So it's 12 to 11 right now... with Spike, the vamp with a soul in the lead (only by my vote) and Willow, the all powerful witch, close behind! This is a great thread for virgins and the rest. In my opinion, these two deserve to be in the lead. It's great to see that everyone likes different characters, though! I have a lot of love for a lot of the characters....but it all comes down to Spike. He certainly does steal the show.
Why is it really that I love Spike so much? I'd have to say because there's a depth to him that is very mysterious and fascinating. Plus James Marsters is an incredible actor. He plays a bad ass like the best (and who doesn't love a badass), but he gives him more than that. He gives him layers. Spike can be incredibly hot, seductive, beautiful, rude, smooth talking, suave, desperate, caring, selfish, powerful, helpless, smart, lonely, sweet, loving, and many more things. He's also charming and has a confidence about him that makes you want to see what he's going to do next. He also loves Buffy. A character that can show such love and devotion to another is interesting to watch. I love well, love stories!! Even if they don't turn out like I want them to. He does seem to be able to stand next to any character on the show and be just as fun to watch if not more. He's also got a story of his own. He can stand next to Buffy and Angel as a character that's capable of saving the world, just like they are. I love how he came on Smallville as the bad guy. I was watching the dvd commentary and one of the old writers of Buffy said something like the show needed a Spike. He was right! I heart Spike.
