Where it all began....

I read about SMG getting royally jealous of her fight coach and stunt double (same person) getting a lot of applause from those in attendance of fight sequences so she finally FORBADE the applause of her! If people wanted to applaud SMG that was fine but NOT her double.
I really think it's pretty evident that SMG got some coaching in the later years as to showing appreciation of others especially where her fan's were concerned.
People like to point out that SMG gave that surf-board award she got to David Boreanaz but I really doubt that was off the cuff as she tried to play it.
Has anyone watched the early interviews with SMG and DB?
SMG barely let's him get a word in edgewise and let's not forget that in seven years of doing the show, SMG is the ONLY cast member to NEVER attend ONE of the Posting Parties.
I think it's a little odd too that she is the ONLY cast member that didn't return to voice for the video games as well...why?
I truly believe she came to some point of doing Buffy where she decided, once she was done and out, she was never returning to it again...period.

One word: hearsay.
Who's to say that's true. Sounds ridiculous to me. Also what stunt double? Because one of her stunt doubles was a bridesmaid at her wedding if I recall correctly.

Again - who's to say? And really, isn't that over-thinking the situation a bit? Is it that hard to believe that maybe she just made a nice gesture for a co-worker of three years?

SMG gets a lot of gripe from fans and I can see why. We would have liked to see her here or there or heard her voice there... there's an endless list to what people expect from her and want her to do.
But let's face it - she's an actress interested in furthering her career and for most of these occasion I'm pretty certain one could look it up and see that she was working on something. Maybe she could have taken the time to do conventions or voice-over's or who-knows-what but why should she? Sure it'd be kind to the fans but what about her work and her personal life? Doesn't she have the right to prioritize those things?

It's like reading about how SMG never hung out with the cast and blah blah blah... I completely see why she wouldn't.
Imagine working those hours, spending every day with those people, there's a lot of work and pressure and when the day is finally over is it so bad to wanna go home and see some other people? I don't think so. There's nothing wrong with wanting to keep a certain distance between work life and home life.

As usual - I completely agree!

Extremely well put!

I'd love to see some documentation on that hearsay.
I believe it was Michelle Waitman that was the fight double SMG had problems with but I can't seem to find the article where I read it.
Here's an interesting article:
http://www.whedon.info/Good-Riddance-Buffy.html

I've done a lot of theatre and I do know about getting sick of your fellow cast members.
What I was talking about however was the oddity of SMG seemingly making a POINT of not doing things to further her career and role as Buffy. Whether or not she was simply moving on to other projects, she was very obviously and pointedly moving away from her role as Buffy.
I personally don't care all that much if she play's Buffy ever again but I think it's very interesting that SMG's involvement seems to be the pivotal deciding factor as to whether or not a reunion will ever take place.
I also understand that actors make a point of not talking negatively in public about their fellow actors or roles they have played. But it will be interesting to hear some of the stories that will undoubtedly come to light from some of the other actors on Buffy as time goes on and fandom for Buffy decreases.

I just read that article... "An insider?" I really never believe articles like that. Besides, Seth Green refused to work with her? Whatever, they're best friends in real life!

I don't know that they are BEST friends, but I know they are good friends. Since Buffy's end, Sarah has been in like, 6 episodes of Robot Chicken, which is Seth's show. He wouldn't invite her to work on his show if he couldn't stand to work with her.

Maybe she could have taken the time to do conventions or voice-over's or who-knows-what but why should she?

Because Buffy is the reason she is so big. Sure, she won an Emmy for All My Children, but at the end of the day, she owes her success, she owes becoming a household name to BUFFY. Alyson Hannigan holds a movie/television career and still doesn't seem at all stuck up when it comes to BtVS. If it weren't for Buffy, most of these actors would have no career, so for SMG to seemingly spit in the face of everything Buffy and turn her back on it is disappointing and absurd.

The fact that she's been trying to distance herself from Buffy is completely understandable as she didn't forevermore wish to be pictured as this one character. Sure she owes a lot to the character and she gave it all for seven long years, perhaps she's simply sick of constantly being brought to discuss past performance when she's done a whole slew of other things since.

To say that she's making a point out of distancing herself is conjecture but if she was I would certainly see why seeing as how hard she has tried and she still can't seem to shake it.

(sorry guys, gonna stop hogging the thread now
*gets off soap box and shuffles off*)

OK, today I'm gonna finish watching Season 4.
I ordered Seasons 5 and 7 on DVD a few days ago. I hop they'll arrive soon so that I can continue watching!🙂
And then I'll also have all Seasons on DVD... finally!!😀

Hmmmm... I'm not sure....I probably watch the full series from start to finish about once or twice a year, depending on how long it takes to watch all the episodes!! lol

Every couple of months, I start over and watch from the beginning. I skip a lot of the episodes I don't like (Beer Bad, Restless, Buffy vs. Dracula, etc.)

I haven't re-watched angel in a while....I think I might do that.

I do however, watch "Once more, with feeling" quite frequently. 😀

I tend to just watch them all, then when I want to watch them again I do. It would be interesting to try and watch Buffy and Angel together so that each Episode corresponds with another.

Thread necromancy for my first post, I can see I am going to make myself very popular on here 😀

I watch Buffy from the beginning every couple of years. I am hopeless at remembering what happens in shows, books etc once I am done with them, so it is a nice surprise when I re-watch it and find so many things I had forgotten. Although after the third time through there were less and less of these surprises. I rarely watch season 6 though. I thought it was a great season but I find it hard to watch Willow's descent into junkiehood.

I haven't watched Angel all the way through yet. I stopped watching during season 4 when it was first aired on TV and have the DVDs wending their way to me as we speak, to watch from the beginning

I'm currently re watching the entire series for the show's 15th anniversary. As of right now, I just finished watching Season 4's "Who Are You?" Its actually been ages since I've watched the entire series. Work usually gets in the way. But I'm watching one disc a day, and pacing myself. And I haven't skipped any episodes. I'm very committed. Although it was hard to watch "Beer Bad" and not think, "well, at least Wild At Heart is next."
