As that thread is now in the cemetary and we have gotten a lot of new members since (myself included) and maybe some who allready answered who has a different point of view now, I would like to open up a new one with a few additional questions of my own.

1. Why did you join BB?
I wanted to be able to talk to people about my rampant Buffy fandom without the looks I get from my friends. I don't have any friends IRL that are as into Buffy as I am, and it's really great to be able to come to a place like this.

2. Did you look at/join any other Btvs/Ats site first?
Actually, no. I looked at this forum first, and I saw how active it is, and I wanted to join. So I watched how things go around her for a while, and then joined.

3. Your best BB moment?
Winning second place in the icon contest!

4. Your worst BB moment?
I guess it'd be not winning Drogyn prefect, but I'm really not upset about it. I'm happy with out prefect.

5. Your first impression of BB?
A lot of crazy people that are super into Buffy.

6. Your impression of BB now?
A lot of crazy people that are super into Buffy. 😛

7. How has your perception of BB changed since you've joined?
It's really become a home on the web for me. I've made some good friends here, and I'm glad I joined. Plus it's helping me get wayyy better at Photoshop!

8. The first person on BB you remember talking to longer than just answering a question to?
Actually, you when you were still Blixten. You're my adopter. ^^

9. The longest time you've spent on BB in a day?
Oh god. Hours. I can't count how many...

10. Anything else?
Not really. I love this place. You guys let me gush about Willow and put up with it. That's about it. ^^

1. Why did you join BB? I became more familiar with the universe of forums, which I used to have a weird disliking of, and I decided that I was such a Buffy-geek that I needed to find people to talk about it with!

2. Did you look at/join any other Btvs/Ats site first? I only saw french forums, this one is the first english I saw and it looked awesome, and there was a way to discuss every single episode and character and music and everything so I immediately settled for here 😀

3. Your best BB moment? Well, every moment here is a best! :heart:

4. Your worst BB moment?
I'm sometimes uncomfortable with some arguments and when people get banned!

5. Your first impression of BB?
"Heck, that's an active community years later!"
6. Your impression of BB now?
"Damned, talk about active, I don't log in for 10 hours and I have 378 unread posts! 😱"
7. How has your perception of BB changed since you've joined?
I love it every day more, and I understand more how things work, like dorms party and stuffs!

8. The first person on BB you remember talking to longer than just answering a question to?
Oh, I can't really say, but the first names I remembered were TaylorSwift, PrincessBuffy16, Wishing Oceans, White Avenger (who impressed me a lot because of that Buffencyclopedy of his), and a so-called Blixten :tongue3:

9. The longest time you've spent on BB in a day?
When I had the flu, I spent 6-7 hours a day on BB!

Funny thread!

1. Why did you join BB?
I joined BB because I wanted to talk about Buffy without feeling completely crazy...as Willow My Love, I don't have friends who are crazy obsessed as me over this tv show so I wanted to share opinions and thoughts with the fans.

2. Did you look at/join any other Btvs/Ats site first?
I joined a Bangel forum before this but that was it..I think that and this one are the most active BTVS forums out there.

3. Your best BB moment?
When people agree with me ahaha..no, I like when people have different views and we discuss and share theories..those are the best memories one can get. I get bad moments when I think people can misunderstand me and think I'm being rude...ahah.

4. Your worst BB moment?
I don't think I have a worst moment...but I really want Drogyn to win everything so I'll be pissed if it doesn't happen 😀

5. Your first impression of BB?
I finally found people who analyze Buffy as I do and they wanna talk about this show all the time! They're just as crazy as me! Cool!

6. Your impression of BB now?
I joined lots of more stuff like Drogyn and competitions and I'm glad I can do creative stuff..BB made me use photoshop and kinda learn how to use it..advices are the best.

7. How has your perception of BB changed since you've joined?
I'm aware of more threads in it so I live the BB life a lot more than when I first joined...it's a big family even if I'm still getting to know my way around the forum.

8. The first person on BB you remember talking to longer than just answering a question to?
I honestly don't remember...I could cheat and go see my first posts but it wouldn't be fair. If someone remembers talking to me then please just tell me! LOL

9. The longest time you've spent on BB in a day?
Uhm...I have no idea, sorry!

I answered these questions in the old thread, but I had only been here for like two months.


