Just wondering as Faiths never really settled for any man or women in the show so who does everyone think she'd be best with?

Herself.

Faith doesn't need a relationship, and I'm really, really glad that Faith is the one person in this verse who the writers are happy to leave on her own. Ace and Demi people need someone to look up to, as well, not to mention those people out there who are completely satisfied and happy hooking up but don't want to settle down.

Perfect answer!
The only person she's shown to be wanting to be with: Buffy.

Angel will always be friendship/family, and Wood was lust that didn't last.

But I'm content to see Faith on her own for the time being- she can play the long game. 🙂

Me! But that wasn't an option. lol. I'd say her and Buffy, since they might end up alone anyways, they can be alone together 😀. Angel and Faith are better as friends. Spike is too hung up on Buffy. Willow, I don't believe has ever shown an interest in Faith romantically. Xander is with Dawn now, but I wouldn't be against him and Faith getting together again. And isn't Wesley dead? While I thought they worked well in s4 I didn't see it to be romantic.

lol you would say you
Wesley: After she tortured him I doubt Wes would ever look at Faith like that. Though I did enjoy watching them work together as Slayer-Watcher in AS4.
Xander: If the show had taken their one night stand in a different direction, then maybe. But after what went down in S3, no.
Angel: Better as friends. There needs to be at least one man in her life who she can have a strictly platonic friendship with.
Spike: I can't see it lasting longer than a one night stand, and even then Spike is too hung up on Buffy to reciprocate.
Willow: Um, no.
Buffy: Ding ding ding. BUT since I doubt that's gonna happen any time soon...

Faith is perfectly fine on her own, but if she's going to be in a relationship with someone, I'd rather it be someone new who she hasn't interacted with.

Obviously I'm a big Fuffy shipper, but it goes beyond just the romantic aspect. I like Buffy and Faith's relationship because it's one of the most complicated and deep relationship of the verse. I love the slayer bond that is shared, I love the love they have for each other while also hating each other. I love the betrayal, I love how hurt Buffy was over it, I love the strained relationship, but also the admiration they still have for each other. I love the relationship as a whole, but it doesn't have to be romantic, I just love all that they stand for and the uniqueness of the bond they share.

As far as having a true romantic partner, I would be okay with Buffy, but I also love Faith on her own. I think she's a really well written character that doesn't need a man or a woman in her life to be who she is. And she's one of the only character on TV that remains single for the entirety of the show. We definitely need more of those. We need representation for ace/aro/demi people, and although it's not out right stated, I think Faith is on that spectrum.

From "Chosen 7ABB22":

ROBIN
Faith, there's a whole world out there that you don't even know about, and a lot of the men in it are pretty decent guys. They'd surprise you.

FAITH
(shrugs) Guy looks at me, let's just say his priorities shift.

ROBIN
Why, because you're so hot?

FAITH
It's what it is, yo.

ROBIN
Oh, please. I am so much prettier than you are. (Faith seems taken aback) Oh, and, uh, for the record, our little encounter didn't exactly change my world.

FAITH
You're tripping! That was rock 'em, sock 'em!

ROBIN
No, no, no, no. It was—it was—it was nice enough, you know, and you're—you're very, um... mm, enthused, and I think with a little more experience—

FAITH
Dude, I got mad skills.

Faith believes any guy who looks at her is immediately overcome by lust and this belief will not let her accept a relationship on any other terms - not because she wouldn't like it but because she thinks it is impossible (other than the father-daughter relationship she had with the Mayor). I don't think she is long-term relationship material but I could see numerous trysts in her future. Personally, I welcome the respite from relationship angst. It is sad to see people define themselves by relationship, romantic, family or otherwise. Somebody has to be a romantic ronin.

The conversation you pointed out also kind of strike me as Faith just not understanding or not wanting romantic feelings, but simply wanting physical/sexual relationships (aromantic). It could just be that Faith had bad experiences with finding an honest good guy, but it could also just be that Faith herself is into the whole sex thing and doesn't want more. I'd have to reread the comics, I know she dates Wood for a while but I forget how the whole break up went. I always got the impression though that Faith just wasn't into romantic feelings.

Actually, the comics don't elaborate on why they broke up or even how long they were together. However, Wood awkwardly trying to make conversation and Faith's overall attitude towards him suggest that he was the one to call it quits.

Oh yes I vaguely remember this, I'd be curious to hear the backstory on this

It didn't help Faith's self esteem that Wood called to ask her to go kill a bunch of children turned vampires.

