Its been nearly twenty years since a none-European side won a World Cup. I guess when it came down to it Brazil just weren't able to give that big match performance they needed to get past Belgium. Belgium have been excellent and have really surprised me. They still have a tough test in France next time out, but they know this could be their best chance to win a major trophy.

Ahhhhhh! What a victory. Three Lions on a shirt. Good professional display from Sweden just didn't have the quality to deal with the Winners in waiting.
Oh well, without a lucky break to get the first goal so we can survive on a good defense, Sweden doesn't have much to show for. lol
On bright side. I think the semifinals will be a lot more watchable now when they might even talk about the teams actually playing instead of praising the Swedish team.
I root for England to take the cup now. Think that would be fun. Even though I still believe France will actually take it.

It was just sod's law in our office - our iplayer stream cut out in the 93rd minute! We all scarmbled for our smartphones but the cheers outside told us the match was over. At least we caught most of the match though.

Fantastic! Really great team performances and we managed the two goal lead extremely well. It was a really professional performance from England. No matter what happens now its been a very good World Cup for us. Still much to do, but this might be our best chance to win it for sometime.

To be clear, I have no problem with England (which people assume), just its unavoidable media, outside of movies and TV - I like English humour a lot. I also spent a lot of time in Manchester as a child, and Liverpudlians are a lot like Glaswegians. Yeez are awrite, aye.