1. Why did you join BB?
I wanted to talk about Buffy somewhere where the people actually cared about the show (not just superficial stuff about it either) and where the people were nice and respectful. I was also looking for a new place to hangout online because the place I spent all my time before was going downhill. What really pushed me over the edge and made me sign up here was the FAQ and rules list. It was so clear and detailed and spelled out. There was a system for making sure the mods didn't abuse their power... It was something that was completely unheard of on the other place I used to hang out on... and when I suggested it, I was looked at as the worst person in the world. The rules list was amazing to me. It still is, there's a reason why this forum runs so well.

2. Did you look at/join any other Btvs/Ats site first?
I went to try to frequent the IMDb board first. Big mistake. The people on there were rude, and mean, and they didn't care about Buffy really. 99% of their topics were OT and the ones that were about Buffy was like "Angel or Spike: who's hotter." So I went searching and found BB.

3. Your best BB moment?
My best BB moment... Oh lord. I've had some amazing times on here... I'm going with winning VH MotM October last year. I joined in August so the month of September was my first full month... and I was voted MOTM. It was truly amazing. I remember reading that newsletter and seeing my name and FREAKING out with excitement. I literally screamed and jumped around the house.

4. Your worst BB moment?
My first week here (may have even been my first day), I got an infraction. My one and only... There was a thread someone posted about their friend burning things... And they wanted help to make their friend stop burning things. And I said something along the lines of "As long as they're not hurting anyone and/or burning important things, I see no problem with it." Except it was a bit more wordy... Well that was deleted but I didn't get the PM that told me it was deleted. So when I went back to the thread, and I didn't see my post... I thought I had gotten posting anxiety and not posted it. So I did it again. I got an infraction of 300 pts for not following staff directions. Every time I go to my user CP it stares me in the face. I feel so bad because I NEVER would have posted that again if I had gotten the first PM like I was supposed to.

5. Your first impression of BB?
"What a well run, well established forum with great people who really enjoy each other and the subject they're here to talk about. Wow, I hope I don't mess up!"

6. Your impression of BB now?
"What a well run, well established forum with great people who really enjoy each other and the subject they're here to talk about. And who will help each other out with anything. And who are there for each other through thick and thin. Wow, I'm lucky to be here!"

7. How has your perception of BB changed since you've joined?
I've gained more respect for everyone on this board. And I expect that trend to keep going.

8. The first person on BB you remember talking to longer than just answering a question to?
Emily (spikefan31). We talked about shipping... and in particular Spike ships. I told her that I didn't think any of Spike's girlfriends treated him with the respect he deserved and therefore they weren't worthy of him. However if I had to choose, Buffy would come out on top just because of the end. And she told me to sign up for The Back Steps.

9. The longest time you've spent on BB in a day?
Ummmm... All day? I don't really leave the house on Fridays or weekends most of the time... and on those days I spend pretty much all day here. One of my favorite things to do is browse threads from like two years ago. I spend quite a bit of time doing it... so even when I'm not actively talking about something, I'm on. Also... since I got my phone with the internet, I'm on ALL the time. I'm on in class, on the bus, when I get up, when I get home... I'm on BB ALL the time.

10. Anything else?
I love this place. BB has helped me become a better person and I can't thank every member enough for that. I love this place.


Just for fun, I went and found my post from last year. Just to see how much it's changed.

1. Why did you join BB?
I was in the market for a good Buffy forum and I typed "Buffy forum" on google and clicked here. I was so impressed by the organization and detailed rules list that I decided to join.

2. Did you look at/join any other Btvs/Ats site first?
I guess you could say I looked at the IMDb Buffy board first... but oh my god... those people... I was a newbie to the show and the board so I didn't feel it was appropriate for me to start new thread... I needed a push. The only threads they had were either OT or things like "Angel V. Spike" or "Spuffy V. Bangel" and I was like can't we have more legit conversation on here? They were rude, so I left. (Interestingly enough, they call themselves Buffyboarders and said I would never be one.)

