Just to prove to all those skeptics out there who think Buffy fans spend all their time glued to their tv's watching BTVS/ATS reruns, what books are you currently reading (No cheating, now. School Lit assignments don't count, I mean what are yiu reading for FUN)

I'm just about to start "Endurance," by Alfred Lansing. It's about Earnest Shackleton who survived a shipwreck in Antarctica for over a year and didn't lose a single one of his 27 man crew.

I just finished "Overboard" about the sinking of the USS INDIONAPOLIS in World War II.

I'm just about to start 'Atonement', the book the film was based on. I haven't seen the film yet but so may people have recommended the book so I'm gona see if their right. Oh and I'm about 3/4 of the way through 'Alls quiet on the Western Front'...truly great book, I almost feel like I'm in the trenches.

I bought that but I haven't started it yet!
I'm reading Tales of the Slayer vol. 1. I'm on "Unholy Madness" by Nancy Holder so far. I mean, sheesh people..."White Doe" started off very slow and made me put the book down for a day.

Rant over.

After ToTS (the book not the potato) I'll probably finish Ellen Sandler's TV Writer's Workbook. She's very helpful and informative!

I'm in the middle of Twilight, but I've stopped so I can read The Grapes of Wrath for my honors English class next semester.

Is Twilight in that series that includes Nightwatch and Daywatch? If so, my hubby is currently reading those!
Oh! And after I read that I have Star Trek Deep Space Nine: Unity , Rising Son, and Avatar part 1.

But as you said I usually just spend my time on the computer, editing videos, or rewatching great t.v. shows. 😛 I read those books when I don't have access to the computer/t.v. That's why it takes me a week or two to read them! 😛

I'm not reading anything at the moment, but Go Ask Malice should arrive tommorrow so I'll be reading that then!

Take my advise about "Atonement," darlin' see the movie first. That way, you won't be disappointed in the book. If you read the book first, the movie is always a let down, because they'll leave your favorite scene/line/character, or even a whole lot of the plot out. They just can't show all that detail in a couple of hours. See the movie first, then read the book. You'll thank me, I promise.

I'm currently reading "Good Omens" by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. Just finished "Midnight Voices" by John Saul.

I'm having my English teacher order a book for me called Witch Child. I can't remember what it's about, but it seemed cool at the time!

I have this on my blog! And Facebook!

Anyway, right now I'm working my way through the Blood books by Tanya Huff (yes, the ones that awful Lifetime series is based on). I'm on Blood Lines right now.

I just read Battle Royale. Very good anti-fascism, pulp fictiony sort of book about Jr. High kids being forced to kill each other. I highly recommend it.

I am now reading March. It's the 2006 Pulitzer Prize winner and derivative of Little Women, which is one of my all-time favorite books. It's about the father's experiences in military service during the civil war.

Have you seen the Japanese movie of Battle Royale? its good, but gory...
I'm reading three books right now, Piers Anthony's Phaze Doubt, Ken Follet's The Pillars of the Earth and a business related book about eBay that I can't remember the name of right offhand.

Edit:

Lyri agrees: hey, there's something on MySpace about the latest Anita book being out over there. true or false?
I saw the blog post but haven't had a chance to go read it yet. Shouldn't be, last I heard she was still in edits!

I'm glad I'm not the only person who reads multiple books at once. Right now I'm actually reading five, lol. I'm about halfway through all of them
Here's the books in my reading list...

Finished or in progress:

Truths and Consequences,by Keith Olbermann(nearly 2 dozen of Keith's Special Comments from his MSNBC show Countdown are gathered here)

When The Lights Went Out,by Gare Joyce(showing the aftermath of the final game of the 1987 World Junior Championship of hockey, where the Canadians and Soviets went into a full blown Fist City...and how it's still reverberating hockey today)

Preparing to read:

Conservatives Without Conscience,by John Dean(showing how the "conservative" leadership in the U.S. has gone awry)

In The Hot Zone,by Kevin Sites(detailing a year of his life moving from one global hot spot to another-also looking at world conflict as well as the future of media)

I've never really liked any of Stephen King's books, but Cell seems pretty interesting!

YEARS?!

If I went that long without reading I'd cry.

I wouldn't cry, I'd be doing a good imitation of Spike in the school basement.
