Which character would you have liked to see developed more?

This isn't really pertaining to the main cast on Buffy or Angel (although I suppose it could apply to them too). It's more characters from both series, from one episode wonders to recurring characters, that you would have liked to have seen developed more.

I really would have liked to see Illyria more on Angel. I know they went into her much more in After the Fall, but strictly in the show sense, it felt like an odd direction to go so late into the series. I really liked her, and I'm assuming the writers and producers were counting on at least one more season of Angel and would have therefore developed her more, but it seemed like a bit of a shame that they brought in this wild new character with only five or so episodes to go. I loved Fred, but the story might have been better served to bring Illyria in much earlier in the season (although I do realize they'd just lost Cordy and losing Fred right after wouldn't have worked).

I would have loved to have seen more of Oz on Angel to be honest. I did not like him much on Buffy but on Angel for that short time he rocked and I would have loved to have seen him develop more.
 
I would have like to have known more about Oz and his past, also Giles and his ripper days and maybe Drusilla as i found her very interesting 🙂

On "Buffy," I would have liked to see Clem developed more, or at least known more about him.

On "Angel," I would have liked to see, and firmly believe that we would have seen, if there had been a televised Season 6, Nina's character filled out. I read somewhere that there had been planned for Oz to have been there for at least part of the season, teaching her how to control her changes (I assume this would have been after everyone gets back from hell)

Ethan Rayne. My understanding is that there were plans for four spinoffs: Angel, Spike, Faith and Ripper, the latter about Giles' early days dealing in black magic. (Angel was the only one that got made.) Maybe they were saving the Ethan Rayne material for Ripper.

Willie the Snitch. The bartender at the demon bar was always interesting and quite often moved the plot along. They could have made more use of him.

Clem. One of the good guys in spite of playing poker for those delicious kittens.

Olaf the Troll. Just for the outrageousness of it.

Rack. Yeah, he's a shady magic dealer, but he knew what was coming down the pike.

Sineya. The first slayer could have been utilized a bit more to explain the properties and limitations of the slayer.

The show is called Buffy the Vampire Slayer so you think another vampire slayer would be pretty important, right?

A group of demons turn him into a dummy. He does not give a shit, spends the next ~70 years hunting them down, one after another. What a badass.

Even though she had a decent amount of development, I would've liked to have seen more of Faith. They could've done one of three things: make her a regular on Angel around season 2, bring her into Buffy at the start of season 6 (think about it, makes a lot of sense), or her own spin-off series. Any of those would've developed her character a lot more, and she had possibly the most potential for character development in the series.

Faith was overrated IMO. Sorry, not a big fan.
I've been thinking more about this question, and I have to say Drusilla! I mean, she's very complex and really erratic. She seems, in some moments, more or less unbeatable (hypnotizing Kendra then killing her with her finger nail, hypnotizing giles into revealing the secret of the Acathla, not to mention tearing that demon's ears off in Angel) and yet, she's not really a "kick ass" character..... And I'm interested in seeing more about her mental state.... she was pure good (I'd like to see more about that), then angelus made her crazy, and now she's a crazed demon but still shows signs of humanity....

I would just like to understand her better.

Drusilla was really underused in the series -- next to Faith, I think she's the most underdeveloped character.

I want to know about his Grant Wood-like childhood. Who are his parents, his siblings. I want to know what sport he played in highschool, was he any good? I want to know why he enlisted? What brings a boy from Iowa to Sunnydale? Why The Initiative? Where did he serve? How did that effect him. How did he, Graham and Forrest meet? I want to know how he fell in love with Sam, what their wedding was like. I want all the holes in his story filled.
 
Robin Wood, as well as Nikki. I know there is this great semi-canon novel, but heck I want more and canonical. I am fascinated with this unique Slayer that had a kid and that unique person who had a mother who was a Slayer and was raised by her Watcher. It is such a rich and nuanced material... not to mention Robin's brief fling with Faith and their eventual break up. It is a story waiting to be written.
 
I'd like to see more developped the character of CASSIE because i think she could become a member of the scoobygang. She was very intuitive, she could help the group.
 
I agree about Cassie. I liked her. I also would have liked to see Vi developed more. She was the only one of the potentials that I really liked (other than Amanda). She should have taken the place of Kennedy, imo.
 
I'm gonna add Kate to my list. It really grinds my gears how she just falls off the face of the earth with no word - oooh and lets add Lilah as well, for the same reason.
 
I agree,i loved Lorne and i think he had so much potential,i also think there was alot more they could've done with Gunn.
 
My picks would be Doyle, Kate, and Kennedy. All characters that I loved but were only there for a few select episodes. Also, I wished we could have seen Oz on Angel more, he fitted in way better with AI than with the Scoobies imo.
