Personally im about ready to see male homosexuality portrayed realistically on tv (Will&Grace is so annoying) I think it would have made as much sense to put Spike and Xander together - they had such similar issues in seaon 4.
Also, perhaps if people stop pussyfootin' around the topic, acting like heterosexuals are too easily offended and fragile to see male male hugs and kisses, we would all be a lot stronger and tolerant. Come on, that's not being fair to heterosexuals, its being stereotypical towards them, as if they are all undereducated gay bashers, which they are not. You usually have to see something a few times before you can get used to it.
