1. What kind of crowd did you hang with?
I guess nowadays you would call them 'The Nerds'

2. Were you studious or a slacker?
Depends on if I liked the subject (English, Geography, History - Studious....Maths, French, Latin - serious slacker)

3. Join any clubs?
Chess club......Model making club (Told you I was a nerd!)

4. Which teacher did you absolutely loathe with a passion?
Gym teacher......he was a sadistic Bword.....

5. Ever get detention?
Oh yes......mainly for mucking about in lessons

6. Were you a frequent ditcher?
Never....My school was very strict on attendance

7. Your thoughts on cheerleaders?
I'm British.....no such animal when I went to school

8. What was your wardrobe like?
School had a uniform....if you didn't wear it you got sent home to change (Getting caught twice meant temporary suspension)

No such thing when I went to school (Reports to parents were verbal given on Parent/Teacher nights)

10. Can you remember your locker combination?
Didn't have them till my last year....Then they were just key opening.

11. How many times did you avoid gym class?
Not as many as I would have liked......you had to be unfit to play Soccer/Rugby/Cricket (depending on the time of year)

12. Favourite meal in the cafeteria?
All of them.....I was a real pig!

13. Who was your big crush?
Girl in my class......funnily enough called Sarah (Looked a bit like SMG now I think about it)!

1. What kind of crowd did you hang with?
With a bunch of lesbians who were in the closet like me...we all found out years later we were all gay. Let's just say that realisation was rather strange.

2. Were you studious or a slacker?
Studious

3. Join any clubs?
Nope, we don't do that here.

4. Which teacher did you absolutely loathe with a passion?
My English teacher. He was such a lazy man and we just had to learn vocab. I had to correct him several times and I was 13!

5. Ever get detention?
A few times.

6. Were you a frequent ditcher?
Yes, I made my teachers believe I had a chronic stomach problem!

7. Your thoughts on cheerleaders?
We don't have them here, but would have been ok to have.

8. What was your wardrobe like?
I was mousy, really. I felt uncomfortable with myself so that reflected in my outfit.

9. Ever forge your parents' signature on a report card, principal's note, etc?
Once a week, lol.

10. Can you remember your locker combination?
Didn't have a locker, couldn't afford it!

11. How many times did you avoid gym class?
Plenty!

12. Favourite meal in the cafeteria?
We take our food from home in my country 🙂

13. Who was your big crush?
My friend. She was my idol with every single thing! We nearly dated but she 'decided' to be straight again. Oh well, I've got the best girlfriend now 🙂

1. What kind of crowd did you hang with?
The regular average kids. Not popular (at least the rest of my gang isn't) but not the excluded. I'm kinda the shy nerdy and very gay little pet of my friends.

2. Were you studious or a slacker?
Lazy but studious. I don't study a lot but I always get straight As (not in math tho).

3. Join any clubs?
Nope. We don't have clubs to join here in Brazil.

4. Which teacher did you absolutely loathe with a passion?
I like most of my teachers.

5. Ever get detention?
Nope.

6. Were you a frequent ditcher?
Also nope.

7. Your thoughts on cheerleaders?
I don't know. We don't have cheerleaders here.

8. What was your wardrobe like?
We use the school outfits here so we don't really have a large go-to-school wardrobe.

9. Ever forge your parents' signature on a report card, principal's note, etc?
I'm too righteous for that.

10. Can you remember your locker combination?
Never had a locker.

11. How many times did you avoid gym class?
It was required.

12. Favourite meal in the cafeteria?
My school's cafeteria food kinda grosses me out.

13. Who was your big crush?
My best friend used to be my crush.

@Foxy I had no need to. I could just cut out without anyone saying anything. Just in the middle of the day I could leave if I wanted. No need to forge signatures.

1. What kind of crowd did you hang with?
A crowd of about 15/16, mostly made up of dorks.

2. Were you studious or a slacker?
Both. I put in the least amount of effort to get 5 Highers - the Scottish equivalent to university entry requirement.

