would you watch "spike the vampire slayer"?

Would I watch a Spike spinoff? Maybe. It would depend on what exactly Spike would be doing, where he would be doing it, and whom he would be doing it with.

I don't think I'd watch it if it was just Angel but with Marsters in the lead role. If they came up with something new and interesting for him to do then sure, otherwise the show just becomes Angel2.0... been there, done that, got the T-shirt (okay, I don't actually have the T-shirt, but many other fans do). It would have to be something new and befitting Spike's personality. Something involving revenge perhaps? Maybe Dru could be involved?

A change in location might also help sway me to the show. I'm getting a little tired of seeing demons traipsing about sunny California. Maybe a visit to the Cleveland Hellmouth? A trip for Spike back to the seedier sections of merry old England? I'd kind of like to see someplace else. After eight years of the Whedonverse hanging it's hat in Cali, it's just starting to make the State look like a good place for the suicidal to move to (I mean seriously, why does every apocalypse start in California?).

It would also certainly depend on who's in the supporting cast. I'm not sure if Spike is a strong enough character to carry a show on his own. The character generally lacks direction. I could see a Faith show being a one character thing, or perhaps even a Lorne spinoff going in that direction. I don't think the other characters, from either BtVS or AtS have the ability to do so. Most either don't seem to appeal enough to fans to carry their own shows, or the characters simply don't have enough of an independant nature to be on their own. I think a Spike spinoff, like BtVS and AtS, would have to have an ensemble cast.

Any Spike spinoff ideas you'd like to throw out?
 
i would have him in new york maybe not in la cause then it would be angel! but id love to see him in new york where its crowded and people are tough there

We've already done the whole Vampire with a Soul Show and people are talking of a Faith, spin-off, but again, we've already done a Vampire Slayer Show...
I say Willow spin-off! Magic is something that needs to be explored in the head of Joss!
But the main reason for me saying no to a Spike spin-off would be is that I really dont like how his character has changed, he's gotten really boring, I liked him in Season 4!
 
How could I say it in a nice way??No,nein,nie,never...

I guess I could watch one or two eps with DB guest starring but that'd be it...
 
lol in the perfect spinoff db would never be there! hehehe jk but seriously db could guest star occasionally
 
Off course I would. I mean, there's plenty of better spin-offs they could make. But I'd rather have one then none. And it's still a Joss-thing!

yea i agree cuz spike became a good guy an all with his soul and stuff........ though he still has that attitude, probably the same with faith except shes more "goody 2 shoes". I'd watch a willow spinoff.

I agree with Lee, Willow-Spinoff should be explored 😀
But if there was indeed a Spike Spin-off then I guess I would watch it, I mean he'd sure to have some guest stars (Old Scoobies and such) so it could be intresting. And since it would be a Spin-Off based on BtVs and Angel then ofcourse I would watch, I would just much rather have a Willow Spin-Off ::drool::
 
I would also watch a Spike spinoff, to get my regular dosis of James ::heart::

If i was in charge, i would make a spinoff with spike, angelus, dru and darla, back in the old days, like a prequal. No souls, no chips, just evil...
 
Yes, I'd watch if it was original enough to stand out on it's own but I highly doubt that they could come up with a concept that would be. Really liek most of you have said it's been done the whole 'vampire with a soul' so they would have little left to go on.
 
I'd probably watch, but the show would have to be different to Angel. No detective agency, no saving the helpless, no trying to atone. Been there, done that. I don't really know how a Spike spin off would work, really.

Also, I'd only watch if Joss was involved, and a few of the existing Buffy/Angel writers. If it was a new creator and writers, there's no way I'd watch! The show is funny/lovable etc because of the writers. The actors add to that, but if the base is rubbish (As most TV is), there's no way it'll work.

Willow spin off has a lot of posibilities...
 
i'd watch it just aslong as it wasnt Spike the Vampire Slayer...but if he did a spin off id def watch it.
 
Do you honestly even have to ask!lol Of course I would watch it, maybe a different title, but really any title could get me to watch it as long as James was the lead!

yea..... this i'd probably watch... but hmmm what would the things b mainly about, them running away from holtz n the slayers? or them going around having massacres...
 
Spike. Needs. A. Spin-off. That's all there is to it. I would watch Spike: The Vampire to the ends of the Earth and beyond, into the hell with Nixon and Britney Spears ::love::
 
I adore Marsters as an actor. He is great an deserves to get more exposure and play other complex characters. He's spent a large chunk of his career playing Spike. No offence, but Marsters isn't exactly young and I'm don't think he can keep playing an ageless vampire forever. He shouldn't have to do so. I want to see Marster in other roles. So, no I don't think I would watch a Spike spin-off if I had to choose between it and other edgy lead parts for Marsters.
 
hells yes ::tongue:: dedicated i would be ::rolf:: i voted yes, before i seen the question for the poll, "would you watch spike the vampire slayer?" ummmm, i would, but i'd rather another sort of spin off show with spike.
there has been lots of talk of this on the boards of spike, wes, harm spin off, what do you all really think? gonna happen? 😎
