Would you go into space when flights are available?

As you may know, SpaceX and Virgin Galactic will (allegedly) be offering civilian space flights to the International Space Station; and in the distant future, possibly the Moon...or Mars. If you could afford it, would you actually go?

Just remember...in space, no one can hear you scream.

I thought about it long and hard but eventually I couldn't let it passed, are you nuts, guess what I thought? Sod the question, no I won't go but what I will do is get the contract to develop all photographs taken. I'm gonna be rich!

Going up to the space station or moon is one thing. I would definitely consider it.

Untethering from earth to go into deeper space - or even mars is a whole different business, IMO. Without near light speed travel and a much more robust space travel infrastructure, the answer would be no.

The isolation, more than the danger, would get me.

Closer in, I would do anything that was as safe as the space shuttle - preferably a little safer, since we did lose two. Driving down the road or flying has risk. Yet we do it. Hell, riding a horse is potentially life-threatening! So considering that... Looking down on earth from the shuttle or moon has definite appeal.

Im not too keen on the idea. Would rather spend the money on horses. Or skydiving.

Plus, I get motion sick.

When I was a kid I was convinced that by the year 2000 we would be living on the Moon, & probably Mars too.....Yet here we are nearly 2 decades past that milestone & we still have yet to get back to the moon after out little nose around last century...…...So I doubt we will be colonising the moon in my lifetime at this rate...…..

As for paying vast sums of money to just go up & fly around in space weightless for a while...….Nah, these days I can get the same feeling of light-headedness from just standing up too fast...….Maybe in the next life?

I'm glad mankind hasn't ventured into space to much. Considering how he has ruined earth and that he/she inflicts such horrors on each other, the thought of meeting an alien race is abhorrent, unless the alien race has the sense to see mankind for what it is and limits us to suffer on what is left of this planet.
And if you would pay to go into space have a look at the several thousand bits of junk that circumnavigate this planet continuously, it is a bit off putting.
