What is Your favorite Disney Cartoon and Why?

i love DUCKTAILS I love it, i just do, i love,ilove,ilove,ilove,ilove, i love it!!!
It is a master piece and still looks good seeing as it was made in the ate 80s

Ok, wasn't here from the start, but I do want to discuss some Disney.

A couple of days ago mys sister firmly ordered me to try to make some kind of order in our video shelf. As I'm such a nice girl I did what she told me to and what did I find you ask yourself.

Our old Disney movies that's what i found. So obviously I had to watch them and see if they're any good and to my surprise they were. So far I've seen Beaty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid and they are so good. You have to love the music and I didn't remember them having such strong messages. By the way Ariel was only 16. When I was a kid she was so big and you just wanted the adults to get of her back, she was old enough to do what she wanted with her life.

So anyone want to discuss Disney?
 
Disney I love Disney? Never really got in to Beaty and the Beast. Why I do not know. Now The Little Mermaid that was so good.. Yes thay have such strong messages.. So what outher Disney Moives do you like. as you can tell I have a long list of them.
 
When I was a kid my favorite one was Aladdin, but I think I'll have to re-watch it and see if it's any good. I'm a big musical and animation fan so no wonder I love Disney. The songs are so good. I so wish I could see The Little Mermaid in english, I want to hear Tim Curry, but I'm afarid I'll have to settle for the dubbed movies.

Ah I was so in love with Aladdin when I first saw it.

I'm not really into the new Disney movies, haven't seen that many. Still it's the old ones you remember. The little mermaid was my first theater visit as well. My big sis always used to take me to see them every Christmas.

But I never really liked Robin Hood and The Junglebook, they were all to dark and only made me sad.
 
Aladdin was great..The little mermaid was my first theater visit as well.. My Fav. has to be the Lion King. Some of the new one's are not that good.. Robin Hood and The Junglebook were dark and made me sad. But there new favs...Sleeping Beauty was the same why till I re-wached it. Now I love it..
 
I haven't seen Sleeping Beauty. I don't think it was ever realesed here.

Yeah Lion King is good, first time I ever weept during a movie. I couldn't help myself, it was just so sad when Mustafa (is that his name?) died. I loved the Genie in Aladdin. A real trip down memory lane, I had this pyjamas that I loved. It was all grey and white and on the shirt there were a lot of pictures of the genie. I loved that one.
 
Yes Mustafa is his name.. I have a Aladdin bedspred. I also had a little mermaid Bed set. and PJ's. I still get Disney PJ's for gifts. form my Nana. I have about 7 piers of driffent Disney PJ's. I also got the Disney Greatest. Wich have all the hit songs from the Disney Moives.. I have a little oupshision for Disney..
 
Let's see...I really like THE LITTLE MERMAID! After I saw that, it made me enjoy fantasy stuff. I also like Aladin and....what's it called again? Oh well. Oh yeah! It was the Beauty and The Beast.
 
I've never understood why everyone loves The Lion King so much. Everyone I know still think that's a great movie.. I didn't even like when I first saw it when I was.. ten? (Don't remember when it came..)
 
The Lion King is a good movie, but you can'r compare it to Beauty and the Beast or The Little Mermaid, those were great movies. I think it's got a lot to do with the music. We are all musical fans it's just hard for some people to be honest about it. I'm somewhat of an animation/cartoon junkie. I loved watching all the cartoons and I still do.

Besides Disney I have to say that Scooby Doo was my favorite, the old eps when it's dark and the ghost is always a man in a mask and there's no Scrappy Doo or that little boy.
 
Of all the Disney films my all time favourite is Jungle book as its the first Disney film I saw and to a kid Baloo and King Louie (is that spelt right?) are just amazing 😀
But of the recent Disneys films I have to say I love Lilo and Stitch. The characters are funny and well written and Stitch is adoreable 😀

I'm very honest about my musical obsession, but wasn't The Lion King a musical too? I haven't seen it in a long time since I don't really like it, but there are a lot of songs in that movie too, isn't there? Just not as good songs as in Beauty and the Beast or Aladdin.

What's really annoying about all the "new" Disney movies, is that they alway have these two or three characters who are only in the movie to make bad jokes and be annoying. Like Timon and Pumbaa or the stone statues from The Hunchback of Notre Dame. I just find them boring and annoying and they make me not want to see the movie again..
 
The new movies don't have to magic of the old ones, it might be because I'm a wee but to old for them now. But I totally get what you mean with the annoying comic relif. It feels as if the Disney movies (the ones without Pixar) are all based on the same concept and therefor we don't get to see anything new. One the other hand with Pixar there is Finding Nemo and Shrek, but I'd like to see a good cartoon movie. I'm kind of hoping for Spoongebob Squarepants-the movie to be a good movie.

I think all of them are musicals, but as you said the music in Lion King isn't as good as in Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin.
 
I actually like Disney's Hercules (no discourtesy to those Greek mythological purists) because of James Woods's Hades (I love a good tantrum!); and some of the wittier inclusions, like "Herculade," Paul Schaeffer as Hermes, etc. Of course, I'm a big fan of mythological archetypes, anyway. I have to include "Beauty and the Beast" but only because it is so well crafted.

But, as I said, I hated The Lion King the first time I saw it, and I hated Timon and Pumbaa, and I think I was in the age you're supposed to be to like Disney cartoons..

I love Finding Nemo, and Shrek (haven't seen the second one yet though, but I've heard it's supposed to be even better than the first). Oh, and I love Monsters inc. by the way. (Heh, my friend thought it was called Monsters of ink..)

I know this is the wrong thread, but speaking of animated movies, have you seen Spirited Away or My Neighbour Totoro..? I love those..

I've seen Spirited away, love the movie. That's what I mean about good cartoons. A nice story and nicely animated.

Haven't seen the other one, what's it about?
 
eeep the movie freak is going loopy at quite a few movies being mentioned that aren't disney movies. but my fav is Hunchback, Lion King, and Fox and the hound tho I adore them all.
 
Fox and the hound, I've never seen it but I have listened to the tape like a million times. You know those kind of tapes that included a book. You listened to the tape and when you heard a special tone it was time to flipp to the next page.

How come these old movies never been realesed on dvd?

I love Spirited Away. Totoro is made by the same director, Hayao Miyazaki. It's about a family, two sisters and their father (and their mother who's in the hospital).. They move to a new house and they get to know Totoro (a weird creatures).. (Well there are actually a lot of Totoros.. heh.).. hard to explain but I liked it even more than Spirited Away.