3. Your best BB moment?
Oh goodness. I think joining VH was a pretty good moment. I wouldn't trade that for the world!

4. Your worst BB moment?
I got an infraction. I accidentally posted something twice... What happened was I posted something and it was removed by a mod... but I didn't get notification that it was removed... so I thought I didn't click post. So I posted it again and then I got an infraction of 300 pts for disobeying the mods... Sad sad moment I have to be reminded up every time I go to my User CP. I totally didn't mean to do that!

5. Your first impression of BB?
My god this place is big and complicated and everyone knows what they're doing.

6. Your impression of BB now?
I still think it's big... It's not complicated anymore and everyone still knows what they're doing. I love it.

7. How has your perception of BB changed since you've joined?
It hasn't. It was a fun place for Buffy fans to hang out online and it still is.

8. Anything else?
I love this place and I'm so glad I joined it. I was needing a board with a clear rules list and order. The other board I'm a member of (Taylor Connect) has no order whatsoever. And I've been asking for a rules list since January and the mods reason for not giving it to me is "It's too much work." They also refuse to message you if something you post is hidden, mergerd, or altered. I love BB. Runs so well. And the people here are so nice. I love all of you!

1. Why did you join BB?
Because I loved Buffy and Angel so much and back then it was still on t.v and I was so excited about the episodes' but none of my friends watched the shows, and I wanted to talk about them with someone so I yahoo searched Buffy discussion boards and found this one lol.

2. Did you look at/join any other Btvs/Ats site first?
Nope BB has been my only Buffy Board really.... it was the first one i joined.

3. Your best BB moment?
Honestly there have been so many lol, The RPG though i think, the first one I can't even remember it really but it was really fun and it was the first one i'd ever done, oh and when they first made the houses that was great. The first annual Buffies was fantastic too. There are just so many to really name <3

4. Your worst BB moment?
The great Deletion of '06 I think it was... when a bunch of us members got deleted and we couldn't figure out what we'd done. I swear i thought i did something really bad lol.

5. Your first impression of BB?
That is was put together nicely, I am really picky about boards i join up at, I don't like messy clutter and BB was nice and organized and very pretty. The members were great and the staff was amazing everyone was so helpful and there were plenty of topics on BtVS and Angel.

6. Your impression of BB now?
Pretty much the same, except the look has gotten nicer, and I now know a lot of the members better and even the staff better (maybe not personally but better then at first) and they are still wonderful helpful people all of them. However it seems that now in days there is much much more drama then back in 2002 when i first joined.

7. How has your perception of BB changed since you've joined?
honestly it really hasn't changed much i still love it today as much as back then except for the drama thing really. Its a lot more dramatic then back then.

8. The first person on BB you remember talking to longer than just answering a question to?
Oh thats easy. Allycat, I remember that because i'd just joined the board RPG playing Darla and he was RPing Drucilla and he messaged me asking if i'd like to plot with him since the two characters interact all the time. Well we started talking plotting then about other stuff. I still talk to Allycat to this day, not as often as back then but I have him on MSN and facebook and we still say hi here and there. He's a good friend <3

9. The longest time you've spent on BB in a day?
Oh my..... Hours and Hours seriously when i first joined back in 2002 I think i spent like 5 or 6 hours on BB at a time some days. I loved this place, I still do but i've learned to balance my time lol, I can't just stay here all day anymore like i used to.

10. Anything else?
I am so thankful to have found this site back when, i've spent a lot of time on these boards and that time has for the most part been wonderful, I've made a lot of great friends some who i've lost contact with, some who sadly aren't with us anymore and some who aren't even on BB anymore but i still talk with. This is probably the best community i've been apart of online and i am so thankful to the staff and members who make that true. 🙂 Buffy boards is love <3

1. Why did you join BB?
My best friend (who got me in to the show) girlfriend was really active on BB a few years ago (some of you that has been here a while might know her - Joamna), so I got the recommendation from her. I've never been a part of these kind of forums before, so I was just expecting to read some threads and maybe discuss some things a few times and then never come back I think. I was very wrong. 😀

2. Did you look at/join any other Btvs/Ats site first?
Nope.

3. Your best BB moment?
When a person I've been Pm:ing with to about a problem that person had said that I had really helped and that the person was feeling better now. It made me so happy and proud. Also just all the fun we have here and the great people I've met - I've literally bursted out in laughter just sitting by my computer and being on here so many times since I've joined, and that's really amazing! If I'm going to be more specific: I thought BB's got talent was really fun. And winning member of them month in VH after just being in there a month made me really happy too!