3. Join any clubs?
Once in a movie club that seemed to only watch the original Star Wars (this was before the prequels). I got bored of that quick.

4. Which teacher did you absolutely loathe with a passion?
Hmm, I can't think of many. I didn't care enough to bother any teachers.

5. Ever get detention?
Our school didn't do detention. You'd get suspended, which seemed more like a reward than a punishment.

6. Were you a frequent ditcher?
Now and again, but I still wanted to pass those stupid Highers.

7. Your thoughts on cheerleaders?
We didn't have cheerleaders.

8. What was your wardrobe like?
Smart. We didn't have uniforms but you weren't allowed to dress however you liked, though no one enforced it much. My school was one that had stabbings and bomb threats so there were other things to worry about lol.

9. Ever forge your parents' signature on a report card, principal's note, etc?
Yeah, easy.

10. Can you remember your locker combination?
I didn't have a locker. It wasn't mandatory

11. How many times did you avoid gym class?
Most of the time. That's where those forged notes came in.

12. Favourite meal in the cafeteria?
Crispy cake. Honestly they had the best rice crispie cakes I've ever had.

13. Who was your big crush?
A guy who is now a total douche. Dodged a bullet.

My school was one that had stabbings and bomb threats so there were other things to worry about lol.
We had stabbings, bomb threats and shootings. And the occasional car running through the campus on a police chase. (it only happened once though, but still)

Aaaah childhood, I look on it fondly.
November
November
I rekon now that is just "city" life
1. What kind of crowd did you hang with?
A group that wasn't the cool kids but wasn't the unpopular either. Strongly in the middle...the cool kids would say hi as would the unpopular. It's was pretty much the best place as we flew under the radar and didn't have to deal with a lot of the typical high school drama.

2. Were you studious or a slacker?
I did just enough to get mostly B's.

3. Join any clubs?
Do sports count? Other than basketball I didn't join anything.

4. Which teacher did you absolutely loathe with a passion?
Our school has a sub who came frequently names Mrs. K who was a nasty old woman that everyone hated.

5. Ever get detention?
Not in high school, but all the time in elementary.

6. Were you a frequent ditcher?
Nope.

7. Your thoughts on cheerleaders?
No thoughts really.

8. What was your wardrobe like?
Khakis and polo shirts (school dress code) and/or basketball shorts and tank.

9. Ever forge your parents' signature on a report card, principal's note, etc?
Once or twice.

10. Can you remember your locker combination?
Didn't have a locker.

1. What kind of crowd did you hang with?
I don't know how to define my group of friends from school. Definitely not popular, but not hatchet either. We were kinda weird. Laughing was our main priority.

2. Were you studious or a slacker?
I guess a bit of both, but leaning more towards slacker (more so once I started smoking weed). Getting stoned before exams was a 50/50 in the success rate.

3. Join any clubs?
No, ta.

4. Which teacher did you absolutely loathe with a passion?
Mr. Colquhoun.

5. Ever get detention?
No detention at my school. Just got constant referrals to the assistant head teacher. You know once they hit out with that "red referral" you're in trouble. Red was the colour of the paper. It went yellow>pink>red in order of naughtiness. Jokes on them though 'cos I was colour blind.

6. Were you a frequent ditcher?

Yeah. I'd say that was my downfall at school. Definitely once 4th year started, I was outta there as often as I could get away with it. My friend and I would usually got buy some cigs and go bus journeys out to the countryside, or down to the hospital canteen toilets to get drunk. I got a "doggers card" in the end (it had to be signed by teachers in each class and by your parents at the end of each day. I refused to get my parents to sign it on the grounds that I was 16. I could marry and live alone at that age, so I got to sign it myself at the end of the day instead, so the doggers card idea turned out to be... wait for it... pointless!

7. Your thoughts on cheerleaders?
Something on American TV.

8. What was your wardrobe like?
Weird. And lots of make-up.

9. Ever forge your parents' signature on a report card, principal's note, etc?
Nah, just signed my own name. I won that argument with my guidance teacher.

