Technically we have already seen her with a Soul (before Angelus sired her) but If they had her Soul returned I would like to see that

I love Dru! I would've liked to have seen her re-ensouled briefly, like in an AltUniverse, so not permanently. Still, it would've been interesting.

You honestly believe that they had a choice? Darla lay sick, Liam & William were seduced by hot women, and I think none of them choose to become murderers. They had no idea what was waiting for them, and that's why they didn't fight it.

I know we didn't get to see much of how they were as humans, but what kind of Hannibal-wanna be's would choose being a coldblooded murderer? I think it's fair to assume that they had no idea what they were about to become, so comparing their situation to Drusilla's that way isn't fair.

Not that you don't have the right to believe what you believe, sorry if I came across as rude.

Yes, both Angel & Spike said that they did not have a choice (in ATS s5 "Damage").

I think she is great as she is
Also after seeing spike getting his soul he's become too soft and mental.
Its making to show confusing to be honest
I thought at the end of season six he wanted the chip removed not his soul returned

I thought that too the first time I saw it. The writers did that on purpose.

I vote No I love Dru just the way she is and since all of the other vamps including Darla when she was pregnant had a soul I liked her not having one.

Darla didn't have a soul when she was pregnant (season 3).

Darla didn't much like having a soul; I'd imagine it would be the same for Dru. It makes me think then in contrast how remarkable both Angel & Spike were: Angel for dealing with it (the guilt, remorse, etc) & choosing to fight on the side of good rather than just staking himself (yes, it took him quite awhile to get to that place), & Spike for choosing a soul.

Darla had Connor's soul that she was sharing because he had one, so technically, she had a soul, but it was borrowed.
As much as I would have been curious to see that, I don't really want to. There are many thing that I'm curous about but wouldn't want to know and see. Example (sorry, a little off topic), I'm very curious about aliens from other planets and knowing how they are and what they want. But I wouldn't want to reach to the day where they expose themselves to us. It seems too scary, and I just don't wanna be there when it happens.

Darla didn't have a soul when she was pregnant (season 3).

Darla didn't much like having a soul;

Darla didn't have a soul of her own, but when she was pregnant, as the baby grew and developed, there was a soul WITHIN HER. She believed that that was why she was able to love it in the end, and why she was afraid that, once that soul left her, she would go back to being the evil, uncaring monster that she had been for centuries. She was especially afraid that she might kill baby Connor out of some sort of revenge. That's why she killed herself before the baby was actually born.

Drusilla re-ensouled would have been very scary. Imagine her as crazy as she is, with a whole load of guilt and confusion dumped on her. I imagine she would go completely insane, and end up staking or torturing herself. So I don't think it would have made for a very interesting storyline.

Yes, I know, but I didn't think the previous poster was referring to that (although I could be wrong).

I love crazy Drusilla.

I would hope that anyone who tries to give her a soul, gets her psych meds, takes her to a therapist, or commits her to a mental hospital would be shot, staked, or sent to another dimension.

Would Drusilla with a soul say:

Run and catch.
Run and catch.
The lamb is caught in the blackberry patch.

I don't think she would. Please leave my crazy Drusilla alone. 🙂

I was very torn between yes and no. Drusilla as a vampire was very very evil. Darla and Spike had some sparks of humanity (Yes, I did just compliment Spike, sh.) where as her and Angelus had no sparks of humanity. I think it would've been very interesting to see her soul returned for an arc, or maybe just for a few episodes, maybe Willow could do a spell or something. That could be interesting, but as it is, I don't think it would've worked as a long-time thing, her having a soul.

Don't worry. I occasionally say something good about Angel. After the first three or four times, it doesn't even hurt anymore.
I adore crazy Dru. I don't want her changed! I didn't even like it when she changed her style in Angel s2/Buffy s5. I liked the old timey dresses and such.

Ha - that's funny. I kinda saw her as still having some humanity...?

When she's torturing Angel (what's my line) and mentions her family he killed, she sounds sad about losing them. Also, the judge could smell humanity on both her and Spike. She's so crazy, though, and already sees so much that I think a soul would torture her too much; I think: crazy Dru + soul (think how crazy it made Spike) = unbearable.

I really don't think Dru would go back to be sane if she were to have her soul back, if that's what some of you are saying. She got insane because Angel turtured her, not because she was turned into a vampire, not because she lost her soul.

I agree. I think a souled Dru could either be really really REALLY lame or really scary. Because either she gets more insane because she realizes everything she's done and becomes a super whiney insane person or she completely flips because she realizes everything she's done and tries to rationalize it and becomes more insane through that and starts doing evil to do good. Like rationalizing killing people in an insane twisted way that only a truly insane person would understand.

Re-reading that, I'm not sure if it makes sense... but whatever...

I always felt quite sorry for Dru, she wanted to be good, and she was good, but Angel drove her insane. To give her a soul either would make no difference, she's too far gone, or it'd be just too cruel.

Not sure that the character had enough depth to warrant the "soul" treatment with Angel and Spike having that story. It would seem redundant to me. Now a story that centered on Drusilla before she was sired her torment at the hands of Angelus, and Angel having to relieve that experience from the triad of all three characters I would find interesting.

A story along the lines of "what might have been" the path that Drusilla's life would have taken - something along the lines of a reverse of Scrooge with Angel being taken to see what he destroyed might also serve as a way to explore Drusilla with a soul.

The history of vampire's getting their souls back in the series pretty much would have Dru so damaged mentally with her soul only adding to all the damage.
