Who will be watching Cabin in the Woods?

I saw it yesterday, I'm a fan of Cloverfield but didn't like Cabin in the Woods, it didn't feel cohesive enough to be a movie, and towards the end I felt the writers' lost interest and so decided to go full bore red blood and gore, just for the shock value of it/to appeal to fanboys of slasher films.

It worked better as a comedy film than anything!

Drew Goddard wrote for BtVS, Angel & Lost, and essentially that's all Cabin in the Woods is, a mixtape of those shows pasted together.

in saying all that, it was great to see Amy Acker on the big screen!

Tom Lenk was in it too...but I'm not all that big a fan of his acting, he seems to always play the same unlikeable character.

Eventually saw it, left me with an odd feeling at the end, certainly had similar themes to Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon and had elements as we all know of past Whedon projects and a little Dharma feeling to it too, and yup imo its a good movie.... funny, bloody and is still making me think a day later.

The movie was great. The ending was even better.

I understand why people think the ending is weird and unconventional. That's the point. The entire movie is just a satire of the classic slasher movie, and the ending does a great job of parodying that kind of film. I loved every second of it.

I'm seeing it this evening, and I'm so excited! It's rated 18A here though, and I'm only 17. Lets hope I can pass for 18! 😛

I am going to go see this. I am taking with me some people who don't like Joss or his work so I am hoping this might convert them! I am really worried I will be let down but i'm sure it will be awesome!

I want to see it but I doubt I'll see it in theaters. I want to butttt I just have a feeling that it won't work out. Grr.

Turns out I was wrong! I did see it in theaters 😉 today, and it was awesome. It was definitely better than I expected.

See it everyone!! It's good. Joss fan's will love the humor and non Joss fans will like it if the are fans of horror. My husband and roommate (both non Whedon fans) really liked it.
