Your strange over-used words and weird nicknames.

One day I had a disagreement with a friend whom i'd nicknamed 'Emo'. I replied to her with "whatever, emo" to which she replied "Whatever....Franklin" and it kind of just... stuck. My facebook even has the name.


I was known as moogie in early High Schools years as well as Sponge-dude to a fellow spongebob fan.

My friends and I do the shortening of words pretty often, like we'll say "preesh" instead of "thank you" or "appreciate it."

My personal most used phrase is probably "Effing Hell!" (but you know, without the censoring 😛 )

Nicknames I've acquired over the years: "Urm", "Arumba", "A", "Air", and most recently (and annoyingly :silly: ) "Air-head"
 
I probably say "hewwo" too much but I haven't been slapped about it yet!

Come to think of it, I probably slap people too much on IRC too.
 
I have the tendancy to call people sweetie, sweets or hon. Girls I sometimes call chickiebabe or chica or baby girl, don't ask my why...I don't know.

I do say "Come the f**k on, Bridget" to anyone I'm trying to hurry up. My reasoning behind some of the things I do is usually "for sh!ts and giggles" and I tend to say sweet or nice instead of cool. And I tend to call tomatoes Tom-a-toes and potatoes Pot-a-toes. Ya know, for sh!ts and giggles 😛
 
In college, I used to be called "Dem." My roommate and I shared the same first name. We were also rather vocal about our respective political stances. So when our classmates would ask after an Amanda, a common response was either "the democrat" or "the republican." Over the course of Freshman year, people took to calling me "Democrat," and then just "Dem." It stuck. In fact, it stuck so well that a few underclassmen thought "Dem" was my *actual* name. My college roommate visited a little while ago and I gotta say... it felt uber weird to have her call me by my actual name instead of by my nickname.
 
Um...people 'round these parts tend to call me MessyKat. Dunno where that came from...something to do with Lou and forgetting how to spell my actual screenname... 😀

But, in all actuality, I don't have very many weird nicknames. My mom calls me Nik. My ex used to call me Nik-a-Nik. I had plenty of weird nicknames in high school...my best friend used to call me Angel D and my other ex used to call me Lita Baby. It was all very strange.

But overused words? Oh, I got a ton of those...'epic' and 'junn' spring to mind. I've come to understand that 'epic' is the most addictive word known to man. 'Junn' is when something is so METAL and AWESOME that you can't comprehend it unless you use a hand gesture - it's like a claw, 'cept facing you...yea, well, it's hard to explain.

I mostly use a ton of Internet jargon in my speak, as I usually spend too much time on the ZE INTERNETZLOL. Like 'for the win' or 'for the loss' or 'made of fail' or anything like that. You know what I mean. 😀
 
I tend to end a lot of sentences with "...or something" for some reason.

As for nicknames, I don't have any in particular at the moment. People just tend to call me Ulle or Uli (nothing weird about that). But when I was about 7 years old this teacher-guy at my after school centre used to call me "Uncle Esther". I've NO idea where that came from but it became a thing and we'd even have mock conversations about it. "So why do they call you uncle Esther, you being a girl?" and I'd come up with some bogus explanation. :biggrin: Another teacher called me "Ulrikke Springmus" (roughly: Ulrikke jumping-mouse) because I liked jumping over stuff. 😛
 
Nicknames? Apart from the obvious Bunnies on here, my friends call me Jam, Jamcake, James, JJ, Curly Girly, or Red but most of the time Im just Jamie. One of my Aunts calls me Nicky as in Nicole Kidman ever since I became a red head which just bugs the crap outta me.

Dont know if this is used in other countries or whatever, but whenever your at the pub and someone breaks a glass, at least half a dozen people yell out "TAXI!" as in your too wasted go home, hehe.

I say "I dont know" alot even though I DO know, I just randomly end sentences with it or throw it in, in the middle, lord knows why.

My friends tend to use alot of tv/movie qoutes when talking. My cousin's response to everything is "So's your face!" not Buffy related but Scrubs, and ofcourse if she thinks she has won an argument or whatever its "Zoom, zoom, zoom!" or "Burn!" (That 70's Show). Definately overused is Simpsons qoutes, eg. if you want out of a conversation or if someone icky is hitting on you that Disco Stu line is often said "Back away, not today, disco lady" (not infront of said person, to eachother) and a whole bunch of other random in-jokes etc, that dont invlove tv that Im not gonna even try and explain, lol.
 
My friends and I have come to the conclusion that, by the end of our four years here, what we speak will hardly even resemble English, just because we spend so much time butchering it. Our language is already developing. In brief:

The suffixes:
-bag: bad
-nugget: good
(These double as their own words as well)

The words:
tootsiepalerroll: toilet paper roll (slang "hoohoo")
Mormangina: Orangina
Louder (v.): to highten the volume (e.g. "Can you louder this please?")
Hats: rats
Mittens: cat

The sounds:
Mryrrr: often used after the possessive "my," can replace any noun (e.g. "My mryrrr is cold!" or "Have you seen my mryrrr?")

The nicknames:
Nooppp
Pellet
Pocket
Poopsie
Pickle
Mlymles
etc.

As for the phrases... there too many to begin to list...

This has been a sampling, there are many, many more confusing words. etc...

Seems harmless compared to my "slower! SLOWER!" when I want someone to tune the volume down (that tends to get me very confused looks, lol).
 
Me and my friends call eahc other Babes after everything! but we say it BBZ really high lighting the Z.
When we meet up you alwasy say "hiya bbz" and end each sentence with bbz when were talking to the other person. lol obviously we don't do it for everything that'd get annoying and old fast.

We also all put on a stupid voice (like a really camp man) when were jokign with eahc other 😀

There's probably other words/phrases but it can't remember them. But we all have our little code names mines smaty, my friend include include Big D,Daisu, Herron,Maddytron,Packer, Polly-anna,Tasha, Ail G.

We also have in jokes whihc i can't really explain its taken 4 years to make them! lol

All i'll say is

I wish I did not say the word a lot so much. I use the word a lot, a lot. It never really occurred to me except the board spelling feature flagged my old way of spelling it, -alot- and then I recognized how often I use it do to a conscious effort not to spell it wrong.

Short of that I probably use Star Wars references way to much, but thats just tough sith ( << haha, dyslexic starwars tie in.)for all you folks; I will likely do that forever.
 
A word I use way too often that people give me a strange look for using is "randominiminity". I made it up after finishing an test in my English class which doesn't help any with it's grammatical correctness.

Nickname-wise, I call everyone "sweetie" which garners plenty of strange faces. Online, though, I call my friends "bb", short for "baby", the latter of which would be really awkward to call anyone you're not dating.
 
Me and my mates don't really have wierd words, but we do have wierd nicknames. For instance; I'm Midgetoa (Cause I'm a midget) and my mate is Sammiebix. (cause she likes Weetabix)

KK! Long time no see! Hope you're well :)
Well, recently i've been using two words excessively and i never used to say them that much before! They are
Dude
and Awesome.

And i have a new phrase i use like all the time, "I make it cool." Which isn't true but i say it anyway 😀

I guess the weirdest name nick-name is what i call my friend Clare, MUSHROOM PETE!!! Not sure how it started but it's kinda stuck.
 
I always say rude or bad words since I dont stay in my home country. Well, when I talk with my only friend from my country that live here with me, we always call other people(but not in front of them) in rude words just becuz nobody understands our language. 😉 Bad me