TBH I feel as though Faith is so cynical when it comes to relationships that being put off by her ex doesn't bother her too much.

A horribly angsty 'will they, won't they' with Buffy, with the viewers/readers officially in on it, possibly with a couple of other characters too, culminating in a massive blow up in the penultimate episode of the final series with a viewer/reader phone in for the outcome.

Absolutely none of the above! If Faith is going to have a relationship I would much rather it was a fresh start with someone new rather than just crowbarring her into a relationship was someone established just for the sake of it. Brandt seems nice and they look like they're getting along well.

Possibly. If it was someone completely new, maybe someone completely normal ala Hawkeye in Avengers: AoU?

I think that's what the writers are going for, at least in the short term. Something non-dramatic to show that Faith's overall outlook on relationships have changed.

I think Faith just hasn't been doing any dating all these years is simply because she has more important things to do- figure her life out (which she's still doing) and find her place in the world through jobs, friends, actions etc. I'll bet those priorites speak to a lot of people.

I think it bothered her, the call from Wood - he was all business first, and it upset her a little; after he said what he wanted from her, she dismissed him.

The thing is that the fact Faith doesn't date it's not a good thing, I don't think it's a (conscientious) choice. She isn't able to open herself, she is afraid to be vulnerable and be abused in some way or another. To be afraid to commit like this is not healthy, and it will have its tool soon or later.

All this trauma certainly is due to her crappy childhood, when she couldn't count on the adults in her life - and that was transferred to her adult life.

It doesn't help that she thinks – and sometimes that really happens, I figure – that guys want her only because she is hot and bad men (the Mayor, her dad) approach her with evil agendas

Or even good men look for her to do “dirty jobs”, in order to protect the sensibilities of their protégées: Wood asked her to kill vampire kids (he believed that it wasn't a job for his squad of baby Slayers) - and, worse, he didn't tell her they were turned, she thought she was sent to save the children!

And Giles enlisted her to kill another Slayer - he had Buffy and an army of Slayers at his call, but to kill a human being, who would be better than Faith?

Then, Giles is brought back – which happened with Faith's help – and he chooses to be with Buffy.

I don't have to tell you about my daddy issues. But I've always wished I told you this – you're the best I ever got. And by the time I got that through my stubborn-ass skull, it was- it was too late to... Just come back to us, OK? Come back to me. Please.

The thing is that the fact Faith doesn't date it's not a good thing, I don't think it's a (conscientious) choice.

I've got to disagree. I think it is a conscious choice by Faith to put other people before herself. I'm talking about Season 9 here obviously- before that Faith just isolated herself and wanted to be left alone. She was numb to the slaying lifestyle she wanted to escape from it (her trying to secretly get fake passports to flee the country or what have you)
But afterward the thing with Buffy and Genevieve she regains her focus, turns down Giles offer (a clean slate- a chance to escape) and rededicates herself to helping those who are (maybe) might be going to go down the path she almost when down (or went down but came back from).

Then in Season 9 Faith is helping Angel, but also helping a young group of slayers who are in danger of losing their way. After that percieved failure the reason she leaves Angel is specifically to find her place in the world, to stop putting others first because it doesn't seem to be working as something that's going to provide her with selfworth.

Faith needs to figure out who she is. Then maybe, if she chooses, she can find out who she's supposed to be with in any romantic sense.

All this trauma certainly is due to her crappy childhood, when she couldn't count on the adults in her life - and that was transferred to her adult life.

Yeah I agree with that but I think Faith got more stable in prison. It takes a hell of a lot of strength to go through all that and come out better pretty much on your own. Crappy childhood? sure, but not a crappy adult.

It doesn't help that she thinks – and sometimes that really happens, I figure – that guys want her only because she is hot and bad men (the Mayor, her dad) approach her with evil agendas

Well I would point out that Faith approached the Mayor with evil intent, not the other way round, but he did lead her further down that rabbit hole of badness- so agreed.
Her Dad later on decieved her and Faith got severly derailed into trying an easy out from all her pain. It's ironic that Angel, the king of the easy out, talks her around by saying that the pain inside herself needs to be dealt with.

Point is Faith isn't that fragile- she's getting tougher, she's a work in progress when it comes to trusting others but she is getting better at it. I don't think she's afraid to love or terrified of intimacy or anything like that.
Maybe she doesn't think its important because she hasn't properly experienced it, but I don't think so. Some people are just naturally that way inclined, as @Blaze and @Lyri have pointed out.

