SO I'm bored lol. I was wondering, I know there are official relationship status's like single, married etc....But how do you class yourself? Do you class yourself as anything? Do you ever update your status on Facebook? I've attached a poll but if you feel you do not fit into what I have chosen then feel free to post your status in the thread if you want to.

I don't have an official status because its no one's business freakly. That idea was one of the worse in history. The people who know the person will know over time, the rest of the world don't need to know.

Oh but I do know ;)
I'm engaged so I voted 'In a relationship'. My SO and I never had a talk to define the relationship, we just sorta went from being friends to being boyfriend/girlfriend. Neither one of us are big Facebook users so our relationship status was never on that until we got engaged, and we only did it then because it was a quick and easy way of letting all our friends know.

Living the single life, and loving every bits of it atm! But I've always been more independent, I don't want to settle down before I do all the stuff that I want to do while I'm still young (travel, get an education, live in different places).

I don't mind people knowing, but I do think being "facebook official" is dumb. Even more so when ultimately you break up and you gotta suffer everyone publicly knowing about the break up!

I will not comment regarding hands on poles. It's just too easy.

FB now has an option to "silently" remove your relationship status so it doesn't announce to the world that you broke up.

Well also if you go by the film (and its maybe best not too😉) then the status was only invented for someone who maybe interested in you to know whether you are available. So it encoureges people to be lazy, makes FB into like a dating service, and besides the pain of wondering such things is all part of the rollercoaster of life, can't change the rules now.

And yes you do know! So just except that as a compliment and keep tight lipped about it😉

I class myself as single. I don't really care who knows. My life is complicated which is probably why I'm single still lol. I'm single on Facebook and will probably stay that way as I don't like it when people chop and change their status seemingly for a reaction.

"Other".

Engaged. My OH proposed to me on my 27th birthday when I was 4 months pregnant! I nearly punched him.

Planning to marry once our daughter is a little older. It's weird, I have quite alternative views but when it comes to marriage I'd say I'm a traditionalist. My parents have been happily married since they were 19 - and they've just turned 50. So I guess that was always something I wanted for myself.

The thing I would say about knowing you the little amount of time I have is that marriage really wouldn't change you that much, you would just carry on as normal. You seem very grounded that way.

@GwenRaiden So glad you took that as a compliment and didn't me saying it, was worried you were gonna punch me!!😱

What part? Being single and doing what i want? I stand by what i said ;) lol
I'm pretty much always single, not very good with relationships. I got other stuff in my life to worry about than dating right now. But it is nice being single and having fun. I can whatever I want and not have to check with anyone or worry about kids. I've always been private when it comes to relationships. It's not really anyones business.

Well the last part I agree with, the second part you may want to think about....lol.
I am in a relationship.

I thought I was happy being single, but it is just nice being in a relationship. I am a different person because of his love and acceptence.

I am newly married. Tied the knot 10 days ago 🙂.
I've always been very open with everyone about my relationships and this one is no different. Friends for years, became my boyfriend and then 3 months later we got engaged. That was two years ago and now we're married.

People would always say to me 'you know, when you know' and I never understood that...until it happened to me. One day a person comes into your life and you have no idea who you were without them. Not saying that another person defines you, but my husband brings out the best in me and he really is the greatest thing to ever happen to me.

wow congrats!
I consider relationships to be no one else's business but my own, but I am married and it is a matter of public record so there is no expectation of privacy there. You could say the same about being divorced or separated (which was not one of the options on the list). I am not a shipper in fandom, either.

so the person you married, is it anything to do with them?
TotallySpiked,
before I start to rabbit, congrats.
so I was wondering what area you live in, as you say the knot is made from rainbows. Only the eastern half of Australia has rain at the moment so the rainbows would be there. But then it struck me about the knot being made from rainbows and candy, combining those two items .. could it be a hint that you are from a seaside town that sells sticks of rock?
I remember those lovely sticks of rock candy from my childhood, that rainbow coloured candy.

@ILLYRIAN you are almost spot on. I do live close to the water, but in Queensland. Plenty of candy there. And unfortunately no rain to break this humidity. It's times like these that I remember winter fondly.

I'm recently married (well it's less than a year) but it's weird because I don't feel like a wife. We were living together before we got married so nothing has changed there. I still refer to him as my partner and not my husband and I've yet to be able to sign my signature without signing my maiden name.

Your probably wondering why I bothered getting married lol but it's the way I've been brought up. I come from a massive family (my dad has 8 brothers and sisters and I have 15 cousins). Only 2 of them have gotten a divorce (one was actually an annulment). I'm old fashioned as well because any guy who wants kids with me has to marry me first. However, I'm not that old fashioned about everything, our little girl did come 5 months after we got married 🙂