4. Your worst BB moment?
I haven't had a really bad moment. But I don't like when people are mean to each other. Luckily it doesn't happen very often at all. 🙂

5. Your first impression of BB?
Superfriendly! I was so surprised when I posted in the check in thread and there were so many people welcoming me and wanting to talk!

6. Your impression of BB now?
I love BB so, so much. It's so friendly, I can always count on that if I log in here I'm going to have superfun and talk to a lot of great people.

7. How has your perception of BB changed since you've joined?
I couldn't even imagine that I would be this active and like all of you so much when I first joined. I wasn't expecting to getting to know people at all, I thought this was just a way of discussing buffy, so the fact that I sometimes talk about you with people in "real" life and mention you in conversations and talk about you as "my friend from my buffy forum said..." is so amazing and cool!

8. The first person on BB you remember talking to longer than just answering a question to?
I remember Washburne and Minnie being really nice to me in the check in thread and I was so happy when I got to be in their dorm, but the first person I PM:ed with and really got to know was purpledreams. I wish she was more active, I miss talking to her very much!

When I had pnemonia I was here for like 8 hours straight. 😀

My friend Bex, who is a long time net friend of mine, noticed that I had been posting a lot of Buffy statuses on my facebook as I watched it through for the first time. She sent me an invite, and I decided to check it out.

it's a lot less cliqued then I thought it would be. Sure, everyone has their friends, but they're all really open to new people.

1. Why did you join BB?
When I become completely obsessed with something, I have to talk about it with people. Such was the case after I watched BtVS this summer. I was looking for an active forum and came across the BB through Google. I lurked for about a month, reading posts that people wrote. I was amazed at how intelligent and thoughtful some of the posts were and I really wanted to share my own thoughts. It also looked to be a respectful community, which I loved because I can't stand trolls or people who disrespect others opinions.

2. Did you look at/join any other Btvs/Ats site first?
Nope. Didn't think I needed to when I found the BB. 😉

3. Your best BB moment?
Winning the "Back-Stepper of the year" award in the Back-Steps forum. 🙂 I couldn't even begin to express how thankful I was that people voted for me. I was also truly touched when I read some comments said about me and when my fellow Spuffies said it was a well deserved award. I always hope people read my posts and it gets them to think, so for some to recognize that, especially toward my OTP, was absolutely amazing. 🙂

4. Your worst BB moment?
When some people misinterpret what I say and jump to conclusions that are simply not true. I don't even want to mention the thread(s) this happened in.

5. Your first impression of BB?
Very welcoming, very respectful, and very friendly.

6. Your impression of BB now?
There's still a majority of people who are respectful, friendly, and make interesting topic discussions/arguments, so I tend to try and discuss things with them.

7. How has your perception of BB changed since you've joined?
It hasn't changed that much. I still love talking about various topics that interest me with others, even if there's disagreements at times.

8. The first person on BB you remember talking to longer than just answering a question to?

9. The longest time you've spent on BB in a day?
Wow...there have been times where I've been on the BB literally all day, lol, since I'm in a bit of a transition period with things now.

I absolutely love the BB. 🙂 I love the people I've met through this community and continue to meet. I especially love discussing Spuffy with other people who share my love for this couple. It's what I was looking for with a forum and I found it. 🙂

I was getting back into Buffy and Angel and I wanted somewhere I could discuss it.

Nope.

I don't really have one, it's all been fantastic. I think getting all the welcomes from everyone in my Check In thread, getting my first rep.

Don't have one! 😀

5. Your first impression of BB?
I was kinda nervous when I first joined, which was why I didn't post until after Christmas, I think I was intimidated by how big the forum was and how many people there were, but I'm glad I stayed.

6. Your impression of BB now?
I don't know why I was so nervous - everyone is so nice, and helpful.

7. How has your perception of BB changed since you've joined?
Everyone is so friendly and welcoming, and actually include you in conversations. I've been on forums where they ignore new members and just talk to the popular ones who have been there for ages.

