What Will You Be Watching This Fall?

All I mean is that I don't like it when people say a show I like should be cancelled. Let's just drop it.

I'm just gonna say one thing and then im done. I'm sorry you dont like it when people saya a show should be cancelled. It's their opinion. I'm not gonna sit here and say you're a dunce because you like the simpsons. I'm just saying I think that it's long overdue for a cancellation. Like 7th Heaven. It's been on for nearly 20 years. I mean, after 20 years of the same show, it gets kinda old. but that's my opinion. If you like it, good for you. Keep watching it. I dont care.

Just exactly what I'll wind up watching after the season premier fervor dies down is as much a mystery to me as what happened to all of that green cheese that was supposed to be on the moon if Armstrong and his crew didn't eat it all, but one thing is for dead certain. I WILL NOT BE WATCHING ANY D#*N REALITY SHOWS!!! I hate those things.

Returning Shows:

  • The 4400
  • American Dad!
  • Desperate Housewives
  • Family Guy
  • Heroes
  • My Name is Earl
  • Nip/Tuck
  • Robot Chicken
  • South Park
  • Torchwood

If Trailer Park Boys gets renewed, I'll be watching it's eight season as well. And Doctor Who returns for a fourth season, but that doesn't start until spring next year.

New Shows:

  • Chuck (NBC) - Josh Schwartz teams up with McG again, which worked really well on the O.C. plus it starts Adam Baldwin.
  • Gossip Girl (the CW) - Another Josh Schwartz show, which I'm thinking is gonna be a bit like Cruel Intentions but then for TV. Plus Kristen Bell is narrating.
  • Heroes: Origins (NBC) - It's pretty much a given that anyone who watches Heroes will also tune in for this semi spin-off.
  • Pushing Daisies (ABC) - From one of the creators of Wonderfalls (one of the best shows ever) and one of its cast members. I'm hoping it's gonna have the same kind of humour in it. I think this is probably my most anxiously awaited new show.
  • Reaper (the CW) - Sounds like fun, since it has Kevin Smith attached to the project.
  • The Return of Jezebel James (NBC) - New shows from Amy Sherman-Palladino, this time it's about sisters instead of mother and daughter. I will definitely tune in for this... I already miss my Gilmore Girls fix.

Maybe I'll check out the Sarah Connor Chronicles as well, but I'm not sure yet.

Ya know for the first time in a long time, I find myself unmoved by the fall season. There doesn't seem to be anything interesting coming our way and only a handful of good shows remain on air. I would watch Reaper but the CW doesn't deserve my viewership. Did HIMYM get renewed? I'll watch that, Grey's, John from Cincinatti (actually thats a summer start), Dirt (possibly), Heroes (it improves) and Lost (if it improves).

I'm actually the opposite, the past couple of seasons, while there were shows I was definitely excited about, the lineups as a whole failed to impress me, but this season's slate seems just plain awesome to me, I can't wait for the season to start. And if the new shows are as good as they SEEM I hope this can be the most successful season in TV history with a lot of renewals. 😉 I won't hold my breath though.

And as for Lost...I honestly don't think it can improve any over the last part of the third season...it's already better than it's ever been. There's not much room for improvement, IMO, and I don't see how they could make it any better.

Well after finding out whats back and whats new, my list is as follows

CSI Miami
Heroes
CSI
House
One Tree Hill
Lost
Supernatural
Smallville
My Name Is Earl
The Ghost Whisperer
Criminal Minds
Desperate Housewives
The Womens Murder Club
Reaper
Gossip Girl
Chuck
and maybe The Big Bang Theory

I think thats all

Im still trying to find out if theyre renewing The Dresden Files. Anyone know?

Nip/Tuck and Battlestar Galactica, after what happened in the third season finale, LOST is lost to me. 🙁

Did HIMYM get renewed?

yup.
Eye skeins getting better news this week include "How I Met Your Mother," which has been picked up for a third season. Eye's most buzzworthy laffer might seem to be a no-brainer for renewal, but CBS execs make producers sweat it out until the last minute.

as for me, im kind of angry at the networks for cancelling a few of the shows i liked, so i have not given it much thought, except that ill watch the returning himym. ill let the new shows start to run, see which shows seem to be good, and start watching those i guess. if im still angry and find nothing good, ill just be lame and watch nothing new, and likely curl up with some popcorn and buffy dvds :silly:.

EDIT:
Im still trying to find out if theyre renewing The Dresden Files. Anyone know?

this is one message boarders opinion, but nothing i found any evidence of:
And as for the TDF: it looks pretty good actually. The actors have signed on for a second season, the ratings were good and there's a solid ready-made fanbase.

and there's more info about the current situation here:
The SCIFI channel is still trying to decide whether or not to renew The Dresden Files, and the decision is supposed to be made sometime in June.

I'll be watching Pushing Daisies for sure, and the trailer for the Bionic Women looked like it could surprise, so that one too.

After that the finale's that made me have to see what's going to happen next are Lost, Weeds, Dexter, and Dirt. Unfortunately the last 3 are American cable, so I've got a feeling they will be a lonely obsession. Anybody else watch them?

My gods, how could I forget Weeds, I will definitely watch that!

I finally saw a commercial for New Amsterdam and it looks even cooler than it sounded! I'm definitely gonna check that out.

Wrestling, both WWE and TNA
October Road (Which will now conflict with WWE, but yay for TiVO)
Ugly Betty
Grey's Anatomy
Private Practice
Bones
My Name Is Earl

Those are my "for sures" that I'll be watching this season. I'm gonna miss October Road being on Thursdays tho, that was my TV watching night. Everything else stays on TiVO and I catch up with it when I can, but I am ADDICTED to Ugly Betty and Grey's. Looks like I'll have to get a new system in order for this fall.

I will for sure be watching BIONIC WOMAN. I will watch SMALLVILLE (have been for years) BIG LOVE and that is about it. I find tv boring these days. Meh....

I can't believe only N4H mentioned Dexter. That show is just incredible. Everyone should be watching it.

Okay, other than Dexter I'm looking forward to the new series of...

24 - Which is rumoured to be a very different "non-CTU" show this time around.
Battlestar Galactica - Final season (sniff) but looks to be the best yet.
Heroes - The season finale leat me down big time but the show earned itself enough points to deserve a second chance.
Lost - Don't care what people say. Lost never stopped rocking. Best show on television today.
Stargate Atlantis - First year that it will have to stand alone and from all I've read it can easily do so.
Supernatural - This was the only show that I wasn't sure would get another year so I was really happy when it did. It deserves much higher ratings. Give it a better slot, CW!!!

Of the new series I'm definitely going to give Bionic Woman and Sarah Connor Chronicles a try. Possibly Reaper and maybe Flash Gordon too.

Well, when I started this thread I meant what will people be watching that's on broadcast television, I guess I didn't really make that part clear. Oh well.
