Season 1 - "We saved the world. I say we party."
Season 2 - "Now Leaving Sunnydale. Come Back Soon." (the whole scene of Buffy leaving)
Season 3 - "We're taking a moment..."
Season 4 - "Well, at least you didn't all dream about the guy with the cheese."
Season 5 - "She Saved the World. A lot." (including the gang finding her body)
Season 6 - "We will return... your soul."
Season 7 - "Yeah, Buffy. What are we going to do now?" (the entire final speech at the sinkhole)

I'll have to go with Season 3, such a great end to an era.
 
S1 is the weakest and S4 lacked a depth of meaning. Love S3 because it gave real respect to the end of the high-school era. I love Spike, but I want the ending to focus on Buffy, so S6 is out. S5 was a fake out so lacked the real emotion it was going for. S2 was so emotional and still makes me sad every re-watch. S7 is a wonderful happy ending to the season, and gets extra points for finishing the show on a high note and I love Buffy's face at the end, that slow smile of freedom, believing all the sacrifices have been worth it
 
Season 2 for me.
That scene in S7 was a great moment, but I didn't enjoy that season or the episode enough to be truly moved by it. S3 really is the end of an era, but the scene just makes me feel sad (no more high school, no more Bangel, no more Cordy or Angel). Season 2 is my favorite season and Becoming is perhaps my favorite episode of the show, so I chose this scene. It's also the end of an era, because finally killing Angel is a turning point for Buffy's character (and for Angel's character) and Buffy leaving Sunnydale alters the Scoobies' dynamic forever.
 
Season 5. I watched it when it aired and I really thought that was the end of Buffy and it took an emotional toll on me. I still can't watch it without getting teary eyed.

Season 3 is second. I love the original Scooby Gang reflecting and walking away from the high school.
 
The final scene of season 5 had much more emotional impact for me, than season 7. S5 was the more emotionally wearing season. I love the end of S5. Perfect.
 
Season 2 is emotional with Buffy leaving.
Season 5 could've been a real series ender with the last shot focussing on Buffy's gravestone.
Season 6 was a twist.
Season 7 felt like the series had come full circle. Buffy struggled with being alone as the chosen one and now she wasn't alone.

Season 5 is probably the most emotional one to me.
 
Season 2 and 5 have very powerful endings, but the last scenes of these seasons are kinda short - a single shot of Buffy's grave in season 5, and Buffy riding on a bus in season 2. Not much to go on there. The last scene of 'Chosen', however, is beautiful - all of the surviving scoobies standing on the edge of the hellmouth, talking about the new world they created, with the camera closing in on Buffy's final, well-earned smile (with Faith in the background because the cameraman was a Fuffy shipper). It's so symmetrical it makes me cry. So, yeah - season 7 has the best final scene.
 
I think season 2 has the best ending overall.
But if we talk the last scene I'm leaning more towards season 3. It's a lovely moment with the whole gang.

Special mention to the fun and campy ending of season 1 too.

1) Season 3 with the talk about high school being over...because to me that moment always feels like the show (or at least the show as it had been) being over. I'm being overdramatic but the high school years are my favorite and after that everything changes, so for me it feels like a very final ending of an era, even more than the actual end in season 7.

2) Season 5 the shot of the scoobies crying and Buffy's grave gets me every time.

3) Season 7 the shot of Buffy's face is perfect, and also proof that Fuffy is in fact endgame.

4) Season 2 Buffy riding out of town traumatized and alone was pretty emotional.

5) Season 4 the scoobies are back together for some witty banter. Enjoy it while it lasts!

6) Season 1 aww witty banter with no fear of extinction.

7) Season 6 I love Spike but enough of him already.
 
Season 3 for me. It's my favorite season and I love the high school setting so it's sad to see it gone. "Fire bad, tree pretty". Giles saving Buffy's diploma. Angel leaving. Cordelia's last scene. Oz saying they survived high school. The last time we see the original gang all together. I just love it.

I'm sure it was Joss' call to have that last shot hint about Buffy's one true love. :D
I vote for season four, I know that this can be very unpopular, because it wasn't a season like the others: the characters seem, almost, lost themselves, very disconnected from each other and in some way from surrounding reality ( a little bit as " Season Six" ) up to a point of total disintegration ( we can find the same in " Season Seven") but at some point they become " one mysterious/ powerful and ancestral being" and we start to ask ourselves ( I know about previous explanation about The Super Spell) what kind of power, forces and sources they really invoked? I had thought for a moment that " The super Buffy/ Scooby gang" can be dangerous and lost the control and start to destroy everything.... And the last episode was, for me, reallly surprising, because we all think to know very well " The Scooby gang" and so it wasn't! ( I think we can consider this the basic for the definition, personality traits and future choices of the characters).... And the lapidary sentence " You think you know... what you are, what's to come. You haven't even begun" is very anguish, cryptic and make you feel like a soldier before something impossible to avoid and fight even if equipped with every weapon and determination.....

S4- The long S2-S4 arc ends. "Who's Connor?" always gets me emotional.
 
For "Buffy," I would say Season 5, ONLY on the stipulation that it would serve to lead into Season 1 of "Faith, Yhe Vampire Slayer" the next year.

Since that didn't happen, then Season 7. We were given a degree of closure for every character but Spike, and we already knew that he was going to pop back up as a thorn in Angel's backside the next year.

For "Angel," probably Season 4, but most definitely NOT the cliffhanger Season 5.
 
there is something charming about the irreverent way in which S1 ends, the way the danger thwarted is sort of casually dismissed and shrugged off: to me, it illustrates very well the quality of the show as not taking itself too seriously....and also the spirit of the show's "danger is beaten, wipe your hands clean of it and move on as if nothing happened", an orientation that helps keep the characters perspective straight and it also helps them not dwell too much on what is really happening, because to do so would be to feel the full enormity of their responsibility and possibly a lot of hopelessness. So in this sense, that attitude is a matter of necessity and survival. In any case, the end of S1 I felt brought out for plain view this quality of the show...and it is charming to me. The closing scenes of S7 also has that feeling to it as well.
 
S7 gets my vote. Nice to see that an unpopular season is getting so much recognition. S5 is my second choice.
 
And I now voted Season 7 into a tie for second place.. The final scene is where Buffy smiles as she realizes that she may be able to live a more normal life like she always wanted.
