When did you know that Cordie became evil?

I was suspicious of her before the blatant evil acts began. But my thoughts weren't that she was going evil, just that maybe she knew more of what was going on than she was saying. Which you know is KINDA like knowing before...🙂

And then I accidentally read the Lilah spoiler and I was screwed, haha.
 
See i had a slight problem, in that i'd never watched Angel really... i was always a Buffy girl, and i was so busy with schoolwork and other stuff (when it was airing on tv i was still at school which is scary!) that i could only watch one or the other.... so i would occasionally catch an episode or two on channel 5, and one of them happened to be the one where Cordelia kills Lilah, which my dad and I were both gobsmacked at!!

It wasn't until last feb that i got seasons 1-5 of Angel on dvd and watched them all, and realised the storyline behind it (i had a vague idea previously), so I already knew she was gonna be evil before i watched it... which kinda ruined the surprise for me!! 🙁

Exactly. When I first the episode Apocalypse Nowish in which they slept together for the first time I got suspicious something was up. The naive side believed Cordelia was just acting out of "end of the world" despair but now watching the whole thing again that should have been the first or second sign that this Cordelia was not the one from the first three seasons.
 
It was sort of when she slept with Connor for me too. My initial recation was that it was just dreadful writing and completely, then I began to hope that they were actually building to something. That left me looking out for signs and changes in Cordelia's character, so I noticed that when she wasn't directly speaking to someone she always seemed kind of blank. Nothing seemed to really affect her: like when Angelus was talking about her and Connor. Although, since you could also attribute that to Cordelia knowing Angelus and what he does the best, it was still ambiguous. I liked that there were so many distractions from her storyline at this point, it really made the Lilah moment all the more shocking. Plus, Lilah was one of my favourite characters, so that sealed it!

It also didn't help that after that moment Cordelia went all Black Hat and refused to wear anything other than black. And this is not long after Wes and Lilah's discussion about how they don't wear black and white. That was a little overkill for my tastes.
 
At the end of Spin The Bottle, where Cordelia didn't do something like slap Angel and say "Why the hell did you leave me up there? I hated it up there. I had to get down here myself and get my memory erased, you pinhead!"
 
I'm the same as Bangelxx I didn't figure it out until she murdered Lilah... I think I'm bad with things like that though, I can never figure it out until it's blatently obvious.
