Question Who is your favorite character and why? - New Members!!

Now, I know this has been discussed a million times before, but we've had such an influx of new members lately, I'd like to hear their opinions.

I am including popular characters from both shows in my options, but considering the fact there's so many characters, it's impossible to include all of them. Feel free to and post your opinion below if your favorite was not included in the options.

Also, please remember to explain why this person/vampire/demon is your favorite character? 😉

I voted Faith because...Besides the fact that she's hot and cool in the same time, I like her rollercoaster life. She's so strong to come back to good side. She never stop her redemption even I think she's done enough. Oh, and she's unlucky too often. Poor her. *hugs Faith*

Spike. He's just an amazing character. To me he was as big a character as Buffy. He stole the show in every season. Think on Angel s5, he comes in and pretty much takes over. He has great chemistry with everyone, think Spike/Buffy, Spike/Angel, Spike/Giles, Spike/Dru, Spike/Anya, and Fred etc etc, everyone. I love almost every character but Spike easily stands out among an amazing cast.

God, why do I love Spike? That is the question isn't it. The reason I didn't give my opinion is because I'd like to hear others opinions 🙂 Most people on here, I'm sure, are tired of my constant yammering about how great Spike is.

Besides, if I get to talking about Spike it'll go on for HOURS lol and I'm trying to work on my paper. I'll be back later when my final, long answer 🙂

I'm not sure I've really participated in one of these before or not. It does seem like it would have been done a lot before, but I can't recall weighing in so here goes:

It would be between Xander and Wes for me, but I ultimately went with Wes because Wes changed so much throughout his time on the show, and unlike other characters, I think he was awesome throughout the entire journey. I like him when he's dark and a little crazy. I like him when he's just this pathetic goofball watcher. And I especially like seeing him turn back into the pathetic goofball during the show's darkest season ("Spin the Bottle"). Alexis Denisof just nails the physical comedy, as well as the deeply disturbed Wesley persona he grows into. Xander makes me laugh, but Nick wasn't really ever pushed as a performer the way Alexis was, so I have to give it to Wes.

Cordelia is a close second!

Also, I love Doyle, but he's not one of my favourites because we only had him for like, 6 episodes, was it? Something stupid like that.

spike for me, but it was close between him, willow, fred, wesley, and giles. i love those five.

I love early Giles (1-3) and like him in 4-5, but as the seasons go on (and he is, essentially, needed less) I don't love him as much.

Whereas Xander's the other way around.

Neither of these are my favourites, but between them they're in my top 5.

FAITH is my number one. I find that she is one of the characters that would really have a story to tell if she was given the chance. Its to bad that they didn't developped her character more. I wish she would have stayed on Buffy after season 3.

After that there is always my little Tara. Its almost impossible to not love her.

After that my list change about every month lol. But for a while now there as been Jenny, Wesley, Kate and Doyle in it

Buffy. Because she has mad skills! She's funny, smart, brave and real.

I'm not that new but what do I care.😛

Willow. I could say it's because I can identify with the quiet, nerdy outsider that she was at the beginning even though I wasn't close to be that smart. Being "old reliable". Boring but someone you could count on. And that I like how she progressed during the show and all the changes she went through. That I liked the first two relationships (I don't mind Killow as much as most do either). All of those things are true and has helped with the "love" but the simple truth is because I had a crush on her. So there. 😀

 

[Buffed]

Definitely Buffy. I find her character fascinating, and I love her development throughout the series. I absolutely love SMG, shes my favorite actress.

Giles is the man. He had me since his whole "books smell" speech. I love nerdy Giles and I love the BA Giles of later seasons. He does what he believes is right and he tries to protect everyone from some of the darker parts of life. Parts of season six just seemed a little hollow without him there.

Plus he plays guitar and listens to Cream and had a crazy rebellious youth. He's like me but an older guy . . . . who is significantly tougher. And also British. And a watcher. . . well THAT list could go on and on.

 

[Willowsgirl]

Willow! I love her for so many reasons. Aside from helping me realize my lesbianism, I love the character because she seems very complete. Through out the course of the show, we see the good and the bad that is in all off us, even if we are sweetie, shy, and lovable 😀. I love characters where you can look back at a series or a movie and really see growth and see the good and the bad. In Buffy, I think Willow is really one of the strongest characters you can point to and say all of that. There are several others in the Angel/Buffyverse, Whedon is excellent at this, and say those things about but Willow stands out in mind.

 

[Rayne]

Spike. I just identify with him from his dorky, poetry writing days all the way to the end. He changes so much and yet...not at all. He's passionate, bold and says it like it is. I love that even without a soul he was able to fall in love and do good. Want to be a better man. Like the heart of William was always present despite the demon and Buffy reawakened it. His transformation was inspirational to me. I think it's because I'm really a hopeless romantic deep inside. He really is loves bitch and so am I.

Fred is the girl for me.
I think Fred is the most perfect character there is on TV. She was just given such a good introduction to the show with the pylea episodes and has had such a beautiful development in the show from crazy taco lady to the beautiful, smart young lady that she was before her unforgivable death.
I think I can just relate a lot to Fred, she's got that crazy/cute thing gong on which I think I've kinda got going on too.

I voted Cordelia, even though my favourite character isn't there. (Wonder who that could be, huh?). Cordy went on one of the largest journeys of all, and proved time and again that she was a worthy champion of the PTB. She was willing to sacrifice herself time after time - without any of Buffy's death wish tendencies. Plus, she was hilarious! What else do you want from a character!?!
