What are your all time favorite T.V. romances?

Relationships tend to be the biggest pull for me when it comes to TV shows, it always has been!

My ultimate 'ship ever is Lucas and Peyton from One Tree Hill. I just adore them. They have a wonderful story together and I went, and still go through, every emotion possible with them. They represent everything I want from love and everything I think it means for two people to be together.

Others include:

Haley and Nathan
Sydney and Vaughn

I have a ton of others (I could name one from every TV show I've ever watched if I wanted to) but the ones I've listed are those that mean something to me and depict what I think relationships are all about.

I am usually more invested in the friendships between the character than the romance but I do have favourite TV couples.

Willow/Tara - just adorable.

Giles/Jenny - the snarking!

Xander/Cordelia - high school romance has never been more fun that that.

Hanna/Caleb (Pretty Little Liars) - I love how Caleb's storyline ties perfectly into Hanna's daddy issues plotline.

Piper/Leo (Charmed)

Buffy/Angel (Buffy the vampire slayer) - it will always be my favourite couple.

Chris/Jal (Skins season 1 and 2)- this couple always makes me grin and cry, they were just friends who grew to best friends into love, their love was beautiful.

Jason/Kimberly (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers)- don't laugh I still watch the first two seasons and movies, I always wanted them together in the show as neither of them couldn't handle without each other and in the last movie the oringial script had them going on dates and kissing but thought it was already obvious they were dating.

Phoebe/Cole (Charmed0- I love this couple since the beginning, I always wanted them to get their happy ending and hated it when the writers changed Cole.

Monica/Chandler, Joey/Rachel, Phoebe/Mike (Friends)- Monica/Chandler were perfect together complety opposite that's why it worked, even in the what if episode they still were perfect for each other. Joey/Rachel yes I didn't say Ross, Ross annoyed me a lot and got sick of the on/off realtionship, after do a lot more rewatches it was obvious Joey had a thing for her and when he said it was love almost cried, I wish this couple stayed together. Phoebe/Mike is the cutest couple on that show and I love how much Phoebe loves Mike.

Stefan/Elena (Vampire Dairies) even though I find Damon hot, I still prefered Stefan with Elena and I thought it was so beautiful.


This next one is random as I don't even like the show or watch it for me,

Declan/Kate (Neighbours)- I was forced to watch neighbours back in the day and I actually started to like it cause of these couple, when they were just friends Declan was always there for Kate cheering her up and making her feel she's not alone, Kate was there for Declan when his wife died and she raised his baby. When they were a couple it was the cutest thing ever. After he left I stopped watching the show as it got boring fast haha.

Shipping, in a nutshell, is wanting a two particular characters to end up together. At the lower end of the scale shipping can just be that basic desire to see a couple end up together, but it can also be fan art, fic writing/reading, taking part in discussions about said couple, vidding... the list goes on. Shipping is being a fan of a couple. However, some of us place more importance on it and do it with more gusto than others 😉

Oh, okay, lol, ya, I guess I ship Buffy and Angel 😉. Quite a bit, now that I think about it.

Buffy and Angel are love in it's "purest, most perfect form'? Really? How so, if you don't mind me asking? I view their relationship very differently.

Maybe we just have different things we like when it comes to relationships (which is totally cool😉), but I've always liked Buffy and Angel because even though there were so many reasons why it would couldn't work, they were totally complete with one another. Again, I know this is how you see it (and don't get me wrong, I loved Buffy and Spike too), but I never wanted a relationship to work out more than Buffy and Angel.

Throughout the series Buffy has so many awful things happen to her. She has relationships that come after Angel, but I don't think any made her feel as happy. In a truly insane world where there is always a crisis on the horizon, Angel is the only one that gives her bliss. She loves Riley (although I don't think she was ever in love with him), and she loves Spike and relies on him tremendously, but I just feel she was truly, completely one with Angel.

Is it idealistic? Sure it is. It's innocent and it's idealized (which I suppose is why some aren't into Buffy and Angel), and if that's not your thing that's fine, but I've always liked that. I don't know if I've explained it well enough, but it's one that's always, always got to me. Maybe it's a personal thing, but I just think of them as perfect.

I couldn't stand Clark/Lana, too much angst, it reminded me of Bangel. 😛 And I actually haven't gotten far enough to see Lana and Lex together, so my mind may change on them, but so far I like them. 🙂

Since Buffy the Vampire Slayer started I've always shipped Buffy/Angel. I just fell in love with the heart ache (depressing, I know but the first epsiode of Buffy I watched was Surprise/Innocence).

In Charmed I was originaly a Piper/Leo fan but once Cole/Phoebe appeared in Season 3 I switched ships, which I very rarely do. I think I enjoy watching the whole bad guy being good because of love relationship. It's why I love the Nathan/Hayley relationship in One Tree Hill and Pacey/Andie from Dawson's Creek. I felt cheated that their scene was cut out of the finale episode1

When I originaly watched Smallville I shipped Chloe/Clark, I just really liked Chloe and even knowing they would never end up together I still really wanted them to. The letter she reads him is so heartbreaking. I was happy that she ended up with Oliver but as much as I shipped them it never seemed very natural, even though I was desperate for it to be.

I loved Max/Liz in Roswell season 1 and the beginning of Season 2, but after that their relationship lost its spark.

Aeryn Sun/John Crichton from Farscape had a very interesting romance. I loved them from the very first episode. I was gutted when the show ended but I'm glad they went over to Stargate, even though it meant I lost out on the Carter/O'Neill relationship.

I think that's the main ones 🙂
