Buffy is a Slayer, yes, but still human so she makes a lot of mistakes, many bad decisions. What would you say was the worst?

In addition to Parker, probably her sexy dance with Xander in When She Was Bad. I hated how she led him on like that

Trying to kill her friends in Normal again.

Not realizing sooner that she wanted Riley to stay so she could have gotten to the helicopter in time.

Skytteflickan88 agrees: I think we were told in a Q&A that they weren't effected that much by the Glow, and that they were in control of their actions. I don't think Scott allie was specific. I can't remember that well
Then that DEFINITELY makes that Buffy's worst mistake ever. Being in control of her actions and having sex with Angel after last time when he turned into Angelus? Um...

But it might actually be argued that Twilight was a greater menace than Angelus ever was, therefore she would have been chamging the season's Big Bad into a Smaller Bad.

I'm guessing it has the same effect as a few drinks. Just not volountary drinks.

I can't even dislike her for it. I just feel sorry for her. She had been manipulated for a year, then she seemingly convinces herself that Angel means well and might be right (that's just me guessing) and she lets go. I'm suprised about the lack of angst though. Angry sex would make more sense.

Makes me think the glow is relatively strong. it seemed that way, but then Allie said they were responsible and I didn't know what to think.

Worst decision? The giraffe pants:

The Twangel thing, if it counts at all. The writers can't seem to agree on how much the Glow affected things, which doesn't really make sense to me because if the Glow only affected them a tiny bit, why have it at all? Bottom line, I don't believe Buffy would've slept with Twangel if not for the Glow.

Not being a better mother figure to Dawn in Season 6 would be my second choice. But again, there's lots of underlying circumstances.

Do the writers contradict each other?
I'm not going to even address Season 8 cuz so much of that "season" is out of character to the point where it doesn't even feel like Joss had anything to do with it.

In my opinion, it was Buffy using Spike in Season 6 knowing how he felt about her. Everything else I can forgive cuz I didn't see her knowingly hurting someone (Parker, the gang etc.) but vampire or no vampire she had no right to treat Spike the way she did.

Worst mistake...him, sleeping with Angel in season 8 yea. I think she and Angel were in control. She was risking a lot testing that. I mean, in I Will Remember You (even though they don't follow their own advice) they talk about how it's better to wait to act on anything because they didn't know how it could all play out. At least in that ep of Angel they knew he was human. Buffy sleeping with Angel is season 8 was such a dumb.

Not staking Spike. I don't care if it miraculously worked out in the end, at the time it was a very irresponsible decision. Ditto for not killing Ben or threatening to kil lher friends in The Gift.

Let both Angelus and Spike carry on as long as they did. She should have staked Spike by the end of S2 (that I love S2-Spike and loathe him post-S2 has definitely something to do with it, I'm not going to lie) and should have come to the decision that Angelus has to die much, much sooner.

Agreed... the Season 8 shenanigans with Twilight/Angel rank as her worst, IMO, but the way she kept shoving Dawn off on whoever would take her during Season 6 is pretty bad, too. I mean, she died so she could save her life and the world... It made no sense to me that she would just forget about her so often like that.

To me the biggest, and probably the most tragic, mistake that Buffy ever made was never actually forgiving and trusting Faith after Season 4. Why, if she could forgive Angel for all that he had done as Angelus and Willow for going dark, and even Xander for summoning the dancing demon, couldn't she extend the same courtesy to Faith? I always thought that the Chosen Two should have been friends rather than enemies

I think part of that could be because Buffy and Faith didn't have a solid relationship before the badness started. They weren't good friends yet, just casual friends.

I think in Faith's case it was way more personal. It's things Faith did to HER that she can't forgive for. Forgiveness means gaining back trust. Being in the same room together, feel that they won't do the things to them again. I don't think it was about the murdering, assigning to evil and all that. She didn't hurt Buffy in the Slayer to Slayer sense, but more in a person to person sense.

For me, going against Giles and the rest at the end of s5 in not wanting to sacrifice Dawn. I understand completely why she couldn't or wouldn't and I feel a lot for her at that moment but to willingly let the world get sucked more or less into hell where Dawn would most likely die soon along with countless of other innocent people, Buffy's friends and perhaps herself... yes, that's a bad decision to me.