I just think that, at this time in her life, Faith feels like she just doesn't need it. I don't see any evidence that she's pining away or lonely or hard and cynical about any of it (she actually has indicated that she sees her days of one-night stands being over as a sign of maturity).

If any of what you're saying were true I would expect to see some Buffy-like thought bubble, maybe a daydream or speculation about guys or romance but there's nothing- its not in her thought processes I'm guessing.

And Faith has had some opportunities for intimacy/sex- she flat-out turned down Spike for example. She was also very rich and living in the centre of the thriving metropolis of London (its really very easy to find a date there...), she could've embarked on something if she wanted. But she was worried about her friend and also about the slayers she was trying to take under her wing- she was busy.

Either that or her OTP is an ocean and a continent away on the West Coast and thinks Faith's a selfish butthead. In those circumstances maybe Faith just doesn't want to settle and so waits it out. 🙂

Yeah, Wood is a massive jerk, I've always known this and those events are the ultimate proof. He (seemingly) dumped Faith but still needs her for all the nasty little jobs.

Honestly I'd like to know more about why/how they broke up.

And Giles enlisted her to kill another Slayer - he had Buffy and an army of Slayers at his call, but to kill a human being, who would be better than Faith?

Again, Giles is being pretty utilitarian but he's a Watcher and he's got form for doing this with anybody, not just Faith. He spells out what he wants, what he will give Faith in return and Faith accepts because she thinks that this is her way out- her only option.
She's ultimately wrong though which is why she doesn't try and kill Genevieve, but instead help her- with tragic results.

Also add the fact that Genevieve is an extremely powerful slayer means that, if Giles doesn't want to involve Buffy, he has to involve somebody of comproble power to get the job done and protect Buffy from a powerful slayer/warlock combo. If you Buffy with a killer edge then Faith is the obvious choice.

The difference is, I guess is that Giles is giving Faith an open, obvious choice, unlike the Mayor- it's one job and your done. It doesn't make it right, but it does make it...less worse? Faith is an adult now, not a scared teenager, she knows she's being used but makes the choice willingly.

Then, Giles is brought back – which happened with Faith's help – and he chooses to be with Buffy.

Giles who was, lest us not forget, not an adult. He's an adult mind stuck in a hormonally charged young teen. And he was, not to put to finer point on it, lusting after Faith whenever she was around and it freaked the both of them the hell out.

So Giles made a pretty selfish, but ultimately understandable choice to return to the life he knew- being at Buffy's side. I would've liked to see him be a bit more honest about his motives- his speech to Faith about her not needing him was untrue and ultimately self-serving.
It would've been better if he said that he couldn't be around Faith because of his new condition...but maybe that would've played into some of Faith's other preconceptions about herself.

Agree. But that's about her as a person, not about her issues with commitment.

As a person she's grown a lot, but she still afraid of loving.

She's matured enough to understand that she won't find love or caring in one-night stands; and she is too busy to think about her commitment issues. But I don't think she loses sleeping over it, either.

I had a difficult time answering this. Honestly, I wanted to say Buffy cuz I could see the want Faith had for her. But i could never see Buffy going for it (everything i say is based on the show, I haven't read any of the books) so I couldn't say they would be in a relationship. I chose Spike. But the Spike I am talking about is season 7, souled Spike. I saw their couple of scenes where they were just talking, hanging out (before the pummeling started) and that is something kinda rare for Faith. To be able to just sit and talk, not even really trying to screw him. They were cute, so I thought they would have been perfect. Although I do believe it would'be taken time...cuz at that exact moment, Spike was still utterly and completely in love with Buffy. But i do think given some time, if they had continued being friends and Buffy continued to not put out with him then I think he could've fallen for her. I felt as though he did seem at least attracted to her.

In the comics, Spike actually tries hitting on her, and Faith says maybe if he were over Buffy. So even then, years later, Spike is still hung up on B. They are currently together as of Season Ten.

I do agree they had sparks (though to be fair, Spike and Faith could create sparks with just about anyone), but Faith isn't really Relationship Gal, so a relationship with an immortal being with the added hangup of knowing it's probably doomed anyway, would be of no interest to her. I say she and Spike would be really good friends if they found the time, different than her friendship with Angel even, in that they have a lot in common personality-wise.
