A big fat 'NO!'....I will never watch the WB again
I second that! Everytime i'm flipping through the channels I always quickly flip past that channel ::fire::

Personally, I was never really interested in anything that was dark and gothic. I never saw the original Dark Shadows, but it sounds far too much like a soap opera for my tastes. It makes me wonder if anyone at the WB truly understood or appreciated Buffy and Angel. Both shows were well written, entertaining and thought-provoking. What I have seen of Dark Shadows does not seem to come close in any of these categories. As much as I would love to have something new to watch on television, I do not think that I will be watching more than a few minutes of Dark Shadows.

Which goes back to my point...DS is not meant to replace Angel. It is not the same kind of show at all. It is closer to the OC than Angel.

Personally I remember NBC doing a Dark Shadows a few years back and it lasted not even one season.... I can honestly say i will not watch it.. When it's on I'll pop in one of my seasons on DVD and watch it instead... UPN just needs to go ahad and pick up Angel like they did BTVS,, The sooner the better.. Question I nknow this is a little off the subject, but has anyone watched Tru Callings yet?? And if so do you like it???

I am not going to watch Dark Shadows. After Angel ends I am not going to watch the WB. I can watch Charmed on TNT.

The fact of the matter is the WB puts on shows that no one else will touch. If that weren't the case, we'd be seeing Angel on another network next season.

U cant say that cause UPN signed BTVS after WB canceled it... They may still do the same with Angel... I like Smallville

Don't know, they're struggling with ratings right now, especially with WWE SmackDown not doing as well as they expected.. Plus have you seen some of these petitions going around to save Angel??? I've like signed eveyone I can... The fans were able to save the toy line when Moore Actions decided to cancel it, after the response they got they changed their minds, and we have a new line coming out....

I know dark shadows isn't like angel, but it seems to me that they are trying awfully hard to replace like with like in the networks opinion. You know one vampire for another..
I probably will watch it a few times give it a chance, but unless it beyond stellar I probably won't watch it regularly. Nothing can replace Buffy and Angel IMHO and another vampire show just seems blah.. I'll watch Tru Calling to support Eliza because I think she's a great actress, but it's not a good as Buffy or Angel was.. I am disgruntled with television networks in general, and it always seems that they keep the mediocre shows forever and cancel all the good ones.. It was a miracle Buffy and Angel were around as long as they were, and we can only hope that someday the standard of television shows will rise, or at least they will devote an entire network to Joss.
lol.. Hey I can dream can't I!

The thing is, that those mediocre shows are the ones people are watching. If you want to blame someone, blame the people who think Raymod is entertainment.

I do blame them. Did you watch American Idol tonight? There are three contestants on that show of obvious superior talent. Everyone thinks so. The judges, the critics, even the public probably thinks so, but they voted those contestants to bottom of the list, and they voted one of the two most talented off the show.

Why? Because the public has been brainwashed into thinking a talent show is a popularity contest.

In this world today, people choose to eat MacDonald's hamburgers, and think of it as a satisfying experience. They pay companies exorbitant prices to wear clothes that advertise manufacturer's products. They buy music from companies that sue them and their 12 year old children. They vote for politicians that pander to the rich when they themselves are not rich.

People of western civilizations are slaves to corrupt masters, and yeah, I blame them for it, because they choose to be. Does that mean I can't also blame the evil suits that mastermind the corruption. I don't think so.

Easily. I can blame them for being bad businessman. Forcing unpalatable crap down people's throats is a bad long-range business decision. Over-charging for it is another one. Cancelling the one show on your network that is actually rising in the ratings in a prized demographic (male: 18 to 34) when that demographic is disappearing on every network is just lunacy.

Rejecting a proven money-making product like Angel for a pig in a poke like Dark Shadows isn't too brainy either.

But Angel is obviously not making money. If it was, they wouldn't cancel it.

Cancelling shows you can't sell advertising on is good business.

I'm glad you brought that up Buffy, because there's something I've been curious about. I know you study the trades, so you're the person to ask.

I remember reading a post in the Why We Fight forum. It concerned people who were writing the sponsors, and telling them to complain to the WB about the Angel cancelation.

One person received what appeared to be a form letter from a sponsor explaining how the sponsors had no control over what shows were shown. They claimed they bought TV time in blocks, and didn't even know what shows their advertisements were going to be on.

Now, I have no more love for advertisers than I do for the WB, so I don't necessarily swallow what they're feeding, but I'd like to ask you, "What is the truth, there?"

I don't think I believe the advertisers here, nevertheless this "We can't get advertisers interested" line we're hearing from Warner Brothers, sounds like nothing more than their excuse of the week.

Isn't the the most sought after demographic amongst advertisers the 18 to 34 group. Haven't the ratings for that demograhic been rising for Angel since last season? In fact isn't the 18 to 34 male group disappearing from television in general, yet rising in Angel? Aren't the the 18 to 34 ratings falling in shows still with the WB like Everwood and Charmed? Isn't Angel the number 2 rated show of viewers 18 to 34 on the WB?

If the answer to any 2 of those questions is yes, please explain to me why advertisers wouldn't be interested in Angel. Why would they prefer to take a chance on an unproven product like Dark Shadows?

Soz to interrupt about Angel (btw ::crying2: here we haven't got S4, S5 nor S6 yet) never heard of Dark Shadows, but since you talk about other shows I wonder if anyone here knew about the show "haunted".
We got that lately in here & I never watched coz I have no time but I wonder if it was a good show?

Have you seen an ad for Charmed lately? Every week they try to sex that show up more and more. I am sure it is not actually working, but the WB is definitely trying to attract males to the network with Charmed.
