Perhaps the most appealing aspect of television though isn't the fantastical settings or thrilling plots at all. It's just the familiarity of getting close to the faces on the screen, and feeling their friendships, their love, their comradery. In that perspective, it doesn't matter what show you choose. Every good show has a cast of characters that's like a family (or they're literally one) and that's something everybody craves deep down.

I think that may limit it to (some) children's shows.

If I got to hang out in Sesame Street, I'd be pretty pleased with that. Actually, I think most people would feel the same way.
