I think I might still be the only one who thinks Buffy said it to be spiteful, I haven't moved on that yet!

I kinda think it was spiteful too, but there was an undercurrent of something else too? I just can't put my finger on it.
I don't know...I get a different feeling from it, not spite... but utter honesty and passion. I don't think she meant dying in "bad" way... that is to say, not that the kiss makes her want to end her life but that it makes her feel...beyond her body, beyond this life... it makes her want to transcend her mortal existence, or feel like, for that moment, she is.

So, I'm looking at what everyone said and now I can't seem to decide... (thank you for merging btw)!
Reading all of this, now I'm kind of leaning your way towards the whole spite thing. But I think it was more like shutup and let me walk away kind of the way she kind of sneared, but the words still take me towards it's too powerful it hurts.

.......if any of that really makes sense.
 
Like I said before, I think part of it was because Angel wasn't being nice. She wasn't either, but still. She's a teenager, we can't forget that. Teenagers, particularly females, like to play horrible mind games. (I know that women in general like to play them, but it's wayyy worse when you're a teenager!) I agree with Flannen, that she may have said it just to be spiteful.

My other theory is still that it makes her want to become a vampire so she could be with him forever. If you want to love someone forever, you have to make sure you're around for forever.

I think its that, but also adding in "Don't you realize it's already too late and I would give anything for it not to be." Its the ultimate Catch-22. You know your feelimgs and also your inability to change them.

I can see how it could come off as spiteful. She knows she loves him and can do nothing about it except fall harder the closer they get. He feels the same but refuses to act for fear of the consequences (which at this point are that they seemingly have no foreseeable future). The thought of loving someone as much as they love each other and not having the chance to act on it is extraordinarily painful. Add the fact that she is a 16 year old girl, and this statement seems pretty normal. She wanted to convey that his inaction hurt her more than anything else, hence the lash out. Cause we've never seen Buffy do that before.

Sure, it was over the top, but in this case they were on the same page. He flipped out because she was echoing his feelings and affirming that she felt the same unchanging, life-altering way he did. Angel needed a reality check. He needed to understand that it wasn't just some crush or passing fling. Mission accomplished.

Definitely mission accomplished. I think I ultimately side with that.

For me this quote means :"I hate how it feels missing you. This is all I need."

Since Bangel is a very much tough love. She loves him. She gives him perfect happiness and other way around. Together they are alive and living whole magic of life.

Simply, they are destined to be together and forever but their lifestyles is unbalanced.

She only needs him. He gives her wings. But she is cut off from her fuel and has to drive on. And to be honest she did more then well.
