what did everyone think of s4?

Season 4 = an okay season. It had some good episodes but the whole Riley, and Initiative thing I hated sooo much!
 
Season 4 was stupid. Riley ruined the episodes with his cry baby crap. A lot of great things did happen in season 4, like Oz leaving, Willow getting together with Tara, Faith returning, and the Hush episode, but Riley and the Initiative story kept getting annoying.

We all have our own opinions on our faves and worst seasons and S4 for me does not come under either of them, it is one of those seasons which lye in the middle, the best for me is S6, and the worse is S7/S1.
 
Season 4 for me is definately not the worst. In my opinion it's way better than Season 6. I find there are alot of episodes that I really enjoy and I watch quite often. Ones such as The Freshman, Living Condition, Fear Itself and so on.

Season 4 probably rates equal third with Season 1, after 2 and 3.
 
Actually...I HATED Season 5...
I think one of the reasons people hate s4 so much is because people are resistant to change...
First and foremost...without the transitions the characters went through in s4...seasons five through seven would not have been possible...
You guys say Riley and Buff had to normal of a relationship...do you guys not realize that it was probably even more psychologically f*ed up than either relationship with Angel or Spike?
Not to mention, this was the last season we had before Dawn and Joss's oh so creative "lets rewrite the history of the show so none of the fanbase has any idea of whats going whatsover" idea....
 
I LOVED Season 4. It wasn't my favourite but it's up there with them. I too don't know why people are so harsh on it. It was classic Buffy, it had humour, drama and action. I did think it was better than Seasons 5, 6, 7 and 1.
 
I can understand a lot of your opinions about S4!
For example Riley.. I first really thought what a looser! But then I watched the season all over again and had to say that I really liked it! Buffy kind of got some hope of a normal relationship! And then those episodes like 'Hush' were really awesome! I liked the way the characters moved on with their lifes and still got to be friends! I really kind of started missing the friendship in the following seasons! And Spike was so hilarious!!! *gg*
Mostley I liked the last episode wheneve willow and buffy tell each other that they are best friends and then they tell it xander, too!

I actually like all seasons... but as for me the second one was the best without any doubts! To see Angelus, Dru and Spike together was absolutely cool!
I almost think I like the 7th season the worth.. it had some good episodes but I didn't like the end(I saw another possible ending and thought that would have been just awesome!)...
 
What did you actually think of season four?

Many thought it wouldn't be as good as previous seasons because of the loss of the famliar setting of the high school but I think it held it's own and did pretty well. It also had in it one of the greatest episodes(Hush)..and one of the worst(Beer bad)

So, What did you think of it?? :😛?::
 
When I think of my favorite Buffy seasons i think of s2,s3,and s5. BUT s4 had some of my favorite episodes of the series like Restless, Something Blue and Hush. The only things i didn't like was the Initiative, Prof Walsh (shudders), Adam, and Riley. so aside from those i really like s4, it's just not my favorite.
 
I used to have this burning hatred for all of S4. I don't anymore. I still think it sucked in a lot of ways, and it was the worst season, but it wasn't completely horrible. It was...alright.
 
I liked Season 4. It was my favourite season next to Season 5. Sure, Adam/The Initiative sucked, but I don't watch Buffy for the Big Bads. Come on, we had Willow/Tara, Faith returning, Hush and Restless. I don't think Riley was as bad as everyone says. Better him then yet another vampire boyfriend.
 
I didn't think s4 was bad...Just not as good as the others. It had some great episodes, and Spike was hilarious, but other then that things were so weird. The other seasons were so full of emotions, so many different emotions. Season 4 was mostly just loneliness...If that makes any sense. There weren't even any real crying scenes except for when Oz left. Which was another bad thing about s4. I love Tara/Willow, but I didn't like the way Oz/Willow ended, and the way Oz changed to almost a different person (I think he did anyway, he seemed so depressed compared to s2 and 3). It was all just so weird. And boring I guess...Riley and the Initiative and Adam and all that was all so boring.
It had some great parts about it, like "Hush" (and a few other episodes I can't remember the name of), the start of Willow/Tara, one of Spike's funniest seasons (A bear! You made a bear! lol)...I guess I'm just not a fan of changes...
And now I've been rambling on again...I have to learn not to post when I'm ill!
 
i think this is a season you really have to get used to. I didn't really like them and until i bought the dvd box and rewatched it all the time.

I absolutely love the hush, Pangs, something blue (i think that one was one of the best ever), Primeval ( i loved when buffy had the payer of all the slayers) and restless ( i think this one was really mystic),

so i had a couple of favs there, but i absolutely hate living conditions
 
I never understood the whole "worst/best series" thing. Sure there are episodes which are better than others, but quality of Buffy so far out shines everyother series on TV that a "bad" one is still one of the best things on TV.

Personaly for me i have enjoyed every episode. I liked season 4, i liked the Initative. I liked Riley, it was nice to see her with someone other than a superhuman type. I enjoyed the ending with Adam, although he did seem the least of the season bad guys over all. The willow/tara thing was good, although i liked Oz a lot sad to see him go....... so.....yeah
 
I liked Season 4. I didn't think it was the best but it was certainly not the worst. It had some really great episodes and fight scenes, we saw a different side to Buffy, the guest appearances by Eliza and James made some really great episodes, not to forget David appearing in Pangs. It was just different to what we had been used too in Season 3.

I think season 4 was decent. It dosen't compare to season 3, but I think it was alright. Riley has a bad rep because he was trying to fill some pretty big shoes. He's no Angel- but personally I think Buffy could've done worse.