MinwaraYana! And actually, it wasn't even on BB, it was on the Glee forum in a Buffy thread. She was the one who told me to join here. 😀

Most of the day, whenever I'm on the computer I have BB opened in another tab.

I'm so glad MinwaraYana suggested I join, I love this place (I'm actually on here more than I am on the Glee forum, nowadays). I think it's my favourite forum, ever.

I joined BB because I needed to find the drummer for my awesome Alien band 😛 Nah, I joined because after my third(?) re-watch, I was getting obsessed with it again, and no one in my apartment wanted to hear me talk about it lol

2. Did you look at/join any other Btvs/Ats site first?
Nope don't think I did...I really can't remember. I'm just as bad as Dory, ya know, with the short term memory loss

3. Your best BB moment?
I have two actually. First one is when I won best new BB member back in ummm I think it was in August. The second was getting Raiden Prefect 🙂

4. Your worst BB moment?
Lets not get into the details of that and focus on the warm fuzzy side of BB 😀

5. Your first impression of BB?
Holy frickin crap this place is huge! and a crap load of members too *hides under a rock*

6. Your impression of BB now?
*Rolls in like a boss, high fives everyone, takes off shades, wink at that girl over there, keep walking like a G*
Nah, my impression now is that everyone here has made is so much easier for me to be able to talk my love about Buffy and make friends. I was never good at making friends pre-BB

7. How has your perception of BB changed since you've joined?
That this place is actually a hell of a lot cooler than I had expected

OMG you really don't wanna know. I'm on BB even at work. Just lurking most of the time. When I first joined, I posted like crazy lol. Now I just read everything.

I blame BB and all you cool people for making me not have a life...and I mean that in a good way 😀

1. Why did you join BB?

Wow, I'm not even sure, lol. I guess I just happened across it, and was pretty impressed at how well it's run. I had joined other forums before, so I knew that the forum scene could be pretty fun and interesting.

2. Did you look at/join any other Btvs/Ats site first?

Yes, I did, not that I remember them now...

3. Your best BB moment?

Probably at one of the Post-Award Ceremony parties. 😀

4. Your worst BB moment?

Mm, probably those couple of times when I managed to seriously offend several people in one go, lol.

5. Your first impression of BB?

Very well run, and a nice size.

6. Your impression of BB now?

It's definitely my E-home. 🙂

7. How has your perception of BB changed since you've joined?

Definitely! When I first joined I didn't know anyone, which makes the site more intimidating. Now, I know quite a lot of people here, and have met some amazing people.

Probably JoanTheVampireSlayer. She's great, I remember her really reaching out and being extremely friendly and helpful to me.

To find people who I could discuss Buffy with. For a long time I hadn't even thought of doing something like this. I thought I would grow out of loving Buffy as I grew up, but I have just grown to love it more and more. 🙂

I had a look around, but this was the first one I saw that was really active so I thought I'd give it a try

3. Your best BB moment?
It's difficult to choose one, but probably so far its been being able to share my thoughts about my season 6 rewatch, getting a spuffy banner, and being adopted by zobothehobo too, made me feel alot more at home on here

4. Your worst BB moment?
Early on when I was always worried how other people may respond to my messages

5. Your first impression of BB?
A really active Buffy forum, exactly what I was hoping to be a part of

6. Your impression of BB now?
A forum full of friendly and knowledgeable people, not just about Buffy but about life in general aswell

7. How has your perception of BB changed since you've joined?
I've come to respect more and more people on here as I've got to know them a bit

1. Why did you join BB? Because I wanted to talk about Buffy and Angel, duh. My flatmate is the geekiest person I know and even she didn't share my obsession, so...

