Ok, well I just got an idea for a topic. What does your real name stand for? Does it describe you at all? And if you were to change your name, what would it be and what does it stand for?

My real name is Kambria, but there wasn't any meaning for that at the site I went to so I searched Kam and there was nothing, so I searched Kammi and there was one thing (but it was spelled wrong)

" Kami Male Aboriginal A prickly lizard. "

::eyes:: Mother's got some explaining to do!

*smiles* i like your name!!!
I was curious about this when you posted... So I gave it a look... My real name is Ashley... And this is what I found...

From a surname which was originally derived from a place name which meant "ash tree clearing" in Old English.

So whatever that means... I'm sure its not something to brag about... I think I'll change my name now

My Real Name Amber which means Precious jewel. Which I think fits me pretty well. But I never really cared for my name, not that I hated it or something just Amber is so blah to me. I always wanted to be called Madison but that means Son of Matthew not all that neat but I liked the way Madison sounds more then Amber.

My name is Heather - it's the name of a Plant that grows in the Scottish Highlands. My middle name is Fiona - it means White/fair. Probably the reason I can't get a tan too easily.

Same, makes it easier for me. I wouldn't change my name but I go by "Ash" rather than my full name. May like to change my surname (Boyd) for silly reasons.

My name is Candice and it means in greek origin "Fire white, Or pure" in other origins it means "Glowing". I dont really like my name though my mother was gonna name me Danielle but decided agianst it.

My name is Johanna, a female version of Johannes which means like "God took pity".. Not sure on what though, uh.
I don't like my name.. I wouldn't change it but I'd like it if my parents had given me a different name. When I was little I always wanted to be called Julia.. Not anymore though. I'd like a more uncommon name. So that I don't had to explain which Johanna I am when I call someone I don't know that well... sorta.

mine is Danielle and it means.. god is my judge.. does it describe me? urm no.. not really religious.. so god aint no judge of mine..

My name is Michele (notice the one L). It's french and is the feminine form of Michael. My name means "who is like god", which explains so much! 😀

haha

Brian = Strong and Charles = Manly. Wishful thinking on behalf of my parents for their first-born son...🙂

Lol ! Hey Mr P you have to confess now that you actually are Brian Adams ! ;-) j/k he he he
Interesting subject. :: tu ::

Frankly, I didn't know what in the heck my name meant, so I looked it up and found that the name "Walter" is derived from Germanic, and means "ruler of the army".

Apparently it's true origin is from the Teutonic, and means "rule people".

Lol...well, that's great and all.....but in my opinion the name "Walter" just doesn't seem to be the type of name that would inspire armies, or even move the masses to pay homage. LOL.

Zod....now THERE'S a cool ruler's name! Why couldn't my parents have given me THAT name?? Somehow the phrase "Kneel before Walt!" just does not seem to cut it. 😛😛

Anyhoo....here's the web page I used, for any new thread readers that might wanna look up their name: www.behindthename.com

i totlay love those nordic surnames that ends like that.. my cusins middle name is ingesdottir... and my mom changed her name a year ago and her last name is reidarsdottir... :)
My real name Kirstie (pronounced K-ear-st-e, not like Kirstie Alley) means- A follower of Christ, a Christian, which is weird because I'm not Christian and I'm unsure of my belief in Christ.
Paige is French meaning- useful assistant. Old English- child, young. People describe Paige as a sophisticated, upper-class woman who is independent, intelligent, and fun-loving.
Yeah, I'm independent, I guess I'm intelligent, I'm fun loving...but I'm not upper class.
Ah, 3 out of 4 isn't bad 😉
If I could change it, i wouldn't but i would change my last name. My last name is McCann, it's Irish...as am I, lol. But there was (or is, i'm not sure) an Irish oatmeal company called McCann's oatmeal. (It wasn't all that good)

My name is Rachel, and my name means "Little lamb, an ewe, one with purity" and I have no clue what it means, but I don't like it.If I could change my name, it would be Alex, and it means "Protector of Mankind". That sounds more like me.(I bet some of you thought I would change my name to andy)

I love the name Alex I am actuly writing a story with the Hero named that.

anyway My real name is Theresa, the book my mom had when i was younger said it means harvester, I think there are multipl meanings for it though because I read it means something else somewhere. If i changed my name, I would probably change it To Bettina... which I think means something with copper? i have no clue I don't really want to change my name.

Drusilla I read means Strengh, I read that last night so it was fresh in my mind.

My name is Michael, which means "who is like God?" (question mark included), which is strange because I'm not exactly any religion that has to do with God, Goddess for me! Erm... maybe Sid, Sid is cool. Or James, because that name rocks. Ore ven Liam, because I love it.

My bf won't shut up about how "Godlike" he is! His name is Michael too.
my real name is Gina.... and at this site: site

some girl names gina writes that gina means queen, to rule.. but i kinda doubt that, so i looked somemore, then i found this other site: site 2 where it says that Gina is a female name, that has it's origin from japan(that was the FIRST time i have ever heard that!! but i did find it on more then one site) and it means silvery.... gina is a version of the names, georgina, regina, virginia. then i stumbled onto this site, which said things i've heard before: site 3 that gina is a feamal name, short form of other names and that the origin is italian. anther site said this: REGINA: Latin name meaning "queen." Diminutive, Gina, exists. so i guess it's italian/japanese and means silvery queen... (i kinda picture myself as a queen night elf when i read those words ;😉 LOL i have been playing TOO much world of warcraft.)

if i should change my name, i must say i really like the name peyton, which is english and means the esteat of the warrior.. or POLEXIA(😉 LOL i bet that is a shock.) Polexia is (ay one site) said to be an Australian girls name but i can't find the meaning.... and polexia in norwegian doesn't sound that bad(i've accualy fooled people to think that polexia is my name.. LOL *sighs*)

BTW i love some of the names you guys have!

Eglantine is my real name, & it's the French word for the flower dog-rose or wild-rose (looks like a rose but paler & wilder).

But I have myself called Faith mostly now... need I to explain why, lmao... not necessary in this board I guess... oh & you, that is called schizophrenia indeed :rolleyes0
