Who Likes BtVS Season One?

I rather like season one. I think the production values aren't as high as they would be in later years, I hate Walter Murphy's borderline amatuerish music score (not a patch on the work Christophe Beck, Robert Duncun and Rob Kral would bring to the Buffy/Angel verse in later years), but what it lacks in those regards it more than makes up for with great acting, writing and stories. You gotta love a season of television that has episodes like The Pack, Angel, Nightmares and Out of Mind, Out of Sight.

I think Season 1 is good. It's not as polished as the later seasons, true, but let's not forget that it's fairly low budget stuff from the Nineties. Just as it wouldn't be fair to say that our old VW Golf was a lousy car because it's simpler than our current SAAB, it's unfair to compare early Buffy with the late seasons, not to mention with today's fancy series.

Season one is amazing, great writing and awesome story lines.
But i can't watch it! It just makes me cringe whenever I watch it, nothing wrong with it but I can't watch it knowing how it turns out, for example I can't watch Buffy and Angel moments in season 1 cause I think "Noooo! It'll end up bad! Don't do that or whatever will happen"
Another reason I can't watch it is the bad effects (I didn't watch Buffy when it was still airing cause I was like a baby, so suddenly I'm watching a nineties tv show and i just go *(WOAH(*(^)
And the actors seem so uncomfortable with their lines and characters. Maybe uncomfortable isn't the right word, but you know what i mean. They hadn't really grown into their rolls yet.

I love season one simply because its when i fell in love with BTVS. The first ep had me hooked from the word go and i've never looked back.

I love season 1 because through it i was introduced to the Buffyverse!!!I can say it was nice...my personal favourites are "Angel" and "Prophecy Girl"...it might only include 12 episodes but it managed to introduced many monsters...intersting characters...and i like the way Buffy hangs out with Xander and Willow who are not considered "in" or sth like that...because when she was in L.A she was also alienated because she was the slayer...and season 1 introduced Angel and even Darla!

I adore season 1!

It may be a little cheesy at times, but even back then it had originality, great humor, and good characters. Season 1 is kind of my "comfort" show. Whenever I'm in a bad mood or sick I watch some of it and feel better at seeing the Scoobies so lighthearted and innocent.

In its own way I loved season one, after all it did make me want to watch the show. I always found the Master super funny at times and loved how each character was different and had their own flaws and what not. The wittyness that came from Buffy was always fun to see Giles try to make sense of it all.

Just watching season 1 again and its a really enjoyable season. The "Nightmares" episode is a brillant episode as is "Angel". I'am starting to think it doesn't get the credit it deserves. I love how it introduces the characters and at this point i fail to see how you couldn't love any of the core four. Their relationship is brillant during season 1.

Although I loved other seasons of Buffy season 1 had a lighter fun feel to it especially Buffy and Angel's interaction which was sweet as they both seemingly had no idea what would happen later on in season 2.

I enjoy the B-movie horror feel and episodes like The Pack and Prophecy Girl still hold up even after so many seasons. I still re-watch Welcome to the Hellmouth/The Harvest.

I always enjoyed season 1 and get boggled that so many people underrate it..Buffys baby fat/clothing..Angels acting..Willows nerdiness..Xanders obsession..Giles not all knowledgable yet (kind of weaker too..not as dominant yet)..Cordys bitchiness..core four had great chemistry from the start of the show. I'm definitely glad that other Willow was replaced!
