I think it was okay. It was pretty bad as a movie, but teen movies are supposed to be bad and that makes them such great fun; this one was no exception. However, I do really value this movie as part of the Buffyverse, (albeit non-canonical.)

I thought it wasn't really good but like the part where she shot that wasp with a pin

I voted that it was okay, but I think I'm in between there and hating it. The storyline was pretty good, and you can see where it headed into the series, but other than that , it sucked.

Joyce was way different in the movie. I can't imagine Joyce as that self absorbed and snotty rich. I think that it was weird, especially because in the show, she's just a normal mom.

I also didn't like the vampires. They flew, and I don't think they turned into dust. And did they even have bumpies? My memory is a little fuzzy, it's been awhile since I've seen it.

But my all time least favorite thing about the movie is the weird vamp cramps that Buffy got. How is she supposed to fight vamps if she's in pain? I thought that the cramp thing was really weird. In the show, Buffy can sense vamps, but isn't it just more of a tingly thing?

I really like the movie. I actually liked the movie before the show. I thought the show wouldnt be good at all until one day during a new episode in season 2 was on and I watched it and it got me hooked. Ever since then I've loved the show more than the movie! But the movie is still great.

Wow, I just saw this movie for the first time and oh how glad I am that I didn't see this one before the TV show, 'cause I can tell you Iwould have never given the TV show a chance, lol... Anyways, it was fun to see and all, but the vampires really creeped me out, 'cause of how disgustingly weird and "unrealistic" (uh) they were, lol... Ah well, fun I guess, hmm..

I thought that the cast in the movie was pretty good. I realize that the TV series has the reputation that the movie lacks, but the movie was still pretty good. In fact, I would say that it is better than most people conceive it to be.

Hmm, I actually enjoyed the movie. For me, it's not really related to the show in any way. Like, my mind doesn't associate them with each other. (Mostly because the reincarnated Buffy and Merrick look-a-like thing was too weird) So since I don't associated the campy cheerleader-becomes-vampire-hunter flick with the wonderful show that defies description, I can enjoy the camp and silliness of the movie. It makes me laugh. Especially Luke Perry and David Arquette. They're hilarious.

Ah yea, the movie was actually funnier to see than I thought it would be.. And the character Buffy, wasn't as irritating as I thought she would be.. her friends were though, lol, I hate it when characters aren't even the tinyest bit realistic or like human, uh.. But nah I don't associate it with the TV show either..

I haven't actually seen the movie, and I wanted to see it, but now I'm having mixed feelings. Some say it's good, some say it's awful, some say it's okay....I guess it's how you look at it, yes?
I think I'm going to rent it when I get back to the US. I don't want to watch it in Spanish!

Hate

I hate the BUffy movie. Kristy swanson is stupid, but I have to give the movie a hand. 1 hand, got it? Without the movie Buffy as a show may had never been

I thought it was decent....absolutely nothing like Buffy the Series.

If you compare the movie with the series there really is no contest...the series is 358903458908 times better than the movie.

If you just judge the movie on its own then it's really not too bad....nothing spectacular but not terrible either. ::tongue::

I loved it.

You could see, from the very beginning, where the whole mythology starts. And that's the clincher for me: the mythos.

It was funny and lame, and I have this weird obsession with lame movies, so, of course I loved it.

I agree, no where near as good as the series, but I do think it was ok. It was much harder to watch the series then go back to the movie, it seemed really lame. I didnt like how the vamps did not dust off after being well...dusted, that was sad. Lol. I guess I dont like change too much. But before Buffy the series I liked it ok. Was not my favorite but if it came on I would watch it, and now I own it so hey, 2 thumbs up...small ones.

To paraphrase Agent Smith, "I am going to be as forthcoming as I can....."

The movie was heinous.

Yep, one HAS to acknowledge it because it was the jumping off point for one of the best TV series ever.....but that doesn't mean it doesn't stink worse than sizzling dog turd on a hot plate. It was because of watching this movie that I didn't begin watching the Buffy series until it was midway into Season Four.

And I just couldn't get past the idea of Paul Reubens as a vamp. I kept expecting him to don big shoes and dance to the song "TEQUILA" everytime he was onscreen.

No offense to those of you that liked the movie, different strokes and all....but I'm sorry, I just couldn't get into this flick.
