What're you reading?

What do you mean similar? Like the writing is similiar? Hehe. Right. I've seen that the third book to the series is coming soon. I may have to take a little break in between and read another book because a new book is coming out and I have yet to read the book before it. The Wicked Lovely series. I still have yet to read Radiant Shadows when Darkest Mercy comes out towards the end of next month. So I'll read radiant shadows and then request Torment from the library. Since I work at the library, I just request books.😀

I love the Vampire Academy. I have yet to read Last Sacrifice though. I use to like Twilight a lot. Just feel burnt out by it now.

I like a little break from YA vampire books.😀

Thank you!

yeah, similar as in similar writing. and theme. meaning you could put the two books together as one and you wouldn't be able to tell...which i guess makes sense lol maybe i'm just saying this cos it was a little big more of a drag to get through those two books that it was to get through twilight and VA for me. i've read last sacrifice. great ending to the series i thought 🙂 i was happy with it. (as for twilight, i can see where you're coming from with all the hype around the movies and what not. i myself will see each movie exactly once to analyse just how horribly they've adapted the book this time and then suppress all memories of it 🙂 it works for me)
i know what you're saying about getting a break from vampire books lol i've read sooo many. (or if not vampire then at least supernatural ones). don't bother reading the strange angels series (dru anderson). they're such a bore. my god.
i loved the wicca series (i think it's called Sweep series in america though) by cate tiernan. it's got a lot of parts though but i was obsessed with it.
now i'm gonna start reading emma by jane austen (speaking of taking a break 😉 ) while waiting for guilty pleasures by laurell k. hamilton (figured i'd give it a go, if it's not good i can stop after book 1)

Finished the first book of the Hunger Games and I loved it!

My heart was breaking for Peeta at the end. 🙁

I'm restraining myself from moving on to the second book already because I actually need to get stuff done tonight, heh.

Gotcha. I'm getting little further into Fallen. I'm liking it. Yeah, hopefully, it won't feel like dragging when I read Torment.

Yeah, with all the hype surrounding Twilight & the movies, I just kind of got burnt out. And now people who saw the movies first and then decided to read the books are checking out their books at the library.(I work at the library.)

It's nice to read a book about fairies or werewolves or demon hunters or ghosts or angels. For a little change. And then you can return to reading another vampire book series.lol.

Really? I'm kind of interested in reading the Strange Angels series.:/ And the books are boring?

A few times, I tried checking out Guilty Pleasures. I'm going have try this series again when i'm not so ADD because everytime I've tried to read the first book, I've been distracted.

yes, i'm afraid i was bored out of my mind. i actually skipped chapters it was that bad lol but maybe you should read at least the first book (they're not big) and see how you like it. i wasnt gonna read the anita blake series at first cos i read what it was about and thought it sounded a bit lame. but then i read people raving about them and then met someone who's read them all and loved them so now i'm giving them a go

The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien.

I've read it last year, but re-reading now. This book just kills me. It's amazing and really well written, but really distressing at the same time. 🙁

I just finished "Lies," the third book in the "Gone" series. Sooooo good, though I much prefer "Hunger."

And I'm also rereading Sweep, specifically the fourth book (first part of the second volume)

I will. I'll try to read the first book and see how it goes.😀 Yeah? Good luck with that series. I hope you do end up liking it.

A biography of Theodore Roosevelt. Love him.

A book called "Machine of Death" -- really awesome collection of short stories all answering the question, "What would it be like if there were a machine that predicted peoples' deaths?" Each story is titled with the type of death the machine gives one of its characters. Really interesting (and funny, and sometimes surprisingly heartwrenching) read.

Vampire Academy it is different has a lot kind of going on and I like it so far. About to finish and just started today kept my attention and has me planning a trip to the library.

Does fanfiction count? I'm reading a Harry Potter one and I'm not sure if it makes me want to cry or laugh. It's that bad. Other than that I'm reading a book on Brainwashing, called "Brainwashing" cause what else could you name it? It's helping me with my plans to enslave the internet.

that sounds interesting. I need arguments to back up my stance in an endless debate about brainwashing with my flatmate. I shall pm you in due course.

Thank you Abbey I was confused if the final book is a finish or a book leading into the spinoff? Do you know? I am going to get more of the books today 🙂

World War Z- An oral history of the zombie war by Max Brooks.
Zombies intrigue me, and I've read every book I've been able to get my hands on and I'm pretty sure if it ever came to a zombie apocalypse I'd be pretty prepared if they're right about the physiology and ways to kill a zombie, if not.. I'm boned.
Second book being read is Rise of the Triffids by John Wyndham, its such a great book I recommend everyone has a look at it.

I just finished "Full Dark, No Stars" by Stephen King not long ago. I really liked it 🙂

Now I'm reading "Let the Right One In" by John Ajvide Lindqvist.

"Reading the Vampire Slayer - The New, Updated Unofficial Guide to Buffy and Angel" by Roz Kaveney. My shiny birthday present from the best flatmate in the world.
