Where did Faith "click" better?

I agree that Faith was a lot more in character like Angel than she was like Buffy, and for limited periods of time they worked well together, but my problem with that is that they are just too similar. Both have crimes to atone for, both are seeking some sort of redemption, both have people who tried to befriend them who they ultimately wound up betraying...Do you see a pattern here? They're just too much alike to ever do anything but stand around and agree with and support each other into a state of nausea. There's never any conflict, no difference of opinion, none of the things that made both BTVS and ATS so good. Both shows were about the balance of equal but opposite elements: Buffy and Spike, opposites who worked so well together because each filled the vacuums in the other's character. The same with Angel and Cordelia, Xander and Willow, Gunn and Fred... Have I completely lost everybody here? I do that sometimes, it's what happens when you get old.

I think she was better on Angel.
There was more of something there. Everytime they seemed to touch on the WHY of things on BtVS, Buffy would show up and cause a ruckus. (Not that she didn't TRY to do that, even on Angel.) I don't think Faith was kind of like a corked up bottle on BtVS. She was just going to be that way and stay that way forever and probably die early.
When she went to LA, it was like the bottle was uncorked and lots of interesting things came out. And there was a LOT less of that annoying, "Blah, blah, blah, I'm better than you".
I know how that can be. All the more reason to act out and team up with evil Mayors with all that going on.

That's my point exactly! It was all of that "corked bottle" tension that made their interaction great. The two Slayers were almost completely opposite, but also almost completely equal. The only two people that Buffy ever fought and never decisively beat were Spike and Faith, and they had some of the best, most action filled fights on the show. And when they fought side by side, they were even better.Buffy was usually more cautious in those days, where Faith would jump in blind and bedamn the consequences! That always left Buffy grumbling and jumping in to help.

Add to that one short scene: Faith comes down to the basement, strikes up a conversation with Spike, even winds up coming on to him in a sort of half hearted way (come on, folks, if Spike had been just a LITTLE bit more responsive...) then Buffy comes down the stairs...

i know Mesektet Ra is a Spaith shipper, but i could never really get on board with that ship. i don't know why, they just never clicked with me. Fangel, on the other hand, for some reason i can just see the two of them together. *shrugs*

i know Faith showed up first on BTVS, and that's where i believe she belongs, but she grew up on Angel, became a hero.

this is gonna come off as a little nuts, but i believe Faith belongs on BTVS, but she fits in better on Angel. ::huh1::

Not me, man. Buffy's the one who likes the vamp boys. That's totally Buffy's thing. I'd feel like Faith and Spike were the consolation prize couple.

Faith and Spike would be Hott! I mean just think they both are good but evil but with Spike there is only so much room for a pitty party on past mistakes he can put himself threw...While I think they can understand the past mistakes I think they also understand the Badness streak in eachother...

I always wanted to see Faith get her own series...

I havent gotten that far in the Angel series to say I like her better on there or not. I can say I loved her on Buffy. I liked that she challenged her so much. I like that Faith didnt take the time to feel sorry for herself. That she could show signs of emotion but she mostly just wanted to get the job done...that she most often landed herself into trouble. That she reached out to others but yet quickly withdrew herself. Personally I think Faith is a VERY complex character who wasnt given enough air time to get to know. However, I think on Buffy it would have been almost impossible to give her much more time on the show than they did because we would find ourselves getting to know a second slayer and not focus on Buffy herself...thats WHY I wanted a Faith series...

I could totaly see them making it work with Oz on the show and Doyle would be great too..gah ok sorry now I am gonna get carried away with my FAN FICTIOUS ways lol

I truly don't know. Faith's episodes on Angel were some of the best that series produced (ok..maybe a little biased). She had a lot more growth on Angel it seemed. At least it filled in the blanks between "Who Are You?" and "Dirty Girls" on Buffy. Character wise, Faith's always been of the darker variety which makes me think she belongs in camp Angel. But her interactions with Buffy, being the complete opposite and aly turned enemy was just so brilliant which puts me back into camp Buffy.

Either way, I just think that Faith was a character that was not around nearly enough. One of the most interesting and complex characters on a television series ever.

I believe it was the time Faith spent in the prison that enabled her to be a better person. And that was due to Angel being willing to show her he wanted to help her. It may have been his attitude that gave her the realisation that she was worth it.
Loved when she got back to Sunnydale, her physical contact with with Spike and the verbal interaction with Buffy.

I have to go with Joss on this one: Eliza took over every scene she was in. Therefore she was great in both. I don't have a preference as to Faith's character. If I HAD to choose, I'd say BtVS just because I like that series better.

But it doesn't matter which show you liked more, she wasn't accepted by Buff's friends, she was by all of Angel's.

But for me that wasn't the fun, dramatic part of her life story. Faith's story started on Buffy. She was a slayer turned rogue. That was new, we'd only had Kendra and Buffy for comparisons with Slayers and in that scenario Buffy came off the 'bad' slayer and then Faith shows up and shakes everything up. She comes back in season 7 as the wild character but she's learned remorse and responsibility. She had more acting range on Buffy, in my opinion than on Angel 🙂
