20th Anniversary of Angel: 31 Days of Angel

Day 17 : Favorite speech on Angel ?

Wesley : "There's love, there's hope for some, there's hope that you'll find something worthy... That your life will lead you to some joy... That after everything you can still be surprised".

Angel in Power Play : "They will do everything in their power to destroy us. So...I need you to be sure. Power endures. We can't bring down the senior partners, but for one bright, shining moment, we can show them that they don't own us. You need to decide for yourselves if that's worth dying for. I can't order you to do this. I can't do it without you. So we'll vote. As a team. Think about what I'm asking you to do, think about what I'm asking you to give".

Or

Lindsey : .... Everyday you sit behind your desk and you learn a little more how to accept the world as it is. Heroes don't do that, heroes don't accept the world the way it is, they fight it".

😳 😳😳 I've forgotten to put one of the funniest moments on ATS in "Day 14", that was in "Inside Out" Skip in that episode makes me laugh mostly when he can't escape and gives information about Evil Cordy, he makes me laugh in these moments. 😀

Ahh dang it... I laughed at when he offered chicken wings... oh and at Evil Charisma Carpenter's bad acting. :P
Day 16: Recurring character you would liked to have seen more of?

I'm an obvious big supporter of Gwen, Anne the same... Nina (i guess?), possibly David Nabbit from S1 and Willow.

Day 17: Favorite speech from Angel?

Peace Out's final lines... sounds like a speech and then...

ANGEL:
I've got a bad feeling. He's just...given up. I think he's gonna do something. You know, he might—

LILAH
End world peace? (Angel looks over to see her standing in the office doorway) Well, you already took care of that. Congratulations.

Day 16: Recurring character you would liked to have seen more of?

Definitely Skip. His first encounter with Angel had me laughing myself silly:

Angel: "So, ah, you live in here, Skip?"
Skip: "No. I commute. It's not too bad - about twenty minutes."
Angel: "Uh, what keeps him in the fire?"
Skip: "My will."
Angel: "How come he's not screaming in pain?"
Skip: "Oh, he is. My will prevents him from being heard. I mean there is only so many 'oh my god! The pain! Please make it stop!' that you can listen to before it starts to bug the crap out of you."
Angel: "I see your point."

Day 17: Favorite speech on Angel?

"I lived seven lives at once. I was power in the ecstasy of death. I was god to a god. Now... I'm trapped on a roof... just one roof, in this time and this place with an unstable human who drinks too much whiskey and called me a 'Smurf.' "

"I walked worlds of smoke and half-truths, intangible. Worlds of torment and of unnamable beauty. Opaline towers as high as small moons. Glaciers that rippled with insensate lust. And one world with nothing but shrimp. I tired of that one quickly."

Yeah Skip's great.
Day 17: Favorite speech on Angel?

From the transcript of Deep Down on BuffyWorld
Angel; "What you did to me - was unbelievable, Connor. - But then I got stuck in a hell dimension by my girlfriend one time for a hundred years, so three months under the ocean actually gave me perspective. Kind of a M. C. Esher perspective - but I did get time to think. About us, about the world. - Nothing in the world is the way it ought to be. - It's harsh, and cruel. - But that's why there's us. Champions. It doesn't matter where we come from, what we've done or suffered, or even if we make a difference. We live as though the world was what it should be, to show it what it can be. - You're not a part of that yet. - I hope you will be. (Angel moves to stand in front of Connor) I love you, Connor. (Quietly, after a beat) Now get out of my house."

Day 17: Favorite speech on Angel?
Probably go with the Deep Down speech too. It sums up so well what one of the big themes of the show is. Nicely delivered by DB too. Plus it ends with him sticking it to Connor which is always fun😀

Day 18: Which character do you relate to the most?
More often than not The Beast.

Day 18 : Which character do you relate to the most ?

Gwen raiden or Wesley

Day 12: Favorite relationship?
Wes and Lilah. Loved their dark twisty romance.

Day 13: What was the most heartbreaking scene?
A toss up between IWRY the final seconds B/A had together and Connor being kidnapped and taken into a hell dimension.

Day 14: What was the funniest moment?
Angel and Wes dancing in She. Or something from Spin the Bottle.

Day 15: Favorite fight scene?
I liked the final scene in Not Fade Away. The team standing in the rain with weapons ready for the fight.

Day 16: Recurring character you would have liked to see more of?

Gwen, Kate, Nina

Day 17: Favorite speech?
Angel: "Well, I guess I kinda - worked it out. If there is no great glorious end to all this, if - nothing we do matters, - then all that matters is what we do. 'cause that's all there is. What we do, now, today. - I fought for so long. For redemption, for a reward - finally just to beat the other guy, but... I never got it."
Kate: "And now you do?"
Angel: "Not all of it. All I wanna do is help. I wanna help because - I don't think people should suffer, as they do. Because, if there is no bigger meaning, then the smallest act of kindness - is the greatest thing in the world."

Day 18: Which character do you relate to most?
idk....Fred maybe?

Taake
Taake
Fred would be Riley’s BFF I’m sure, so... good choice!
Day 17: Favorite speech?

It's no fun when others have already given my answer! My favorite speech is definitely Angel's Epiphany, and Deep Down comes second. However, there are other speeches that really, painfully, resonate with me, such as Faith's speech to Buffy in Sanctuary ("You're all about control. You have no idea what it's like on the other side! Where nothing's in control, nothing makes sense! There is just pain and hate and nothing you do means anything."), or Connor's to Angel in Home ("There's only one thing that ever changes anything... and that's death. Everything else is just a lie. You can't be saved by a lie. You can't be saved at all."). *sobs* Tim Minear wrote 3/4 of these episodes... figures haha.

Day 18: Which character do you relate to most?

Anyone who has ever read a post of mine knows I over-identify with Angel. It's kind of my thing.

I missed some days, but I'm just going to jump back in!

Day 17: Favorite speech?

"It's like a song. Now, I can hold a note for a long time (laughs) actually I can hold a note forever. But eventually that's just noise. It's the change we're listening for. The note coming after, and the one after that. That's what makes it music." — Lorne in Happy Anniversary

Day 18: Which character do you relate to most?

Angel, and Darla in Lullaby

Day 17: Favorite speech?

Gotta be a tie between Deep Down:

"Nothing in the world is the way it ought to be. - It's harsh, and cruel. But that's why there's us. Champions. It doesn't matter where we come from, what we've done or suffered, or even if we make a difference. We live as though the world was what it should be, to show it what it can be. You're not a part of that yet. - I hope you will be."

And Power Play:

"Power endures. We can't bring down the senior partners, but for one bright, shining moment, we can show them that they don't own us. You need to decide for yourselves if that's worth dying for. I can't order you to do this. I can't do it without you. So we'll vote. As a team. Think about what I'm asking you to do, think about what I'm asking you to give."

Day 18: Which character do you relate to most?
