NY State of Mind's thread HERE got me thinking.

Where was Spike in 'The Wish'?

We've always talked about Darla and Luke and even Faith, but what about Spike?

He came to the Hellmouth for the St. Vegeous thing, so without Buffy there to distract him, did he just take off after it was done? Did he find out that Angel was there and try to heal Drusilla and that's how The Master caught Angel?

The floor is yours, tell me your theories. 😀

Yeah, I doubt he'd want to compete with the likes of The Master. Or maybe he would. Angel didn't, that's for sure. Maybe he did come for the ritual and it pissed off The Master and the guy got dusted. 😛 I'd probably guess they'd think of Sunnydale as no more as a tourist stop for them to maybe do the ritual then get out; the place was already claimed.

Now that I think about it, where was Darla?

Whoa! Actually yeah, that's how it would have went. He used Angel to heal Darla, which left Angel weak.

Since Spike doesn't like authority like The Master, he would have went away with Drusilla to some foreign country and then do what they always do. I think Luke would have been killed by Angel. Darla, seeing how pathetic Angel would be, would probably go with Spike and Drusilla like old times.

I think Faith was drank by a vampire. Or maybe it was just a girl with similar looks.

The popular theory goes that, after they were turned, Willow and Xander took care of Darla and Luke, taking their places in The Master's court. Of course, that's just a theory, there's no proof, but considering that Willow and Xander are in the places that were previous occupied by Darla and Luke, it's not a hard conclusion to step to.

So, considering The Master would have risen during The Harvest, as was the original plan, word would have gotten out pretty quickly that he had taken over Sunnydale. Spike and Drusilla are direct descendants of The Master, so would they want to take their rightful place in his court? Or would The Master have found them weak? They're hardly Darla and Angelus, it wouldn't surprise me if The Master wanted nothing to do with them, or had them killed for being so worthless in his eyes.

Actually, that's something I would have liked to have seen, Vamp!Xander against Spike, lol.

Maybe Spike wouldn't have wanted to deal with The Master at all, and just kept Drusilla away for the sake of her safety. And his own, I guess.

I'm thinking that since the Slayer wasn't in Sunnydale, he had no reason to go there. He wanted to go there to kill Buffy. Maybe Spike was in Cleveland.

I never saw Spike as the stick-around-forever type of dude. I would have thought he would have come to Sunnydale in passing, and then got bored and left after a little while.

Thats exactly what I've always thought, he would have stayed for a bit then moved onto some new place.

It's been a while since I watched 'School Hard', but did Spike come specifically for the Slayer or the Hellmouth and the St. Vigeous thing? I can't remember.

And if he DID come for the Slayer, and ended up in Cleveland instead, I'm guessing that tough-as-nails Buffy wouldn't have suffered him lightly and dusted his ass as soon as she could, lol.

Spike never really specifies exactly why he comes to Sunnydale, but he vaguely mentions he went there to heal Drusilla of her weakness after the mob in Prague. I forget what episode it was, but he mentions that he wants to use Hellmouth's power to heal her. Then when they send Dalton to get the books they need, they realize they need Angel to perform the ritual.

Hmm...if the Master came to power, I'd wonder if Spike would even bring Drusilla there. I imagine that the Master wouldn't appreciate how rebellious Spike was and how human him and Dru lived (I imagine he would have an opinion of Spike and Dru similar to that if the Judge). They wouldn't exactly be subordinates the way VampWillow/VampXander/Darla were. I would imagine Spike and Drusilla would stay away from the Master's territory.

I always thought that Spike went to Sunnydale to try and cure Drusilla - finding the Slayer there was just a bonus. So... he probably arrived in Sunnydale and left immediately due to the Master's presence, or stayed for a bit to try and find the cure before leaving when he got bored.

Also, would Faith even exist in this timeline? If Buffy was never in Sunnydale, the Master never would have killed her and the Slayer line would never have been split.

Perhaps Wishverse Buffy's death only just triggered Kendra's activation as the Slayer.

Now I really want to read some Wishverse fic...
