Will you be watching the London Olympics 2012?

There's this thing Royal Mail have started of painting a postbox gold in the home town of each British gold medal winner- I went for a walk at lunchtime today and saw the mother of boxer Nicola Adams having her picture taken by the newly-painted postbox. Tomorrow I plan to go and take a picture of the other one in Leeds for the triathlete Alistair Brownlee- that's four medal winners in our city alone in total.

I'm also planning to go to the welcome home parade for silver medal cyclist Lizzie Armitstead next Wednesday.
 
So happy the female Canadian soccer team won the Bronze medal! They hadn't won any medal since like 1920 or something like it.

Too bad Roseline and Meaghan didn't win anything yesterday in the diving final competition 🙁
 
Is Anyone else watching the closing ceremony? It's been quite good so far. I've enjoyed the music and seeing the athletes letting their hair down 🙂
 
Watching right now the rewatch. I really like to see the athletes going into the Union Jack pattern 🙂
 
I just watched the Closing Ceremonies and thought they were awesome. The Spice Girl reunion was killer!

Awesome job Britain! And most of all, The USA kicked the crap out of China! YES!
 
I missed 1D apparently 🙁 But the rest was good. The Spice Girls were ok (never liked them) and Muse was great.
 
I didnt think it was as good as the Opening Ceremony. I loved that Take That performed, especially after Gary has only just lost his baby last week! My favorite was Queen, minus Jessie J and Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life.

I preferred the Opening Ceremony myself. But I thought the Closing Ceremony was extremely entertaining to watch...mostly because I had no idea what was going on. LOL!
 
After being at the Leeds athletes' welcome home ceremony this evening I probably will- there's a live site in the middle of the city so I can go down there in my lunch hour and after work.

I will watch some but probably not much. Considering how little I watched of the olympics I'm certain it'll be more.

I've heard that the interest in big in London which make me happy. My younger sister was in paralympics in 2000 and 2004, world record and gold repectively. No medal in Sidney since not enough contenders with her level of handicap. She'll be sure to check so no one beats her record so if I don't watch she'll be sure to keep me up to date.

Did anyone pick up the highlights DVD for the London Olympics? I'm getting it for my Dad for Christmas.

Man, looking back on it, I just love the Olympics 🙂.
