I thoroughly hate them both, with a burning, demonic passion. I tried to accept them, but oh my God! I could only picture them both being eaten alive by giant pitbulls.
Every time they appeared on-screen, I practically clawed at my eyes. Riley (with his white bread, GI Joe persona) and Kennedy (over-confident, and far too smart-mouthed) were just...a torment to me.
I can't be the only one who feels like this...right?

With you on Riley. What kind of psych major has no idea that if you are an alpha male, you don't try to get together with an alpha female? There can only be one alpha in a relationship. Riley holds the distinction of being the only elite soldier to fail at everything we see him do. And the military taking him back after a mutiny? Is somebody on that writing staff on crack? The military is not a bromance.

Kennedy is different. She is the only one of the potentials who actually likes her job. So she seduces Willow, big deal. I can't think of anyone who needed it more. And when Amy gave Willow the curse of being Warren, Kennedy got her out of it. She may be a smart mouth but she actually is smart and this continues into the comics. If you want someone who sounded like an entitled pain in the butt, that would be Rona.

I really dislike Riley, but I don't find him annoying. I just don't like his 'wanna be nice gutly but is actually kind of a jerk" personality, and I don't like his attitude towards a lot of stuff.

But Kennedy, I love Kennedy. Might be the only big Kennedy fan around here.

I've been on record numerous times saying that I really like Kennedy.

I like Kennedy, too. And Riley... I neither dislike him nor think he is annoying. I just don't like the conservative farm boy in him, so to speak. Capitan Cardboard is a good nickname for him.

Kennedy. Because she was meant to be an annoying brat. She was the anti-Tara.

Exactly. Kennedy was supposed to be totally different to Tara. Noisy, aggressive, conceited, even rich, whereas Tara was quiet, almost shy, quite humble. and, while we never really got any indication of her financial standing, I always got the feeling that she was attending college on her mother's life savings, and was having to be very careful in order to make that stretch through a 4 year degree.

Riley, on the other hand, was only annoying in the fact that he was there instead of somewhere else, like, maybe, Alaska.

I don't like Kennedy because I don't like rich, manipulative spoiled brats - all of which she called herself.

I grew to loathe Riley - and I loathe him more each time I see him. I loathe what he does, his sense of entitlement, and the way he turns into a whiny high maintenance bitch.

you put it in clear terms
Maybe Riley because he out stays his welcome. His best moments are better than Kennedy's, but I guess his naffness stands out more than Kennedy's.

Neither of them is annoying, but if I had to pick, it would be Riley.

I find Riley's 'cardboard-ness' and lack of personality annoying, but I blame that on the writers since it's not Riley's fault at all...

Well I blame it on the actor not being very good too, but then again they cast him, and you are right the writing isn't very good at all.

I actually like Riley, so I would have to go with Kennedy

I used to HATE Riley, but now I find his time on the show quite endearing, even if he is a basic niceboi, especially in s4.

So jah, Kennedy.

Absolutely 100% the most annoying is Kennedy - I don't understand the point of her. Every time I see her on-screen with Willow I feel like screaming "Willow, you can do so much better!" I like to think that even a superior wicca like Willow can suffer from the ye olde relationship rebound. But then, I love her relationship with Tara, so maybe I'm biased.

Riley isn't annoying per se, just a bit bland. Captain Cardboard - lives up to the name.

Captain Cardboard. LoL!
i know this is going to be an unpopular sentiment, but i like both of them, more and more with repeat viewings.

in fact, both of them really endear themselves to me in the killer in me, and riley isn't even in it. for riley to trust buffy with the decision to remove the chip from spike, especially after their encounter in season 6 is pretty amazing, and shows, once again, what a stand-up guy riley is. further, riley really steps up big for me in two episodes: season 4's new moon rising and season 6's as you were. in the former, riley jeopardizes his entire career to help oz escape the initiative, especially moving considering earlier in the episode, he had been rather prejudiced against human-demon couplings. in the latter, even after finding buffy in bed with spike (easily her lowest point, i think), riley still tells her that none of that stuff touches who she really is. riley may be dullish at times, but he's honorable.

also in the killer in me, kennedy, who my be a touch off-putting because of her personality, really rises to the occasion both in confronting amy, but, more importantly, helping willow to let go. kennedy believes in willow, and it is that support that allows willow to resist turning into warren. kennedy's forcefulness in this entire episode is really kind of awesome, and i really saw her in a new light on my recent re-watch.
