Who here agrees w/ me that S1 is the best season in AtS?

No Althea, unfortunatly I do not agree with you that Angel's first year was the finest.
Season 4 was my personal favorite but who am I? I'm just a poet.
Does my opinion matter? Do I even have an opinion?

I think I should go and sit down for a while, yes, sit down and think about my opinions. 🙂
 
Season 3 is my most fave season of Angel. SI had some of my most favorite Angel eps, though the season itself was not too strong. It relied too much on its connection to BUFFY.
 
ok i've just started watching Angel cause now that buffy's over i need some way to not forget it. anyway, i've only seen the end of season 4 and the beginning of season 1 and some random episodes in between. Not having seen the middle episodes, there is such a big differece between the 2 seasons. I personaly liked season 1 better, i loved Doyle!! I can't belive he died!!! and i think it's funnier too. I like in the 1st episode where angel meets cordy for the first time in LA and he goes "well it's good to see that she's grown as a person"
 
I love certain plotlines and characters from each season, but I find I like Angel more and more with each year. The best thing about S1 was Doyle, but the show was still trying to find itself. I personally like S3 the best ("Waiting in the Wings" and "Loyalty" were great!), but I do love going back and watching the S1 eps to see how the characters and the show have evolved.
 
Season 1 was the best to me as well, so I agree completely! Season 2 was good, Season 3 was OK, and that ok part applies to Season 4 as well. But, Season 1 was just great!
 
I've got to admit, season 1 of Angel is deffinetly one of the best seasons ever made! I think its with Angel finding new friends and seeing where he can fit in, and how he can fit in after moving away fron Sunnydale which is part of it. He makes new friends, and starts to make a connection with people, it just really pulls in viewers I think 🙂

"Angel" Gets Better & Better

Sorry, but I totally disagree that Angel Season 1 is the best and that "Angel" only gets worse each season. Me and my best friend (I got him into the show) both agree that "Angel" only gets better each season.

Season 3 & 4 are very close, but they are what really made me a die hard fan. IMO, Season 3 & 4 are the best. My friend has yet to see season 4 though.
 
If I had to rank all 5 seasons as of now, it'll be 5,4,2,1,3. As great as season 1 was, it was, afterall, the first season. The later seasons just made things better (cept 3). I mean, if every season was about helping the helpless, Angel would've been canceled a million years ago.
 
I've changed my opinion alot since I first posted in this thread like almost a year ago so I'll post again. I still am not a Connor fan and loathed the Connor/Cordy stuff in season 4, but I've been rewatching season 3 on dvd and I love it way more than when I first watched it. In fact I even think Cordy and Angel were a good match, maybe not what Angel and Buffy had but I still liked what was developing there. The whole season 3 storyline was really interesting and these characters have grown on me so much that I'm even more hooked on the show now. When I get the season 4 dvds that season will probably grow on me too. I gotta say season 5 is probably my new favorite, I think I love it even more than season 1. Here's how I would rank the seasons now:
5, 1, 3, 2, 4

In the Dark (corny, not boring)

There are a lot more eps I found incredibly boring and/or corny, but obviously my brain isn't exactly working right now. The episodes didn't live up to the standards of later seasons. Like I said, ANGEL was still trying to find itself.
 
Ah I loved In the Dark, maybe cause I'm a Spike fan but I didn't find it corny. I really liked Lonely Hearts too even though bits of it were kinda gross. Or maybe I just like corn ::love::
 
I love Season 1. The cross-over episodes were excellent especially I Will Remember You. Cordelia was still slightly self absorbed, her attitude was great and she brought a lot of humour to the show. The first few episodes with Doyle were good. He was a great character!! And it was just a really great season!
 
Yes season one was definetly the best season for me, everything was new and original, and having Doyle also helped. As the seasons have drawn on, i've found them too be getting worse and now dont even watch season 5 ::uh::
 
I loved it, it was very light and wasent as serious, way better with just the 3 of them, then in s2 i loved the Pylea arc, it was awsome!
 
Season One was like Season One of Buffy. It was full of demon of the week episodes but I love it. My order is Season 4, 2, 3, 1, 5.
