For me it was Anya in "The Body" she was just so clueless to the death experince and it made it soo sad..i think it went like this..

"But I don't understand, I don't understand how this all happens, how we go through this, I mean I knew her, and now she's...there's just a body, and I don't understand how come she just can't get back in it and not be dead anymore. It's stupid! It's mortal! and it's stupid! and Xander's crying and not talking, and I was having fruit punch and I was thinking that well Joyce will never have fruit punch, ever, and she'll never have eggs, or yawn, or brush her hair, not ever, and no one will explain to me why."

ya i think that's how it went. so sad..

That one made me bawl!!
I agree with that. Anya being cluless. It was all ok til she said Xander cried. Thats it for me everytime.

I cry every time I watch The Body, but I don't think Anya's speech is the saddest moment though.

Personally, I have to admit that the yellow crayon speech makes me cry ever time as well...

But, the scene that probably takes the prize... Five By Five.. Faith hitting Angel, begging him to kill her.. Gah...

Yep, the "yellow crayon" speech and Faith in Five by Five are both tear-worthy moments.

Definitaly agree on the last one... one of Faith's best scene ever!
God, i have so many of these moments! it's hard to remember them all! but let me try to get a few down.

When Spike cries when Buffy dies in 'The Gift' he was just so crushed! makes me cry everytime.
When Oz leaves Willow.
When Buffy kills Angel (even though i'm not a Bangel!)
Spike's speech to Buffy in 'Touched'
Cordelia's death in 'You're Welcome'
Doyles death
Fred's death
the last 15 minutes of 'Chosen'
and from Illyria's line 'Do you want me to lie to you now?' until the end credits in 'Not Fade Away'

and, oddly, the last few minutes of 'Power Play' when they all raise their hands and join in Angel's plan.

"Close your eyes" from Buffy.

Cause I know what's coming next.

"Giles, I'm sixteen years old, I don't want to die" <-- Buffy, Prophecy Girl

&&&

"I want my life to be with you." "I don't" <-- Buffy/Angel, The Prom

&&&

"I can't breathe, Will. I feel like I can't breathe." <-- Buffy, The Prom (it was a sad eppie, okay 🙁)

&&&

"I was happy. Wherever I ... was ... I was happy. At peace. I knew that everyone I cared about was all right. I knew it. Time ... didn't mean anything ... nothing had form ... but I was still me, you know? And I was warm ... and I was loved ... and I was finished. Complete. I don't understand about theology or dimensions, or ... any of it, really ... but I think I was in heaven. And now I'm not. I was torn out of there. Pulled out ... by my friends" <--Buffy, After Life

&&&

"BUFFY: I'm *not*! I *have* to do these things, 'cause, 'cause when I stop, then she's really gone. And I'm trying, Dawn, I am really trying to take care of things. But I don't even know what I'm doing! Mom *always* knew.

DAWN: Nobody's asking you to be mom.

BUFFY: Well who's gonna be if I'm not? Huh, Dawn? Have you even thought about that? Who's gonna make things better? Who's gonna take care of us?

DAWN: Buffy...

BUFFY: I didn't mean to push you away, I didn't. I just, I couldn't let you see me... Oh god, Dawny. I don't know what we're gonna do. I'm scared!" <-- Forever

&&

But my number one tear jerker...

"It is! It's wrong. I'm wrong. Tell me that I'm wrong, please... Please don't forgive me, please... Please don't... Please don't forgive me..." <--Buffy, Dead Things 🙂cry2: )

Those are all great ones
There has really only been one moment when I've cried during the show. Of course, there's been a lot of times where I've felt sad and upset, and you have all named them.

I cried during "The Prom". When Buffy is talking to Willow after Angel breaks up with her. "Willow, I can't breathe" just really gets to me. And I'm not even a Bangel fan, but that moment just really upsets me.

Doyles speech in Hero gets me every time:

Doyle: When the chips are down, and you're at the end of your rope you need someone that you can count on. And that's what you'll find here - someone that will go all the way, no matter what. So don't lose hope. Come on over to our offices and you'll see that there's still heroes in this world. (Clears his throat) Is that it? Am I done?"

