Why/How you chose your Username

This amazing story begins 21 years ago.

My mother, very pregnant, and my Dad were looking for a good name to give a girl. In the end they agreed on Kristine, because it's nicely international.

And who am I to secondguess my parents well-thought out name choice?

So mine is simple...Its never changed the whole *counts on fingers* 7 years and 6 months or so that i've been on BB. I chose my name because well I love Angel, and I thought Angels baby was a pretty combination plus lets face it who wouldn't want to be Angel's baby 😉 and then 101 because well I dunno why exactly so yeah simple. Angels baby101 this was the first place i used the user name and now if you see that name anywhere but BB i'd say 9 times outta ten its me lol I use it everywhere

 

[Joan the Vampire Slayer]

Well, Wishing Oceans already explained why I chose mine...but yeah, it's in dedication to my all-time BtVS episode, "Tabula Rasa".

My name on all Whedonverse-related sites/forums is either Joan or Joan the Vampire Slayer, by the way - that way, people can recognize me on other sites easily.

Randiann.... Randi + Ann. Ann's not my middle name, oddly enough. I was given that nickname when I was about 13 and it's stuck. So I use it as my name on here too. Very creative.


And Kristine's real name is not that. It's Cangel/ SS. That's what her parents really named her at birth.

Although, I think it means something not so nice in Swedish...I'll leave that to TK to clarify as it was him who told me, I think 😉

It doesn't mean anything in swedish. I made a stretch since flanen (from the world flane) can be said about someone. And it means weirdo or goofball or something like that. And with that said when I read Flannens name I always read it as flanen. Not sure why but I never think about what it really means. It just has an easier ring to it.

It's also slang for nothing in German. Which usually makes me chuckle every time I see Nixy's username. I'm sorry, Nixy 😛

And as the boards resident Latin lover (by which, of course, I mean "adorer of the ancient Romans' language", not "Enrique Iglesias wannabe" 😀 ) I'd be much amiss if I didn't add that Nix also means "snow" in Latin. :graduate:

It's easier to get my name if you're Swedish or speak Swedish.

I'm a girl(flickan=the girl) born in November(Skytt=Sagittarious) 1988.

I wanted a uinque username and I gave to some thought, and I thought Skytteflickan sounded good enough. It took a while befiore I added the 88, but I wanted to add even more uniqueness.

When I first joined here, I was BASBritt, which was a combination of Buffy's initials and my nickname from my friends. But after I'd been here a while I was rewatching "Selfless" and decided I wanted to be "HisMrs" because I love Anya's song and how sweet it is about Xander. 🙂

Like many in this thread, my username holds no great mysteries.
When I first registered here, I wanted to use "The Master", but it was already taken. So I switched "The" to "Old" (because...well...I'm old), and voila.

A few weeks later I left the BB for some strange reason I no longer remember, and I requested my account be deleted. But the addiction to this place had taken hold, and after three months away from here, I ended up re-registering with my old name and added a "2.0" to it to denote my second incarnation. 😛

"3.0" denotes the third version of "Old Master" after my ascension to Mod and later SuperMod status. :: tu :: 😛

I wasn't in the mood for being creative when I joined here. It's a planet from Firefly. 😛

I've had the same nickname since I was 11 that I used as an online username for a forum and IRC, and my online friends from back then still use it. I'll use the nick for social networking stuff aswell, but I don't really go on any of that stuff anymore. Since I moved away from home 4 years ago, the nickname has sort of gone away since no one in real life uses it but it's still my online name for most stuff.

I used to be Angel's Avenger...its a name Spike suggested in Angel once except it was Angel's Avengers.

Anya was taken so was Anyanka. So I stuck 2010 at the end of Anya and Anya being my favourite character.

I took so long to decide on a username for BB it's almost a little ridiculous. I just kept staring at the register form with everything but the username filled out, drawing a total blank! As it were, I decided that something to show off my love for Buffy/Angel would be the best route, and finally came up with Angelic (from Angel's name) and Slayer (to represent Buffy).

I thought I was being so creative until I tried to register and found out that someone else from "way back when" already had the username 😛 So for a while I was actually using angelic_slayer, and then when I had the chance to change it I decided that I was too attached to it to give it up 🙂
