@HowiMetdaSlayer Such an amazing show!
It absolutely was! Based on a book, I didn't know. I'd like to read it someday!
No, no she has not! A friend of mine is quite the fan of ATJ, and they too would agree.thetopher Has Anya Taylor-Joy ever disappointed?

Ouch; a rating of 5.3/10 on imdb.com. I was about to comment that I hadn't even heard of this film, and now I know why. Not even a good actor can save a bad film/poor script.She was even good in the (pretty darn poor) The New Mutants film; in fact she was the best thing in that. I wouldn't mind seeing her Magik/Illyana again some time.

I'm guessing the poor rating and poor box office performance killed off any chance of a spin-off with any of the characters?
If I ever do come across it, I'll keep it in mind so I can watch. Thanks! 🙂Yeah its not great, a rather slow movie, more like maybe the pilot episode to a 'New Mutants' pilot TV show. It tries some horror/mystery elements with all the teen characters playing off of each other in a creepy scientific research institute. The characters and acting are fine though, as I recall.
Truth be told ATJ's Magik is kind of a mean ol' jerk, but she's also dynamic and interesting and playing the role with everything she has.
Well, now I must just see if I can find that on YouTube!Also she's quite the badass during the end fight, screaming and charging this massive bear-thing.
If you get to see it for free somewhere I'd check it out. 5. 3 is a bit harsh. Maybe a 6?
When that happens, you tend to focus on the actor(s) you like to get through the film. Kudos though to the actors who still commit 100%, even though they realise the film is terrible. 😁NotASlayer Sometimes it can be fun to watch them try to save a film though, or just decide it's utter rubbish but they are going to be as memorable as possible in it.

Ah, the 'so bad it's good' kind of film! 😉Have you ever seen the old film Highlander II? If you haven't... well, I can't really recommend it. 😀 A fine example of executive meddling destroying a film. However, Michael Ironside played General Katana, and he's pretty clearly gone "Frack it, this is terrible, but you are going to remember me!"
Aw, I just checked and it's on a streaming platform I don't have. Gah! Should I ever get it, I'm writing the name of the series down just in case. Appreciate the recommendation!thetopher Check out Fox's The Gifted, which is X-Men adjacent. It's only two seasons and its not bad.
I just watched it!@hoponlilmama did you see the trailer for Anya Taylor Joy's new show Lucky?
