world a better place but someone else wants the secret of immortality from them.
 
Mo. Made for millennials. Sitcom/dramaish without the laugh track. Watchable enough.

If you made it through season 1 you'll probably love the rest. Most people agree season 1 was by far the worst. I wasn't a big fan but my then-girlfriend watched it religiously. But even as someone who didn't like the show much, I definitely agree it got better as it went along. Season 1 was like a Person of Interest ripoff with a few Marvel things awkwardly inserted, but the later seasons are more of their own thing and the show benefits from that.
 
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds S2, episode: Subspace Rhapsody.

The musical episode, in which they encounter an anomaly which makes them all sing their deepest feelings. They have lines about "I've got a theory" and worry they will turn into bunnies. Remind you of any other musical episode? 🤔
 
Ghostbusters: Afterlife

I am getting the impression that the film is acting as if Ghostbusters 2 never happened. Which, having seen that film, is understandable.
 
^ Every Ghostbusters movie so far has been the exact same movie as the first one, except worse each time. Truly should've been a one and done franchise.

Yeah, it seems that is the general consensus on S1 and I had heard that prior to starting it so I was expecting and waiting for it to get bad but it just kept getting better. It's totally my kind of show.
 
Riley Parra: Better Angels

I discovered that seasons one and two were made into a film-length compilation (they were short episodes) which made more sense to watch than the individual episodes.
 
Homestead Rescue. Not so sure about the garden ladies techniques, but the repairs, tips and makeovers are fun.