But I think my prize goes to Freds death in Hole in the World:

Fred: (holding onto Wes's shoulders, looks into his eyes, quivering)
I'm not scared. I'm not scared. I'm not scared.
(her grip softens, she can't hold herself up)
Please, Wesley, why can't I stay?
(she goes still as Wes holds her in his arms)

Wesley: (looks at her limp body in his arms)
Please...
(hugs her)
Please...

I shiver just thinking about that one...

Nix

I hear yas - It gets me every time too - first time i saw that ep i cried all weekend :(
I'm with croft storm and also in your welcome,
Where Cordy says:I can't stay this isn't me anymore
Angel: Cordy i need you here...
Cordy: Angel don't make this hard...

Then...Turing she runs to him then kisses him...
The bl**y phone rings it is like damn that bee in the X-files the movie something always ruines the moment!

Angel:I don't have to get that
Cordy:that you need to get..
While Angel is on the phone Cordy says : Oh and your welcome...

Angel: But she was standing right here...Looks up at the empty space...

"Oh i see she never...then says Thank you..."

Wow, there were so many moments when the shows made me cry really hard. The one I think I cried the most though was when Oz left Willow. When Willow says "Oz, don't you love me". Alyson Hannigan just nailed that scene and line.

The line that had me bawling like a baby.............'Hi i'm Riley'

Just teasing.

The Speech Xander gives Buffy when Riley is leaving is a bit of a churner, but none of the parts ever brought me to tears. My most powerful moment that could have done it was when Giles sees Dead Jenny in his bed though.

Angelic Slayer
Angelic Slayer
"hi, I'm Riley" had me more cringing I think, really is a depressing kinda moment =( *wink wink*
S
Spirit_Of_Fred
he he!' hi, my name is riley' :P
Faith breaking down in Angel Season 1 gets me everytime.

Other than that I always get strangely teared up in Becoming where Buffy gives her 'I wish I was upstairs talking about boys, or even studying but I have to save the world...again'. Noone else seems to think that moment is as sad as I do, but it makes me choked up everytime

Lets see here. Theres a long list.

Innocence:
Buffy:You must be so disappointed in me.

Giles: No. (she looks at him) No, no, I'm not.

Buffy: But this is all my fault.

Giles: No. I don't believe it is. Do you want me to wag my finger at
you and tell you that you acted rashly? You did. A-and I can. I know
that you loved him. And... he... has proven more than once that he loved
you. You couldn't have known what would happen. The coming months a-are
gonna, are gonna be hard... I, I suspect on all of us, but... if it's
guilt you're looking for, Buffy, I'm, I'm not your man. All you will get
from me is, is my support. And my respect.

Becoming pt2:
Xander: Come on, Will. Look, you don't have a choice here. You gotta
wake up. I need you, Will. I mean, how am I gonna pass trig, you know?
(chuckles) And who am I gonna call every night... and talk about
everything we did all day? You're my best friend. You've always...

He looks at her for a long moment, looks away for an instant and then at
her again, struggling with his emotions.

Xander: I love you.

Her face twitches and her hand gives his a squeeze. Xander's eyes widen
in hope.

Xander: Willow?

She takes a few breaths before responding, with her eyes still closed.

Willow: (whispers) Oz? (speaks) Oz?

right through to the end of the episode.

Just all of Lovers Walk in general.

The Prom: but not the bit others have mentioned.
Jonathan: We have one more award to give out. Is Buffy Summers here tonight? Did she, um...

Jonathan: This is actually a new category. First time ever. I guess there were a lot of write-in ballots, and, um, the prom committee asked me to read this. "We're not good friends. Most of us never found the time to get to know you, but that doesn't mean we haven't noticed you. We don't talk about it much, but it's no secret that Sunnydale High isn't really like other high schools. A lot of weird stuff happens here."

Jonathan: "But, whenever there was a problem or something creepy happened, you seemed to show up and stop it. Most of the people here have been saved by you, or helped by you at one time or another. We're proud to say that the Class of '99 has the lowest mortality rate of any graduating class in Sunnydale history." (applause from the crowd) "And we know at least part of that is because of you. So the senior class, offers its thanks, and gives you, uh, this."

