Will Buffy Have a Season 8 Romance? (possible spoilers if you haven't read # 1)

I finally got issue # 1.

So...Buffy's missing the sex...

I was looking at those feet. I was guessing Willow, because everybody says flying, but it doesn't have to be flying you know. Somebody could be rappelling in off a helicopter...Riley Finn perhaps?

I'm not convinced Angel and Spike are out of the picture.

Xander? No thanks.

Is there a possibility of someone new? I don't think so. I think Joss learned his lesson with The Immortal.

but if it's Riley, where's Sam? where does she fit in?
and isn't there something about Buffy being woken by the kiss of 'true love'? why is everyone guessing romance? true love isn't always a romantic thing. the kiss could be from Dawn, her sister. or Xander, her best friend.

I'm actually ready for Xander and Buffy to hook up, she needs a human. I found the quote from season 2 I was talking about ages ago.

with him? (Willow looks sadly up at him) She's got 2 jobs -- Denny's

Willow: (sees Buffy come in) Xander...

Xander: And she cries?

I don't think it'll be Xander. I hope not, coz it would be kinda stupid. They're good friends, they're like brother and sister. And Xander is not in love with Buffy anymore. It's not gonna happen.

Hope it's not Reilly, really hope its not Xander (have to admit i'm surprised at the amount of people who would be happy to see Bander develop, each to their own) for me, xander and buffy seem too much like brother and sister so it would just be very weird and hard to accept.
I thought the flying boots might be willow but then thoguht that if they were, then surely she'd appear back at the castle. Personally, i hope they are Spike's feet - and yes, i am aware that this is probably a forlorn hope...

I doubt it would be Xander. She was on the communicator thing with him while he was back as command central. So I think it's definitely not him. I doubt it's Angel or Spike too because, hello it was day still, and they're vampires.

The feet don't necessarily have to represent Buffy's possible season 8 romance. Buffy's perfectly capable of having a romance with someone earthbound. 😉

I'm going to be a contrarian here--Great Muppety Odin no, please no more romances for a while. Much as Buffy desires "that sex", I've always found the constant need to give Buffy a BF every season an irritation. Not that I have anything against the grand romance of Angel, the dark and obsessive love stylings of Spike, or even the sweet-natured affection of Riley. It is just that the "travails of Buffy's love life" as a dramatic plot point bores the heck out of me. I thought it great that she and Wood didn't hook up after all in the last season.

On the other hand, Xander should totally have sweet sweet office trystin' with Renee. 😀

maybe she'll have a boyfriend - that she can have lots of muppity sex with - who won't be in the comic a lot, thus the romance won't be a big plot point (as that would seem a bit silly in an action/adventure comic) but would still fulfil the romance element which, let's face it, a lot of fans love. That would also suit our two boys who will only be appearing a little bit in the Buffy comic but which one? well the one she can have sex with of course!

I kind of wish they would have a pet dragon. I don't really care if it's Spike or Angel, I would just like to see one of them in the comic.
