I voted no, primarily because I'm plain bored of ensouled vampires. Angel was interesting when he was one-of-a-kind, Darla's storyline was good because it put a unique twist on it, Spike to me didn't add anything new and just bored/annoyed me in S7.

I voted no because I adore the character of Dru the way she is. And just like the White Avenger said - I don't think it would have made much difference, being quite the loony.

I have to agree with WA on the subject of shes already outhouse-rat insane as it is and adding a soul wouldn't change that very much. The only interesting thing would be if she viewed her soul as a split personality and argued with it sometimes. That might be kinda fun.

Heck, a soul would just make her crazier and seeing as I didn't think that was possible, then... hell yhea!

that'd be interesting because Dru with a soul would still be Dru insane. i mean angel drove her mad before he turned her (therefore she still had a soul when she went crazy 😛).

Dru's always been one of my fav characters and I wish BTVS had taken a bit more time to explore her as a character/her past etc.

I agree. Dru deserved to be more than just an adjunct to Spike, to Angel or to Darla depending on circumstances. We should have seen her standing on her own more.
I vote No I love Dru just the way she is and since all of the other vamps including Darla when she was pregnant had a soul I liked her not having one.

I wouldn't have wanted to see her with a soul. She was crazy and it was that about her character which i loved but with a soul i just don't think her crazyness would have the same effect.

Wouldn't she be almost like the crazybasement!Spike of S7? 😛 That's one of my favorite Spikes though 😀

Anyway, the answer is no. Anytime I hear 'vampire with a soul', I always think of Angel. They pushed the envelope, so to speak, by having Spike get one too, and I think another ensouled vamp would just ruin it, lol.

I think Drusilla with a soul would be an awesome story arc, better yet if there were a televised Angel Season Six they should have Drusilla return with a soul and Spike helping her find her way in the world.

I would have, only because of curiosity. It wouldn't make much sense in regards to the shows (and be overkill, i think). But i think it'd also be incredibly sad. I think between her being driven insane on TOP of everything she's ever done as a vamp, she might kill herself. I don't think she'd be able to handle it all.

Unlike quite a few here, I really like the vampire gaining their souls for redemption story arcs but the Drusilla is actually the only one I DO NOT want to see regain her soul. Angel tortured her and not just physically. Her killed her family, told her she was evil and just drove her insane and waited for her to become a nun before making her eternal. Drusilla is too far gone for a soul to have any 'good' effect on her, IMHO, a soul would drive Drusilla off the deep end. She would ultimately go on a killing spree before killing herself or finally being killed by a slayer or Angel or most likely Spike. It would make a for a great last run for her character but TBH, I'd rather her just be out there doing evil without a soul and never return to the series.

I couldn't see her going on a killing spree if her soul was restored. I think she'd take her own life out of the grief of reliving all the bad things she's done. The pain would be too much to bear. Why would she kill if she felt bad about her actions?

She wouldn't feel bad about her actions is my point. She is certifiably insane. Gaining her soul would just cloud her mind with more thoughts of pain and she would just want the world to bleed.

I disagree about her not feeling bad about her actions. I don't think her being insain would be enough to lead her to kill herself, her actions along with the insanity would in my mind if you get my point.

The very definition of insanity is the inability to think about the consequences of her actions. Drusilla wouldn't care about what she's done and even if she does, not in the 'I want to redeem myself way', it would be the 'I want to make the world pay for what it did to me way'.

But even if she did feel the weight of her actions, it would only drive her further into the psychosis. She wouldn't be able to recover from it. One way or the other, a soul would only end Drusilla.

I agree on the last part, it would destroy her.
