The more I read about this, the more I like. The story sounds cool. Just hope they can maintain quality of the intimate character scenes and relationships...

"Bryan did a brilliant job of interpreting what existed in the comics, taking all that information and really doing a great visual interpretation of the movie. If you give the same comic to 10 different directors, you'll get 10 different movies. But going through the other two movies, I really understood why he made certain decisions, and they made a lot of sense. I think I would have made different decisions. But because these two movies pre-existed and I love them and I'm a fan of them, I was able to follow the tone of the first two movies, which helped me decide on the type of movie that X3 was going to be...."

"...What I didn't change was the plot. The plot of this movie, in my opinion "” the concepts of ''The Cure'' and the Dark Phoenix "” is brilliant. What I changed were set pieces, the location of where the third act would take place, for example. Every day we were working on making the script better and when I say ''script,'' I mean the relationships among the characters and the placement of the scenes because I'm very much into transitions. When you make a film, you're not just shooting like 50 little movies. Every scene has to connect with the next. It was a much bigger canvas because it was a much more emotional story. The story "” whether you're an X-Men fan or not "” is very relatable. ''The Cure'' is a very strong issue. "

Here's something X men 3 related, and mildly interesting I think.

They're filming an X3 reshoot up in Vancouver Canada. They call it Hollywood North. 🙂

There's a message board devoted to stuff happening up in Hollywood North, and the fans follow the shoots around watching the action. There's some interesting scoop on X men 3. For example did you know one of the actors is dating Michelle Trachtenberg, and she goes down to the set to see him.

The thread is here if you want to check it out -

Here's another on the original shoot -

It's a fun site to snoop around on, because so much Genre is being filmed up in Canada - Smallville, Supernatural, Battlestar Galactica, the Stargates.

Ratner To Direct 'Wolverine' Film?

Hollywood film-maker Brett Ratner is reportedly close to signing a deal to direct the X-Men spin-off Wolverine, after impressing producers with his work on upcoming second sequel X-Men: The Last Stand. The Rush Hour director is keen for Hugh Jackman to reprise his brooding superhero for the project, and Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels actor Vinnie Jones is also in contention to repeat his forthcoming Juggernaut role. Jones tells MTV, "(Brett) was saying that they'll probably use a lot of the characters. Hopefully (the Wolverine/Juggernaut rivalry) will come into it."

In the movies, Magneto has most of my sympathies.... crush the pathetic little humans... Muahahahaha!!!

(PS: Time for my medicine.)

ian mckelen is cool 🙂 a great actor 🙂 i like magnito hummm come to think about it i cant think of an x men that i dont like.... oh bar not liking cyclops on the prinsable of being a wolverine fan lol 🙂 he has cool powers though

I think the theoretical Magneto movie sounds potentially cool. Magneto: The Early Years, or whatever it's gonna be. Maybe Cap could make a cameo, if part of it's during the War (I can dream...).

They'd need some gifted young actors for a young Magneto and a young Xavier.

im sure whathappendtogoodtv was meaning a wolverine film.... dont think theyd put a younge magnito or xavier in it...due to them not being relevent in wolverines past...more like sabertooth and wolvs wife or gf ??? man need to read the comic books again.....
oh does anyone miss the x men cartoon series ?

The Magneto film sounds kind of odd but intriguing. If it had sort of an understated Batman Begins feel, could be good. It would be the first period piece Marvel movie, I guess. No idea what the current status is.

Sreenwriter Sheldon "The Longest Yard" Turner will pen 20th Century Fox "MAGNETO", a superhero action-thriller based on the Marvel Comics villain characterized in the first two "X-Men" films. Magneto marks the second extension of Fox' "X-Men" comic book franchise, following a deal with David "Troy" Benioff to write the Hugh Jackman spin-off "Wolverine". The studio is developing both projects while prepping "X-Men 3", with a screenplay by Simon Kinberg. Magneto will be produced by "X-Men" duo Lauren Shuler Donner and Marvel Studios' Avi Arad. Focus of the film will be set during World War II, revolving around the character's early years. "I pitched a film that is almost 'The Pianist' meets 'X-Men'", said Turner. The storyline will also include the character of 'Professor X', as a soldier in the allied forces.

The X-Men cartoon was okay, but if you read the comics, it was kinda pointless. They mostly just did bastardizations of stories from the comics. I like it better when cartoons based on comics use the characters as starting points, and then come up with their own stories, a la Superman/Batman/Justice League

iv got afew x men comics.... unfortunatly had a glue insodent in art with them.... there readable.... but not in mint now.... 🙁
