What is your biggest complaint about season 7?

i have 3 things, number one is it was the end of the series which sucked because you knew there wasn't going to be anymore after this.

The potentials. Holy crap they annoyed the hell outta me. I don't understand what all the potentials problem was. It's like as soon as they were brought to Buffy, told what the problem was, then they were completely disrespectful of all authority. they suddenly thought they could do it themselves and there is no way they could. they thought they were in control and some of them even thought they were the slayer and better than the slayer. that bugged the hell outta me.

The 3rd thing is how quickly everyone seemed to turn on Buffy. granted she may have done some not so smart things but in the end she was the chosen one to be the slayer. she had defied death twice and that rightfully put her in that place. it seems like everyone just turned on her in the last 4 or 5 eps of the season which is complete BS. especially when Dawn was like "this is my house too." I wanted to rip her throat out b/c i would have been like, "yeah? remember when I died to save you? shut up" Through out the whole season they listened to whatever buffy had to say. even in season 5 when Giles could have killed Dawn and Buffy wouldn't have had to die, he listened to her and let Buffy handle it. That seemed to all go out the window when Xander lost his eye and a bunch of the potentials were killed. No one, except Buffy, realized that they were in a war and in war there are casualties

Every time the potentials were on the screen, it was the only time I was happy that the series was ending. All the constant whining and bitching by the potentials was more than I could handle.

Amen to that. Chosen was way too rushed...and that little 30-second long Scoobie tribute to the beginning of the show with "The world is doomed" was not NEARLY enough. They needed time to give us some major character interaction.

I wholeheartedly agree with this. On the other hand, I absolutely loved S7. To see them ALL, grown up, matured, changed(for the good and the bad) We got to see the Scoobies full potential.

As for the potentials, they were annoying, I agree. Less of them and more of how the main characters were progressing and dealing may have gotten rid of the annoying teenage slayer-wanna-bees.

I am a hypocrite. Bear with me. The potentials did in fact play a pivotal role towards the end. I just think maybe it would have been better if we didn't have to see and hear them until it was necessary.

I loved that Buffy and Spike had a tender thing going on, but I cannot lie, I miss badass Spike.

My favorite episodes are usually the ones with Wiccan Willow and a damn good battle. In this case, it was Showtime. I adored how Will, and Xander and Buffy had planned for Willows barrier to fail. Clever clever clever. When they all got to the construction site, watching Buffy get beat pretty damn bad, but to come out on top and kill the UberVamp, well damn. Excellente x 10

As for The First as a big bad....I'm sorry, a lot of you thought it was lame but I thought it was genius. For physicality they had those ubervamps and Caleb (and bringers, but blahhh). The First was something they could not fight. But he got into their heads and made them all more vulnerable than any big bad before. Knowing the First could always be watching, listening. It was a giant mindf*ck for all of them. Really think about it......very creepy.

I loved watching Willow battle her internal demons...she's a fighter. She didn't think she could help. She didn't even want to. There were more than a few bad experiences where she could have lost control.She rose above it all, and made the biggest contribution than any of them.

The last battle....that fight scene I could watch over and over. Rob Duncan's music makes it even more enjoyable.

In conclusion, there are a few episodes I wasn't crazy about, but all in all, I would have to say season 7 was actually one of my favorites.

So, they were acting like real teenagers if you told a bunch of them that they were special. A little annoying with their attitudes but since I think that's exactly how most real "badass" girls would act, I don't think it takes away from the show.

And I also hate how they turn on Buffy, but again...not a real reason to dislike the show, IMO.

they may have been acting like real teenagers but when your life is in jeopardy don't you suddenly become mature beyond your age? Buffy never acted like that. Even in the earlier seasons when she was snotty and uncooperative with Giles i think that it had deeper meaning. she was THE ONLY ONE. She was alone, no one to help her, no one that knew what she was going through and dealing with. The Potentials had a ton of them. each of the potentials were going through the same thing and had each other to lean on. so i think blowing it off as just being teenagers doesn't work for me.

and the potentials did kinda take away from the show. I wanted season 7 to be a journey with the original scoobies and then all of a sudden we have 15 more charecters thrust upon us in the potentials. I think, Wood, Caleb, The First, those were good adds for the season but the potentials were unnecessary corpses. It seemed like all we were doing while watching it was just waiting for the next one to get picked off and I was unable to concentrate on the rest of the story line.

I actually like the First as the big bad. That scene were it turns into Glory, Adam, The Master, and then finally Buffy was so cool.

Biggest complaint? Kennedy. It was like a complete opposite of Tara. I hated her.

S7 the bad things were the potentials, they were just so annoying, i mean imagine if they werent in it as much, imagine how good S7 would have been!

I didnt like the introduction of that Caleb fella. As far as i can make out after decking the uber vamp he showed up purely so buffy had something to else to fight with for afew episodes and then beat up because she couldnt physically ruff up the first. As for Caleb digging up the ultimate slayer weapon and probably the only thing that could damage him and leading Buffy rith to it... pfff.

Andr those uber vamps, well the first one was hard-as-nails bad-ass ultimate killer vampire and by the end Anya and Dawn were whippin them up!

I must admit to s7 being my least favourite, i liked the idea of the first and the potentials but the way they got there in the end just seemed rushed.

I wouldn't go as far as to say I hated season 7, but a lot of it did get on my nerves.

As others have said, there's too much going on. Too many plots thrown together, hoping to make sense. I have to admit, it took me a while before I understood completely the whole "we brought Buffy back thus screwing up the Slayer line and now everyone is getting brutally stabbed" plot.

The main characters were shoved to the side, giving more screentime to the annoying potentials like Kennedy. And all they seemed to do was critisize Buffy. Love her or loathe her, she had their best interests in mind. Not only was this irritating, it was a waste of screentime that could have been given to the main characters, for example Giles. I would have liked to have seen more reasoning behind his wanting Spike dead, when he seemed to tolerate him before (season 4).

I also don't understand why the Scoobies threw Buffy out of her own house. Ok she wasn't fully prepared for Caleb, but have they not realised by now that Buffy is usually right about these things? There have been previous occasions when they doubted her, but she's always right eg. Living Conditions. I would think after 7 years they would learn to trust her. And Dawn stating that it was her house too? As someone mentioned, Buffy died to save her life not two years before! Biatch :complain:

My biggest complaint I suppose is that it started off strong, it got me all excited (yay more Scooby moments and sibling bonding)... and then it wallowed around a bunch of people I didn't care about. I wanted to see the rest of the main cast get juicy storylines and awesome arcs. It was their last season after all. I somethings think I was the only one who wished that there wasn't a speck of romance/boinkage in season 7 so we could just get on with the meaty plot-lines on lovely character-driven skewers.

Also, I really wish that the First's plan had been a little more... tricksy. The Mayor seemed better at planning, really, and he was only a century or so old.

A lot of stuff. The final moments of "Lessons", and then "Conversations with Dead People" really set The First up to be something really special. A truly dangerous and terrifying villain. And then it just hung around a vineyard, all incorporeal. Huh? Nothing special.
Caleb arrived far to late. Because he was generally creepy, and dangerous and could have taken attention away from the fact that the first could do very little.
Uber Vamps, good idea, but in the long run, take away from the ending of Chosen, because the slayers, really shouldn't be able to do them that much damage. One alone nearly killed Buffy. Even Anya, kills a good few.
The potentials, um, good idea, too much screen time.
Dawn - Comes into her own in season 7, strong, intelligent, able to take care of herself. Then she kicks Buffy out of the House. What a little Bitca.
Not enough Willow. Xander or Giles. I'm done. 🙂