Jonathan: It's from all of us, and it has written here, "Buffy Summers, Class Protector."

Wild at Heart:
Willow : Oz... Don't you love me?

Oz : (Holding her pressing his forehead to hers as she sobs.) My whole life... I've never loved anything else.

Fool For Love:
Buffy: You're beneath me.
Buffy turns and walks off into the night, leaving Spike alone in the dark alley.
He begins to gather up the money, stifling a sob.

Crush;
Spike: No, it's not that easy. We have something, Buffy. (Buffy is walking up the stairs to the front door of her house. Spike follows) It's not pretty, but it's real, and there's nothing either one of us can do about it.

Buffy opens the door and enters, turning to face Spike who is right on her heels.

Spike: Like it or not, I'm in your life, you can't just shut me out.

He stops suddenly at the doorway as an invisible force prevents him from entering. Buffy stands right inside the door, giving him a grim look.

Spike stares in surprise, gives a tentative smile, not quite getting it yet. It begins to Dawn on him that his invitation to the Summers house has been revoked.

Buffy steps back and closes the door in his face.

All of The Body but especially Anyas bit.

The Gift when you see Spike crying.

Tabula Rasa when Michelle Branch is singing

Hells Bells:
XANDER: Maybe we just went too fast.
ANYA: Look, everybody has thoughts. It's natural, it doesn't mean that, that getting married is wrong.
XANDER: I know, I know...
ANYA: (desperate) Look, you're just shaken up, okay? You just calm down and we'll start over, okay?

Xander looks over at the main room.

Shot of Xander's Parents yelling at each other. Mr. Harris is standing while Mrs. Harris sits in a chair.
Shot of Xander watching.
Closer shot of Xander's Dad yelling angrily. Pan down to Xander's Mom arguing back at him. It looks like he tries to hit her and she grabs his hand.
Cut back to Xander still watching them.

XANDER: (tearful) We can't start over. If this is a mistake, it's forever, and ... I don't want to hurt you. Not that way.

Close shot on their hands separating, falling to their sides.

XANDER: I'm sorry. (Anya crying) I am so sorry.

Grave:
The whole yellow crayon speech

Selfless:
XANDER Anya, wait.

ANYA Xander, please. Just go away.

XANDER Whatever's between us - it doesn't matter. You shouldn't be alone in this.

ANYA Yes, I should. My whole life, I've just clung to whatever came along.

XANDER Well, speaking as a clingee - I kinda didn't mind.

ANYA Thanks. For everything.

Xander nods, realizing that this is her rejecting his offer to help.

ANYA Xander - what if I'm really nobody?

XANDER Don't be a dope.

ANYA I'm a dope?

XANDER Sometimes.

ANYA That's a start.

And thats just Buffy.

When Buffy gives her speech in "The Gift" at the part where she says, "the hardest thing in this world is to live in it" ....that gets me everytime.

All of the ones everyone mentioned are great moments. Makes me wanna watch them all over again!!

The Body always makes me cry, but it's not so much a quote as the feeling in the whole episode.. But the scene when Giles comes over to the house and Buffy yells "We're not supposed to move the body" always makes me cry lots.

Willow and Buffy talking about Angel, Buffy explaining to Willow, what she must do in the episode "Angel."

Willow: Wow! And it is kinda novel how he'll stay young and handsome forever, although you'll still get wrinkly and die, and... Oh, and what about the children? I'll be quiet now.
Buffy: No, it's okay. I need to hear this. I need to get over him so I can...
Willow: So that you can...
Buffy: Like Xander said, I'm the Slayer, and he's a... vampire. God, I can't! He's never done anything to hurt me... Okay, no, I need to stop thinking about this. Okay, let's give another half an hour and maybe something will sink in. And then I'm going home for some major moping.

Buffy and Angel's good bye kiss in "Angel."

Angel: Look, this can't...
Buffy: ...ever be anything. I know. For one thing, you're, like, two hundred and twenty-four years older than I am.
Angel: I just gotta... I gotta walk away from this.
Buffy: I know. Me, too. One of us has to go here.
Angel: I know.

