I was reading that the vampire in season 4 premiere; Sunday was a fan favorite. Why?? I loved her too but she was just a typical vamp.

Cause she was just badass, man. She carried herself way different from any other vampire I've seen. She was completely unfazed by Buffy. She had this confidence about her....I don't know how else to put it really. Lol Let me see...she had "vampire swag"? Lmao 😛

Yep! Vamp swag! <3 it!
Yeah I think it was just because she was sassy and bad ass, like a young (modern) Darla kind of. I think a lot of people responded to that as she also actually seemed to be more of a threat to Buffy than any run of the mill vampire (at least at the start) and had the writers wanted to I'm sure she could have made a great villain throughout the season.

I read that originally they had planned for Sunday to be a vampire slayer turned Vampire?

You know what - that would have been a far more interesting plotline then Adam! They could have utilised him too... for like an episode, but Sunday as a vampire slayer turned vampire would have been... wow, that had potential and real emotional effect on Buffy.

I hadn't even realised she was a fan favourite, she just irritated me! I could see how she could be cool if she'd had more than an ep but I wasn't a fan!

Ugh, I hated Sunday. There was basically no reason as to why she was so powerful, and I wish they'd at least given some explanation, like the Slayer-turned-vampire thing.

Exactly
Fan favourite? Sunday was pointless. All she did was pick on Buffy's clothing style. In the end, she was dust.

She didn't seem very special to me, just another annyoing vamp, only this one really loved herself! lol I think it would have been better and more interesting if she was a previous Vampire Slayer too 🙂

I know..that would of been totally brilliant! Much better than the initiative and boring Adam. I'd imagine the strength of a "Slayer" Vampire... 😱😱😱 Jinkies!

Of course it would have to come at the price of Faith...

What defines a fan favourite? I know some like her but personally I couldn't care that much. If she's stayed longer perhaps. Now she was just a bully that died. The story of a vampire slayer turned vamp is a very intresting one. No matter if it had been Sunday or someone else.

She's not really a favorite of mine. She's just another bitchy vampire that gets staked by Buffy. Meh.

When was it stated that she was "so powerful"? She beat Buffy in the first fight because she psyched her out and had better moves than her. Was the vamp that stabbed her with her own stake in Fool for Love super powerful? No, he just got the best of her.

I liked Sunday...mainly because of her taste in clothes haha.

I haven't rewatched "The Freshman" since I remember how annoyed I was by Sunday, so I'm going by pure memory here... But the vamp in FFL was a totally different story--Buffy was clearly more powerful than him; he just got a lucky shot in. Buffy was comprehensively beaten by Sunday, completely thrashed in that first fight. (I admit, I do have to rewatch the episode, but that's what I remember anyway.)

Well...I think it had to do with the fact that there was a group of vamps and Sunday trashed on her outfit haha. She just looked out of it, like the comment lowered her self esteem a little and she just wasn't prepared. Also, Sunday seemed like a vampire that might have already known how to fight as a human. Human Sunday would definitely kick Buffy in Helpless' ass...because she was just a better fighter. That's my theory. To be fair, I haven't seen that episode in a while either 😉.

I don't really think she's that of a fan favorite. I hear many people who say how annoying she is, and I think so too. She's too "I'm better than you. And you. And you. And oh, yeah, and you!" you know...?

She was the kind of person you go out of your way to pull pranks on, simply for the greater good :-)
