Who is the best reccurring character from buffy?

Harmony was my favorite because she was so funny, but she didn't even know it. She was great with Spike. A close second is Drusilla.

I know, I'm not trying to say that IMDb gets to decide whether or not characters are recurring or not. I'm just saying I understand why Tara might not be in a poll like this, because she is so much more important than like all the other recurring characters (maybe with the exception for Joyce), she was in so many episodes and she feels like way more than a recurring character. That might make it a bit unfair to have her in a poll like this one.

The problem being that she falls into a limbo area....she is NEVER allowed to be in the Regular Polls because she is a recurring.....many other polls on other sites have cited this....fans won't put her there....So the only option is put her in the role that she is recurring......i mean even with her in the list, you'd still vote for another character if you prefered them.

Not seriously I see what you're saying, and agree, it's difficult to know where to place Tara. Because even though she was in so many episodes, she was almost never a main character in the same way as Dawn or Joyce or even Faith.

Heh, that is true, I contradicted myself there didn't I? Or not really, but I see how Joyce could be seen as recurring, since she was never one of the Scoobies, still, she was very important to Buffy, which I'm guessing gives you status in this show. Tara was only ever really important to Willow, which kept her on the outside, both in a Scoobie way and in a BtVS way.

nothing would have given me greater pleasure then Tara as a full timer and be able to claim her that now.....its just that with the line being so half and half...either way is right or wrong.....and as it was a thread about recurring.....i had to
Tara achived regular character status in the ep she died. ANY character that appeared in the credits was a regular character in my mind...tara might have been in the opening sequence since S4, but her name appeared in the opening title sequence during 'Seeing Red'
now, back to the topic...i voted for Daral. she was a great recurring character, and i loved her overall story line...she went to being completly evil to redeeming herself for Connor. i loved her story.
although, if Faith had been an option, she would have gotten my vote hands down!!

Sorry Lyri, thats a weakass answer 🙂.....That was done as a nod to the fans.....IF she was truly a regular then she should have been in the credits long before.....i mentioned this already.....
Like i say, IF universally she was recognised as a regular, then i would totally go with it, BUT its pretty 50/50 depending on which site.....and for the pruposes of this thread, if the Likes of Joyce and Andrew are counted recurring, i think Tara should be there.....

The Seeing Red Credit thing could also be seen as a "Tara really does belong in the credits but for different reasons she's not there. This we do to show that she did however belong there." Ah well :)
Darla for me. She was so delightfully wicked. Drusilla a close second. Andrew not far behind in third.

ok, here's the thing. the reason i didn't include tara in this poll is because to me she was not a recurring character. she was in almost every episode for seasons 4-6. and that constitutes cast memeber. as for joyce and andrew, they were not in near as many eps as tara which is why they are RECURRING. not cast. if you dont like it, make your own poll.
as for darla, i loved her in angel but she annoyed me soooooooo much in buffy. i couldnt wait for her to die, but then when we got to see her in angel her character came alive. cus in buffy she was this whiny annoying little girl who seemed like she hadnt been around for 40 years much less 400. but in angel we got to see the real darla, this larger than life woman who was not gonna let anyone push her around or tell her what to do, and sure as hell was not gonna use her. i love that darla, but i hate whiny, whimpering darla.

I cxan undersdtand why someone would leave Tara out......BUT all the reasons i have placed are justifiable for her inclusion TOO..... and as for Joyce not being in as many episodes......thats bull crap...they may not be consecutive BUT Season 1, 2, 3, some 4 and 5 she's been in the show more then characters like Oz and Riley,

ok, i didnt mean it to sound snotty. and im not disagreeing with you yes tara could be part of either sides recurring or not. i just always saw her as a cast member. she was to important to be considered recurring, in my eyes anyway. and joyce was on the show for longer, but she was not in more episodes than tara.