10. Can you remember your locker combination?
Didn't have one. I think only elitist 5th and 6th year students had lockers. Freaks.

11. How many times did you avoid gym class?
Every single time with the exception being when we had basketball.

12. Favourite meal in the cafeteria?
Sachets of low fat mayonnaise.

13. Who was your big crush?
A guy who was in pretty much all of my classes. He was part of the middling crowd too. He had a good sense of humour and always made teachers snap which was a lawl and a half.

You're color blind?
1. What kind of crowd did you hang with?

A lot of the same crowd I'm with now. People come and go but it's a similar group. We have a laugh but are quite insular.

2. Were you studious or a slacker?

Smart slacker. As in minimum effort but still at the top end in school. The lack of effort interest only really became an issue at uni.

3. Join any clubs?

Not in senior school that I can remember. If I did it was short lived.

4. Which teacher did you absolutely loathe with a passion?

I got on well enough with the teachers. I didn't hassle them so they didn't hassle me. Although one did accuse me of vandalising a bus. He was a dick.

5. Ever get detention?

Only class detention and I resented that.

6. Were you a frequent ditcher?

I'd stretch an illness out for a few extra days but not one for really ditching.

7. Your thoughts on cheerleaders?

I'd like some please.

8. What was your wardrobe like?

Uniform - scruffy.

9. Ever forge your parents' signature on a report card, principal's note, etc?

No never had the need.

10. Can you remember your locker combination?

No lockers for us.

11. How many times did you avoid gym class?

Why avoid P.E.? It was the best lesson of the week and a welcome break from the rest of the boredom.

12. Favourite meal in the cafeteria?

I can't remember. Normally had packed lunch. Think they had a nice flapjack.

13. Who was your big crush?

I didn't like the big girls.

1. What kind of crowd did you hang with?
We didn't have a lot of different types of crowds in my tiny school, but mostly, people knew me because I was one of the best students of my year (second best probably in high school) and I knew some of the popular crowd. I guess I hung out with the "normal" crowd?

2. Were you studious or a slacker?
Studious. Always have been, thanks to my mother forcing me my whole life. I liked studying and getting good grades though. Still, I was too much of a good girl and too afraid of my mom to not be a good student.

3. Join any clubs?
Not in high school thankfully!

4. Which teacher did you absolutely loathe with a passion?
In high school, no one? But there was this Chemistry/Physics teacher who thought he was the shit and embarrassed me in class once or twice.

5. Ever get detention?
Never in my life.

6. Were you a frequent ditcher?
We couldn't ditch in my school, but sometimes my mother let me skip class - when I wanted to go to a concert or a movie premiere or something (and I usually went with her to those). Also, I always missed the Easter service at my school. Yes, it was a catholic school. Not a hardcore one though.

7. Your thoughts on cheerleaders?
There was no cheerleading at my school. However, in American movies and shows, cheerleaders always seem to be elitists...

8. What was your wardrobe like?
Same like it is now I guess. I finished high school three years ago. I wear minimalist, rock chic clothing, mostly in black.

9. Ever forge your parents' signature on a report card, principal's note, etc?
Never had to (not that I would have ever. Good girl, remember?)

10. Can you remember your locker combination?
Didn't have any lockers.

11. How many times did you avoid gym class?
I couldn't cut class so... I mean, my school was in the middle of nowhere and teenagers don't drive in Portugal. You can only get a driver's licence once you turn 18. However, I managed to get out of gym in my senior year. That was awesome!

12. Favourite meal in the cafeteria?
Everything was awful! I think, fish sticks?

13. Who was your big crush?
Hmm...I only had one crush during my senior year. The guy was pretty but an uneducated idiot. Not my finest moment...

