Good Things in 2016: Brexit, Theresa May, Tsai Ing-wen.
Neutral Thing in 2016: Donald Trump.
Bad Thing in 2016: My hometown is still under the tyranny from the international terrorist organization called China.
Well if you think she's so great you can have her😀 Suddenly Cameron is starting to look like a much better PM😉
There was a saying at one time about China being called the sleeping giant, that should only be awakened at great peril. Give the devil his due, Trump awoke the sleeping giant here in the U S, the middle class White voters, the people who politicians have been literally ignoring for decades. Clinton, the entire Democratic Party, and more than a few Republicans, thought that Trump was nothing but a joke
He may be a disaster as president, but, just to imagine all those people eating crow now....
I doubt that Trump had much to do with it personally. It really wasn't that hard to use the media in the way he did anyway. I agree with you about why many of the people voted Trump (though if the US had a proper voting system the result would have been different anyway), but I think there are other reasons why the election went the way it did. For one some of the people who voted for Trump are probably just as racist or sexist as him. Another reason is because of the sexist media covenge that Clinton got compared to Trump. Not to mention the timing of the second FBI investigation would have made a difference.
And Hillary is 69. Age isn't really an issue. And Trump has been a CEO a whole lot longer than Hillary has been a Senator or Secretary of State.
No, the crazy thing is, it wasn't so much the people who voted FOR Trump, as it was the people who voted AGAINST Hillary that decided the election. Trump won because more people voted against his opponent than voted against him.
He has a point, if you consider the fact that America sends more money out of the country than it brings in, and American companies are moving to Mexico because they can manufacture their products there with less regulation, lower wages, and little or no employee benefits.
As for how many countries will be wanting to close American military bases, they might want to look at the amount of money those bases bring into their country, plus the security that quite a few of then enjoy primarily because of our military presence. Closing those bases might not be in their best interest.
But the difference is that being a CEO in no way qualifies you to run for the White House and I'm not sure you can even say he was a good CEO. At least the positions held by Hillary were political.