2. Did you look at/join any other Btvs/Ats site first? I signed up at Blood Roses first, but it's B/A shippers only.
3. Your best BB moment? When I got my own Happy Birthday thread and saw that people didn't only know me but seemed to like me as well 🙂
4. Your worst BB moment? Something that has been cleared up in a private conversation, but I was ashamed of myself for a bit.
5. Your first impression of BB? I was intimidated! You guys seemed like a really close-knit family, I was afraid that I wouldn't be welcomed into the club 😉
6. Your impression of BB now? the family metaphor still holds, but I feel part of it now 🙂
7. How has your perception of BB changed since you've joined? Not any differently from what I already said in #5 and #6

1. Why did you join BB?

I'd just finished watching the DVDs and NEEDED to talk to someone about Buffy!! I had been a couple of years since I'd watched the show on television and I found myself completely obsessed with the show again and I also wanted to see what other people thought of Spike's "no you don't but thanks for saying it" line in Chosen.

2. Did you look at/join any other Btvs/Ats site first?

Oh yes - I was a discussion board whore there for a while - dark horse boards, whedonesque, slay...., Buffy forums, LJ and numerous others that I can't even remember now.

Winning member of the month not long after I joined and being made a Mod.

4. Your worst BB moment?

Posting a meant-to-be-funny post about Spike's absence from the comics and then getting ripped to shreads by another member (who thankfully doesn't post here anymore). It was humiliating and made me pretty cautious about what I post and how I reply to people.

ACTIVE!!

6. Your impression of BB now?

Active and awesome

7. How has your perception of BB changed since you've joined?

No, not really -I still think its awesome - it's really well run and has great members.

8. The first person on BB you remember talking to longer than just answering a question to?

Probably Palabravampiress - she was cool, I miss her round here.

9. The longest time you've spent on BB in a day?

Probably about five hours.

10. Anything else?

My favourite part of the board is The Back Steps sub-forum - it is a spuffy haven and we have some great discussion in there - we don't always agree - you'd be surprised how varied the opinions are!

Why did you join BB?
I needed some place that wouldn't think I'm a geek for gushing about how much I love this freakin' show. 😀

Did you look at/join any other Btvs/Ats site first?
A few. But they were mostly dead. When I found this one, one of my first thoughts were 'God, it's still so active.' I did 'discover' Buffy sorta late in the game. I think Season 7 was just then airing for the first time when I got hooked. So, a lot of boards were dead... or dying... from lack of [real] interest.

Your best BB moment?
The moment I joined. People were so kind and friendly and just understood my fan-girly-ness. Oh, and getting MOTM in VH. That was a high point.

Your worst BB moment?
I don't really have one. Except all that time when I couldn't get on.

Your first impression of BB?
Active. Kind. And loving. Diverse, too.

How has your perception of BB changed since you've joined?
Getting to know the people, and their different perspectives and quirks, has kinda expanded my horizions. I think I respect different types of fans more now then when I first joined.

The first person on BB you remember talking to longer than just answering a question to?
Um, probably Angels baby101 or InsaneMystic. Both are wonderful creatures and kind souls. They really made me feel like family.

The longest time you've spent on BB in a day?
A couple hours maybe. I don't have long to spend.

Anything else?
BB's like home and the people here are like family. It's a strangely wonderful feeling to have. My IRL friends, the ones I see every day, don't get bonding over something as fleeting as a tv show. But it's like a cult classic now. Like Rocky Horror in it's hayday. Buffy rocks. And I'm so glad I'm a part of something that recognizes and celebrates that fact.

1. Why did you join BB?

-A combination of losing interest in the Dr Who board where I've posted for seven or eight years now and watching Dollhouse for the first time, realising that there were still about 20 Buffy and Angel episodes I hadn't seen and wanting to reconnect with a different fandom.

2. Did you look at/join any other Btvs/Ats site first?

-Not that I can remember

3. Your best BB moment?

-Probably the amount of welcome and the scrabbling over me when I asked to be sorted!

4. Your worst BB moment?

-Not sure I've had any bad moments so far.

5. Your first impression of BB?

-An interesting mixture of people interested in having more than superficial discussions.

6. Your impression of BB now?

Pretty much the same, but I understand some different personalities better.

7. How has your perception of BB changed since you've joined?

Not sure- I'm still quite conscious that I'm not particularly typical of BB members, but is anybody?

-That would be Cait offering to make me a banner. You remember those sorts of things.


9. The longest time you've spent on BB in a day?

-Not sure about that as I tend to pop in for half an hour at a time but might do that several times an evening

-I'm really still getting to know people and where everything is so won't pass judgement just yet!