1. What kind of crowd did you hang with?
We were the invisible kids. The ones you go to school with but never really quite remember, but we liked it that way

2. Were you studious or a slacker?
Studious

3. Join any clubs?
Our school didn't really do clubs

4. Which teacher did you absolutely loathe with a passion?
None of them, we always had to show teachers the utmost respect at all times and to be fair, they all pretty much deserved that

5. Ever get detention?
Nope, never #schoolswot

6. Were you a frequent ditcher?
Nope, never #schoolswot

7. Your thoughts on cheerleaders?
Our school didn't have them

8. What was your wardrobe like?
Lots of navy blue!

9. Ever forge your parents' signature on a report card, principal's note, etc?
Nope, never #schoolswot

10. Can you remember your locker combination?
Our lockers had keys

11. How many times did you avoid gym class?
Once or twice, due to surfing the crimson wave most probably

12. Favourite meal in the cafeteria?
The drinks machine did a great vegetable soup - seriously, it was amazing! I used to dunk my sandwiches in it.

13. Who was your big crush?
Actually didn't crush on anyone in high school at all, it was only when I left that I started

#schoolswot?
1. What kind of crowd did you hang with?
I had friends in all the different groups in school. When I bothered to show up I just hung out with whoever was there at the time. But the only ones I'm still in contact with are my sort-of nerd friends.

2. Were you studious or a slacker?
Serious slacker...

3. Join any clubs?
We don't have real clubs here...

4. Which teacher did you absolutely loathe with a passion?
Lit and Hebrew(was the same one). Hated me on principle (mutual), wanted to flunk me even though I still got great grades(sometimes just to spite her after not showing up for a long time).
She was sort of like my version of Snyder.. only way more bitter and less funny 🙁

5. Ever get detention?
Don't have detention here. But sort of? Yeah a lot. And ditched that too.

6. Were you a frequent ditcher?
Too frequent.

7. Your thoughts on cheerleaders?
Only in America

8. What was your wardrobe like?
Torn shirts, flip flops and hoodies. That's about it.
But I'm too much eyeliner girl to this day

9. Ever forge your parents' signature on a report card, principal's note, etc?
No need. Either didn't bother to bring it back to the teacher or just showed it to my dad. It was no secret that I didn't care about school back then haha

10. Can you remember your locker combination?
Nope.

11. How many times did you avoid gym class?
Gym? The teacher thought I was a fake name when I came to talk to her in the end of the year...

12. Favourite meal in the cafeteria?
We had to bring food from home... But I did buy a red lolipop every day.

13. Who was your big crush?
Nope.

Man... how the hell did I finish high school...

1. What kind of crowd did you hang with?
I had so few friends that "hanging with a crowd" wasn't applicable.

2. Were you studious or a slacker?
Depends on the subject.

3. Join any clubs?
We didn't have clubs like that. I was one of the founding members of a pagan society, though. Does that count?

4. Which teacher did you absolutely loathe with a passion?
If there was one, I have forgotten.

5. Ever get detention?
No

6. Were you a frequent ditcher?
By today's standards, definitely.

7. Your thoughts on cheerleaders?
Something that only existed in American pop culture

8. What was your wardrobe like?
A bit of Willow, a bit of Angela Chase

9. Ever forge your parents' signature on a report card, principal's note, etc?
No

10. Can you remember your locker combination?
We didn't have lockers

11. How many times did you avoid gym class?
When I could.

12. Favourite meal in the cafeteria?
We didn't have a cafeteria

13. Who was your big crush?
Awww ... I guy a year older than me.

1. What kind of crowd did you hang with?
The loser group. We had our own title but I feel it's too inappopriate for the board 😛 Basically it was about 20-25 of us rejects that didn't fit in anywhere else

2. Were you studious or a slacker?
A healthy balance of both I guess.

3. Join any clubs?
What clubs?

4. Which teacher did you absolutely loathe with a passion?
My year 9 and year 12 English teachers. They were horrible!

5. Ever get detention?
Once but it wasn't my fault.

6. Were you a frequent ditcher?
Nope. Only ever wagged twice

7. Your thoughts on cheerleaders?
Our school didn't have them

8. What was your wardrobe like?
Not overly much different from how it is now! I still wear knee length denim shorts and wrist cuffs. Except I wear guy shirts now. I think that's the only difference

9. Ever forge your parents' signature on a report card, principal's note, etc?
No, had no need to

10. Can you remember your locker combination?
None of my schools ever had lockers

11. How many times did you avoid gym class?
A lot!

12. Favourite meal in the cafeteria?
...Do schools provide meals for you?
I used the school canteen a handful of times. It was only open on Monday and Friday. I recall getting a hot dog a couple of times in high school which was kinda exciting.

