I choose Xanya because they are one of my favorite couples and I like Xander better as a brother figure instead of a boyfriend for Dawn.:smile3:

Well, I'm... Adjusting... To Dander, but I think that they have more of a Brother/Sister dynamic. I think about how he used to babysit her. How he was "in love" with her much older sister for a long time. How he would play with her to make her feel better with the help of his beloved, Anya. Them dating? Seems pretty wrong to me. But whatever, I'm getting over it. 🙂

Xanya. 🙂 I do like Dander, though. (Hey, lookit me, I'm using the short names for the 'ships non-sarcastically.)

Dander totally, I dunno I just never really completely liked him and Anya together..Maybe I just didn't completely 100 percent like Anya so much who knows, I just think Dawn and Xander have a connection that can't be denied and its not brotherly and sisterly either. I mean they understand each other, and they trust one another, I mean they formed a friendship that blossomed into something more but Dawn has always had a crush on Xander and Xander has always felt love for Dawn in some way or another so I think he's probably one of the best guys for her because he's not going to be an a** to her like some guys might be. I dunno either way I just really like Dander better.

Have you forgotten Xander used to baby sit Dawn as a little kid? It's just wrong.
Dander is one of the only 'ships I find utterly understandable & natural. Of course they would end up together, the only worry would be that both sides view the relationship in the same way. By that I mean, is Dawn just having Daddy issues & is Xander just taking whatever comfort he can get. I hope not.

Xanya! One of the most hilarious and adorable couples ever.
I see Dawn and Xander more as brother and sister or friends.

Exactly! And I don't think Dander will last very long because it does seem weird and awkward. Also, Xanya is one of my favorite ships so I'm obviously going with them:smile3:

I never really "got" Xanya - I know, I'm probably very unusual in that. Anya was a fun character, but I personally am blind to her erotic appeal (more to do with the character's personality than with Emma Caulfield's looks. I'm not entirely shallow in my choice of the ladies, it seems. (sw))

Dander, however, I don't mind at all. The big bro/little sis dynamic doesn't sit ewwwwy with me at all, I think bro/sis is a very good base of love to build up erotics on above it (as long as it's not biological siblings, of course - it goes without saying that that's where ewww comes in).

Xanya disappointed me because the major issues weren't dealt with properly and that made the couple less interesting. I hope the writers don't do the same with Xander/Dawn, I hope the relationship gets explored and interesting.

I don't think the idea of Dawn and Xander is so far-fetched. A lot of couples start out as friends first and then develop into something more. So he's a little older than Dawn... All of Buffy's boyfriends were older than her, even Riley. And personally, I think both Xander and Dawn are in need of a relationship with someone who can relate to their emotions and what it's like to be part of the Scoobies with no superpowers. Who else can relate to them better than each other?
Besides, as the storyline progresses, Dawn is getting older and she's not a little girl anymore. It's not gross. Now, if we had seen Xander trying to date Dawn in Season 5 or 6 then yeah I can see why people would go "ew".

It's really not the age that's bugging me about them. They're like family to me, I've always seen him like a big brother to her. I would be upset with Xander dating Buffy or Willow, not because I think they would be bad couple, but I have this image of them like one big family. Just like Cangel, I like both Cordy and Angel, and their scenes, but I like them as friends. I think people have this image of characters and they're not likely to change it.

Couldn't agree more with this statement. Even though Dawn and Xander are only like 5 years apart and age doesn't really effect the dating relationship that much, like PB said, it's not really the age it's the brother/sister bond they have together that makes the whole kissy kissy smoochie smoochie thing very weird. Also, I can really tell that the whole Dander thing isn't going to last long, but that's just me.....

But that's my whole point... In the real world there are a lot of people who start off super close and think of each other as brother/sister and then end up dating and being together for very long periods of time. It's only natural that Xander and Dawn would start to think of each other as more than friends as they grew older and spent time together.

Maybe that's the point. People don't see how strange they are, so when someone puts it in front of their eyes they refuse to see it. I think the veiwers try to escape the real world and jump into tv shows where everything is not - normal, or should I sad, perfect?

I'm... not sure what you're trying to say here.
It took me about two minutes to realize Dander was Dawn and Xander. That probably shows how much I don't see them as couple. However, since that's going on in the comics and since I don't read the comics, maybe I'm not a fit judge. I will say I like Anya much more, so therefore I like Anya and Xander much more.
