Which division of Buffy is your favorite?

I admit, the word division confuse me at this time. My favourite seasons are season 5 and 6 (not sure why I love this season so much since it contains so many things I don't like. Maybe the whole "Life as the big bad.") so I guess I don't really fit in anywhere.

The High School Years - this is when I first got into Buffy, and I love how the characters interact with each other in these years and feel the storylines were better in these seasons

It's the college years for me. I love season 5 them most, but 4 has some really great episodes - if a weak villain. I do like season 6 as well though...and 3....and 2..... This is hard...

High school years without a doubt. I love so much about those years...Bangel, Cander, Woz, the Mayor, Faith. Also Dawn ruined the later seasons as well, which makes the college years even less appealing for me.

Not so long ago, it would clearly have been the Highschool years for me. The comics ruined a lot of my enjoyment for them in hindsight, though, and I'd have to go with Post-Rezz Years now.

how did the comics ruin the high school years? I can see ruining overall but wondering why specifically or more so than others the high school ones.

Really? I never in a million years would have pinned you as High School guy. To be honest I would have thought seasons 6&7 would have been a no brainer for you.

with my mad crush on Highschool Willow? naaah. :D
Scobro agrees: how did the comics ruin the high school years? I can see ruining overall but wondering why specifically or more so than others the high school ones.
Because of a certain character who's always around in the Highschool Years, and thankfully absent most of the time afterwards... and whose arc in S2 I used to love, back then, but find pretty pointless looking back through the S8-lens.

the first one you mentioned.
My favorite season is Season 6, but I still like the High School Years best.
I love the meetings at the library and this atmosphere of the Sunnydale High School. It creates that certain feeling. It's just comfy.

I divide the series into S1-4 and S5-7 myself. Despite the changes in the main cast, S4 feels much more similar to S1-3 than to S5 to me. And those of you who have read more than two posts of mine probably know which division I am going to pick - The High School Years. Those seasons offer an almost perfect balance of drama and comedy, every important character gets enough chances to shine and the Buffy-Willow-Xander friendship makes every other friendship on TV look like a joke.

Because I'm such a huge fan of (...wait for it ...) Giles, I have to say the college years, because his character was more interesting, more involved, and more evolving during those years. And I loved the season 4 set of his pad, and the season 5 set of the Magic Shop.

That said, the high school setting of the show was the very most important thing that kept me watching after I saw the premiere for free on iTunes last September, so I did love the high school years. And I did love the library. It's always a bit wrenching to see it destroyed in Graduation Day Pt. 2, and very moving to see the destroyed and abandoned library in Doomed. (Though every time I watch that ep I wonder why in heck they hadn't had it cleaned up and demolished by then.)

I genuinely love all the seasons, but I'd choose the high school years over the rest. It's just classic Buffy. 🙂 The reason the show is here is cos of the 'high school is hell' metaphor, so I'm going with the high school years.

My favorite seasons were 5-7..Don't know what you might call them.