13. Who was your big crush?
A girl who I had a crush on for like 4 years! She's actually one of my best friends now and I drunkenly told her that I used to like her loads a few years ago. She was like "Yeah, I knew" and continued to say that she was confused about her feelings towards me but contemplated in asking me out a few times. Hell surprised me.

1. What kind of crowd did you hang with?
Sort of a mix of people, some slackers, some of the "emo" kids, and then me and my best friend.

2. Were you studious or a slacker?
Not really studious but I got good grades. I lettered in Academics my senior year with a 3.5 grade point average.

3. Join any clubs?
Yea, a few. I was in the Public Service Academy for 3 years, Varsity Track and Field for 4 years and a volunteer club for 2 years.

4. Which teacher did you absolutely loathe with a passion?
I didn't hate any of my teachers, just some I loved more than others

5. Ever get detention?
Not in high school. We had On-Campus suspension that I got once for being late to class. It was stupid.

6. Were you a frequent ditcher?
Nope. I stayed home "sick" for 3 days in 8th grade just to watch Buffy reruns of season 3. lol. I ditched a couple of days my senior year cause my friend had a car, but that was it.

7. Your thoughts on cheerleaders?

They weren't that pretty. And I don't like watching them. Those of you that didn't have cheerleaders, you're not missing anything.

8. What was your wardrobe like?

I wore boys clothes. lol. Baggy pants (or plain shorts) and baggy t-shirts, with my hair always in a ponytail, and skater shoes like Vans. lol. I don't dress like that anymore. lol

9. Ever forge your parents' signature on a report card, principal's note, etc?

Twice. My dad's is super easy to forge but he didn't want me to, so I had a girl in my class write my mom's once, and my mom didn't care. lol

10. Can you remember your locker combination?

Nope. We only had gym lockers, and I only took gym in 9th grade.

11. How many times did you avoid gym class?

As much as I could without getting in trouble. I'm not athletic and I hate team sports. I was too shy and socially awkward in high school. I HATED gym.

12. Favourite meal in the cafeteria?

I usually ate sandwiches and french fries. And sometimes I stole cookies. lol

13. Who was your big crush?

This guy that I had a crush on since 7th grade and he barely knew I existed. lol. He was super hot, super smart and played like 3 sports. He ended up marrying his high school girlfriend. Damn her! lol. His nickname was Mr. Perfect. lol.

Lettered in Academics AND kept up a 3.5 GPA? Whoa. I dub thee Willow Rosenberg!
Even just including 9th and 10th grade (I didn't continue high school after that, which isn't to say I was no longer being educated), there are many changes.

I'll include A for grade 9, and B for grade 10

1. What kind of crowd did you hang with?

A. Thrashers (skateboarders), though I also had a few other friends (like one who shared my love of fantasy lit who lived near me and we rode the same bus, as just one example)

B. We didn't have a name as far as I know, but were probably considered the Juvies (delinquents), and there were some goth leaning aspects to us, generally speaking. We all were in a special class called ABC (Adaptive Behavior Class) for those with behavioral problems, most of us having been in trouble with the law at one point or another.

2. Were you studious or a slacker?

A, B the academic aspects of school were all too easy for me (and were for many in the special class I was put into the following year), and I was generally an A-B student without even trying. One thing I liked about In School Suspension was that I got the assignments for the week at the start of the week and finished them in one or 2 days and used the rest of the time to read and write for fun.