Buffy shots down Xander for a date in "Prophecy Girl."

Xander: Um... You know, Buffy, uh, Spring Fling is a... time for students to gather and... Oh, God! Buffy, I want you to go to the dance with me. You and me, on a date.
Buffy: I-I don't know what to say.
Xander: Well, you're not laughing. So that's a good start. Buffy, I like you. A lot. And I know we're friends, and we've had experiences... We've fought some blood-sucking fiends, and that's all been a good time. But I want more. I wanna dance with you.
Buffy: Xander, you're one of my best friends. You and Willow...
Xander: Well, Willow's not looking to date you. Or if she is, she's playing it pretty close to the chest.
Buffy: I don't want to spoil the friendship that we have.
Xander: Well, I don't want to spoil it either. But that's not the point, is it? You either feel a thing or you don't.
Buffy: I don't. Xander, I'm, I'm sorry. I-I just don't think of you that way.
Xander: Well, try. I'll wait.
Buffy: Xander...
Xander: Nah. Forget it. I'm not him. I mean, I guess a guy's gotta be undead to make time with you.
Buffy: That's really harsh.
vLook, I'm sorry. I don't handle rejection well. Funny! Considering all the practice I've had, huh?
Buffy: Xander, I'm sorry, I don't know...
Xander: You know what? Let's just not.

Buffy rejecting Angel in "When She Was Bad"

Buffy: So, is there danger at the Bronze? Should I beware?
Angel: I can't help thinking I've done something to make you angry. And that bothers me more than I'd like.
Buffy: I'm not angry. I don't know where that comes from.
Angel: What are you afraid of? Me? Us?
Buffy: Could you contemplate getting over yourself for a second? There's no 'us'. Look, Angel, I'm sorry if I was supposed to spend the summer mooning over you, but I didn't. I moved on. To the living.

Buffy and Angel talking about not being together in "Reptile Boy."

Angel: What are you sayin', you wanna have a date?
Buffy: No.
Angel: You don't wanna have a date?
Buffy: Who said 'date'? I-I-I never said 'date'.
Angel: Right. You just wanna have coffee or somethin'.
Buffy: Coffee?
Angel: I knew this was gonna happen.
Buffy: What? What do you think is happening?
Angel: You're sixteen years old. I'm two hundred and forty-one.
Buffy: I've done the math.
Angel: You don't know what you're doing, you don't know what you want...
Buffy: Oh. No, I, I think I do. I want out of this conversation.
Angel: Listen, if we date you and I both know one thing's gonna lead to another.
Buffy: One thing already has led to another. You think it's a little late to be reading me a warning label?v Angel: I'm just tryin' to protect you. This could get outta control.
Buffy: Isn't that the way it's supposed to be?
Angel: This isn't some fairy tale. When I kiss you, you don't wake up from a deep sleep and live happily ever after.
Buffy: No. When you kiss me I wanna die.

Buffy and Angel I love you moment in "Lie to Me".

Buffy: Who's Drusilla? And don't lie to me. I'm tired of it.
Angel: Some lies are necessary.
Buffy: For what?
Angel: Sometimes the truth is worse. You live long enough, you find that out.
Buffy: I can take it. I can take the truth.
Angel: Do you love me?
Buffy: What?
Angel: Do you?
Buffy: I love you. I don't know if I trust you.
Angel: Maybe you shouldn't do either.
Buffy: Maybe I'm the one who should decide!
Angel: I did a lot of unconscionable things when I became a vampire. Drusilla was the worst. She was... an obsession of mine. She was pure and sweet and chaste...
Buffy: And you made her a vampire.
Angel: First I made her insane. Killed everybody she loved. Visited every mental torture on her I could devise. She eventually fled to a convent, and on the day she took her holy orders, I turned her into a demon.
Buffy: Well. I asked for the truth.

Her First "Surprise"

Buffy: You almost went away today.
Angel: We both did.
Buffy: Angel... I feel like I lost you... You're right, though. We can't be sure of anything.
Angel: Shhh. I...
Buffy: You what?
Angel: I love you. I try not to, but I can't stop.
Buffy: Me, me, too. I can't either.
Angel: Buffy, maybe we shouldn't...
Buffy: Don't. Just kiss me.

