Dont get me wrong pplz...I love buffy angel and dont think its one bit weird when guys watch it...Shoot i like it..Gives me something to talk about when im outta words...

people who make fun of buffy eather havnt given it a chance or are just being trendy...."Oh noone likes buffy or angel..Even though angel is the hottest guy to walk the planet, i wanna fit in..So lets go make fun of the people who arent dumb enough to hide it.."

All my buds just leer uncomfortably and say "Heh, heh, we like Buffy too..", then change the subject. Don't think there's a lot of appreciation for the deep subjects and complex plots there...That being said, I'm just gonna stick with the idea that B/A fans are a couple of standard deviations above the average on the IQ curve!

Gosh I get made fun of all the time for watching Buffy and Angel.

It doesn't bother me that much i just look at the person making fun and smile, which of course annoys them but its like i have a secret.........a good secret that they will never know or understand.....The Buffyverse!!!

All of my friends except for about one of them think that im totally insane for liking BtVS i think that its like the best thing EVER!!! but i kinda thought that it would be the other way round that guys would watch it and girls wouldnt why i thought that i dont know cos why couldnt us girls wouldnt watch it?? oh well. 😀

Yeah, someone asks for an explanation of why this is happening, and them you give it to them, in detail, and you can see the question in their eyes, "Do you have a life?". Yup. BtVS and Angel. Best shows on TV, even in reruns.

Because, the people who haven't seen the show and judge you for it, are small minded dumb **** (something that starts with an F), that care only about social acception. Who don't value personal opinion as it limits their possiblity to blend into the heard. And if they have seen the show once or twice, they enjoyed it, but keep it quiet, cause watching Buffy and Angel isn't currently labeled 'cool', instead they watch series like Friends every week, just so, they can talk to the most popular kids in school about that weeks ep.

^^^ you put it beautifully.

My "friends" make fun of the show so badly....and I get all this anger inside of me! they haven't even watched the show, and those who did can't understand its depth because they have no depth to themselves.
One day they made fun of it so bad, they were saying "Oh, let's kill a vampire, hahahahaha, it's so stupid!" I got so mad. But now I've learned that they don't deserve me getting all huffy about it. All that matters is that I love it and there are other people (like you guys) that understand it too. Buffy Rocks! Period.

A lot of people I know just think it's kind of dumb. I actually have shown some people episodes, and they actually realized that they liked the show. Same goes for Angel. People usually just know that I'm obsessed and are good with it. I hate it when people who watch Gilmore Girls say that BTVS and ATS sucks...Gilmore Girls is not any better!

Well, i think girls can relate a little more to the show, even though there are male characters, but I don't think it's wierd, or kinda freaky. I mean, the creator is a guy!

Also, i think the title sometimes scares ppl off. I mean, c'mon "Vampire Slayer" might lead people to think it's a cheesy show, which we all know it's not. You need to pick a good episode to start off with too, if you're unfamiliar with it. One of the things I like aboout Buffy is the the entire series was a continuation of everything. Every episode made (aah, all this past-tense is upsetting me 🙁 ) a difference. SOme friends i've tried to get into the buffy-verse have been like "wait, why is buffy beating that one vamp Spike up?" and I say " um, well, it's a long story. He was evil, and fell in love.." and it's hard to explain what's happened in that last seasons ( at least for me). I am gonna shut up now, 'cause I will start repeating things soon, if I haven't started already....

As a guy I'm generally labeled as a goofball as it is. I let, everyone, everywhere know that I watch buffy as it is my favorite show!
My personal experience is this, When Buffy first came out I was a senior in High school, and I sneared at the thought of buffy as a show, mainly because during that era, Television studio's had produced a multitude of movie spin-offs directed at teens. These proved to be intolerable. ( i.e. clueless ect..ect). I just dismissed Buffy as one of these and in my head I gave it a month, before they cancelled it. I myself started watching the show perhaps a year ago, the more I watched the more I loved it. Thus my love affair with Buffy began
Anyway since that time I've seen every episode, save for a few in season seven. And when I tell people about the show, I generally get looks, but every single time, the people have only vaguely heard of the show, and it's the name, that makes them pass pre-emptive judgement. However I have not met a single person that I can't get to like the show, it takes some convincing to get some people to watch it. But ten times out of ten, I can say with confidence if someone actually sits down and watches a few episodes, they get hooked and appreciate it for the art of television that it really is!

I got my grandmother hooked on Buffy ... I know it has no relevance. I'm just saying that people will generally get hooked to the show once they hear enough about it. 😉 So go out there and annoy all your friends and tell them to watch! They'll be better for it!

None of my friends like it either and i might mention it in a convo or something and all of them will go "urgh" or mabye sigh just as i have said it or something its really annoying.

I think anyone who really gives Buffy a fair chance will get hooked. And, I ALWAYS mention Buffy ( and Angel) in conversation. About an hour ago me and my friends were talking about gum ( don't ask), and automatically I thought "Gunn." See?

Some of the guys I know say that they think a girl fighting vampires is just plain dumb and creating a show revolving around the slaying of vamps is a stupid idea. They just don't get the genius of Joss Whedon or the metaphors and drama that revolve around these well-crafted characters. Some of them watch Yu-Gi-Oh!, which is about card games in which evil ALWAYS reveals their plan to the good guys, so I don't know what they're talking about...

Yeah, no one I know watches it. Its kinda annoying, my friends always give me a strange look when i tell them i watch it, that or they point and laugh😀..o well BUFFY IS THE BEST SHOW EVER..