3. Join any clubs?

A, B No (it wouldn't have been allowed in ABC anyway)

4. Which teacher did you absolutely loathe with a passion?

A. I don't recall liking or hating any teachers of this year.

B. It's a tie between one especially Dolores Umbridge type teacher, and a male substitute (though I was actually more amused rather than intimidated the one time he threw a chair against the wall as he yelled how he hated all of us, and how terrible our futures would be).

5. Ever get detention?

A. I don't recall getting any that year, though I got plenty of such actions in previous years (In School Suspension and the like)

B. ABC was essentially In School Suspension in which we did not interact with the rest of the school (save coming and going) and our lunch period was in between the lunch periods (like those in In School Suspension), though once it was funny in that all but one of us who showed up to ABC one day were put in ISS the next, and ISS forbid kids from interacting with even other kids in ISS, let alone between ISS and ABC (to the point that they came down hard on those who even waved at each other).

6. Were you a frequent ditcher?

No

7. Your thoughts on cheerleaders?

Our cheerleaders and jocks were toxic, worse than those shown on Buffy (and just as spoiled by faculty, arguably more so since their stunts were worse which the faculty winked at), so I hated them at the time. I realize now that they're not so bad at other schools, generally speaking.

8. What was your wardrobe like?

A, B: I guess hodgepodge, though I passed it off as grunge (style), which the flannel shirts and tennis shoes seemed to fit with. There was a lot that Granny got me, supplemented by clothes from thrift stores, and even oversized shirts (which I loved) that a friend gave me from her own stuff. I'd learned to sew so I could alter or patch them as I desired, which kinda hid how used they were. I had a pair of cargo pants that I liked, but I don't recall wearing those to school, it was mostly bluejeans, or black jeans...I wrote all over some jeans with highlighter once that got me sent home to change, though it was nothing obscene. I was more likely to wear striped arm wraps (they protected my arms when I fell) in the first year and more black the second. I was big on wearing bandannas back then, but they weren't allowed in school.

9. Ever forge your parents' signature on a report card, principal's note, etc?

Yes, but usually just to skip bothering them (and myself). It's not like the school faculty cared.

10. Can you remember your locker combination?

No.

11. How many times did you avoid gym class?

Never (but there was no gym class for those in ABC)

12. Favourite meal in the cafeteria?

Ick, caf food. Even the pizza at the snack bar tasted like greasy cardboard. I was big with the PBJs from home back then.

13. Who was your big crush?

Didn't have one either year.

As I watch the first three seasons of Buffy, I find that I'm thinking about high school.

One disclaimer here: high school in the Province of Ontario was 5 years, not 4 as it is elsewhere starting in 1946 due to the number of servicemen returning from WWII wanting to get into university, so delaying university entrance for high schoolers was done by adding Grade 13. (This ended in 2009, so it is four years now.) By the time I got into university, I realized I had been like the worm that lives in a radish, I never knew anything could be sweet - it certainly wasn't in high school.

1. What kind of crowd did you hang with?

The nerds.

2. Were you studious or a slacker?

Reasonably studious although there were some in the class who bragged about how much they studied. I was one of ten students in my year at school to get an Ontario Scholarship (worth $400 towards university) so I did all right. I became a slacker in university.

3. Join any clubs?

The science club and the wrestling club. I was better on the former than the latter.

4. Which teacher did you absolutely loathe with a passion?

The head guidance councillor who damaged a lot of students, but dishonourable mention to the head of history and one of the French teachers.

5. Ever get detention?

A few times a year.

6. Were you a frequent ditcher?

I took days off on occasion, usually with my mother's blessing.

7. Your thoughts on cheerleaders?

A clique that rivalled the frat boys / sorority girls in obnoxiousness. Just like at Sunnydale, there were unwritten rules about who could speak to whom.

8. What was your wardrobe like?

Cheap and not very good. I never owned a suit until I got into university.

9. Ever forge your parents' signature on a report card, principal's note, etc?

Never.