Meeting Angelus in "Innocence"

Buffy: Ohhh. Oh, my God! I was freaking out! You just disappeared.
Angelus: What? I took off.
Buffy: But you didn't say anything. You just left.
Angelus: Yeah. Like I really wanted to stick around after that.
Buffy: What?
Angelus: You got a lot to learn about men, kiddo. Although I guess you proved that last night.
Buffy: What are you saying?
Angelus: Let's not make an issue out of it, okay? In fact, let's not talk about it at all. It happened.
Buffy: I, I don't understand. Was it m-me? Was I not good?
Angelus: You were great. Really. I thought you were a pro.
Buffy: How can you say this to me?
Angelus: Lighten up. It was a good time. It doesn't mean like we have to make a big deal.
Buffy: It is a big deal!
Angelus: It's what? Bells ringing, fireworks, a dulcet choir of pretty little birdies? Come on, Buffy. It's not like I've never been there before.
Buffy: Don't touch me.
Angelus: I should've known you wouldn't be able to handle it.
Buffy: Angel! I love you.
Angelus: Love you, too. I'll call you.

Cordy breaks up with Xander in "Bothered ,Bewitched and Bewildered"

Cordelia: Your clothes... You look so good.
Xander: Oh. I let Buffy dress me. Well, not physically.
Cordelia: Perfect. You had to make this harder, didn't you?
Xander: Okay, clearly the fact that I please you visually has got us off on the wrong foot here.
Cordelia: Xander...
Xander: Let me finish. I've been thinking a lot about us lately... the why and the wherefore. You know, once, twice, a kissy here, a kissy there. And you can chalk it all up to hormones. A-and maybe that's all we have here. Tawdry teen lust. But maybe not. Maybe something in you sees something special inside me. And vice versa. I mean, I think I do. See something. So...
Cordelia: Xander... Thank you. It's beautiful. I wanna break up.
Xander: Okay, not quite the reaction I was looking for.
Cordelia: I know. I'm sorry. It's just... Who are we kidding? Even if parts of us do see specialness, we don't fit.
Xander: Yeah! Okay... Do you know what's a good day to break up with somebody? Any day besides Valentine's Day! I mean, what, were you running low on dramatic irony?
Cordelia: I know. I didn't mean to do it this way. I...
Xander: Well, you did.

Buffy in "Passion"

Buffy: I can't hold on to the past anymore. Angel has gone. Nothing's ever gonna bring him back.

She Kisses and Kills Him, "Becoming Pt 2"

Angel: Buffy? What's going on? Where are we? I-I don't remember.
Buffy: Angel?
Angel: You're hurt. Oh, Buffy... God. I... I feel like I haven't seen you in months. Oh, my God, everything's so muddled. I... Oh... Oh, Buffy... What's happening?
Buffy: Shh. Don't worry about it. I love you.
Angel: I love you.
Buffy: Close your eyes.
Angel: Buffy...

I have more a lot more.

wow, yeah, there's probably not one here mentioned that i haven't cried to.

the entire episode the body

the end of the gift, buffy's speech to dawn and the shot of her diving off the platform

doyle's speech at the end of hero, when he's on camera

not so much the dialogue, but when tara gets shot in Seeing Red and willow frantically tries to get her to wake-up

the end of you're welcome, after cordy kisses angel, then angel turns around to answer to phone and cordy's in the background smiling and says 'you're welcome'. gets me everytime.

definately at the end of becoming pt.2, just all of it

when willow walks to tara's grave in s7, puts the stones on her grave, traces the letters and says 'it's me'. ah, that's was so sad!

i could go on forever. honestly, before i started watching btvs, i never really ever cried. now, after watching so many emotional moments on the show, i get really emotional myself a lot of times.

lol i have a lot of them.

Most of the qoutes in The Body make me cry
What Buffy says to Dawn just before she jumps in The Gift makes me cry
uh Right Before Buffy kills angel in Becomming PT 2
The Conversation Willow and Xander have in Grave
soooo many others over the years...
